ROCK, POP AND PSYCHEDELIC

KUUPUU- UNILINTU LP (dekorder, germany)
25.98usd/12.75gbp/16.66eur/2605jpy (approx)

*Unilintu is the second of two vinyl-only LPs on the Dekorder label compiling the best material from Kuupuus first four CD-R and cassette releases, this time presenting a slightly darker and even more coherent sonic vision compared to last years gorgeous Yökehrä lp.

UTON- ALITAJA YLIMINA LP (dekorder, germany)
25.98usd/12.75gbp/16.66eur/2605jpy (approx)

*Alitaju Ylimina is the first vinyl album by Finlands Uton released in a strictly limited edition of 500 copies in a marvellous fold-out sleeve with a full-colour drawing by Uton himself on the outer sleeve and some fierce black&white illustrations by dutch artist Christelle Gualdi inside. Uton is the one-man project of Jani Hirvonen originally hailing from Tampere and currently travelling and recording in India. Hirvonen is one of the most active musicians of the Finnish underground scene that has recently presented us the likes of Kuupuu, Kemialliset Ystävät, Islaja, Paavoharju and Lau Nau and a seemingly never-ending stream of beautiful and highly original record releases. The music of Uton is no exception there, drawing inspirations from psychedelia to free jazz to pure ecstatic drones and noises using a wide range of acoustic instruments from various parts of the globe and a bulk of electronics. Recorded in glorious lo-fi the mystery of Hirvonens sound is difficult to pinpoint; sheer ravishing beauty, elegancy and variegation is stashed behind a wall of grey, inscrutable haze - gorgeous melodies and voices, reeds and alien sounds gleaming through
the mist from time to time, shimmering like diamonds through layers of dust. Uton has previously released dozens of CDs, CD-Rs and Cassettes on a myriad of labels including Jewelled Antler, Pseudo Arcana, Last Visible Dog, Digitalis and his own Ikuisuus. He has collaborated with
Amon Dude (Avarus), Anla Courtis (Reynols), Antony Milton (Black Boned Angel), Ben Reynolds, Peter Wright, Phil Todd (Ashtray Navigations) and Jan Anderzen (Tomutonttu, Kemialliset Ystävät) among others. The latter collaboration (under the Hevoset moniker) will be released on LP by Dekorder later this year.

SIX ORGANS OF ADMITTANCE- THE SUN AWAKENS LP (drag city, usa)
14.98usd/7.35gbp/9.61eur/1502jpy (approx)

*restocked… Listening to The Sun Awakens back-to-back with its predecessor will provoke a different response. There's a few treats, sure. As a matter of fact, it's all treats to our ears. But it's not all happy beans, just so you know. As a matter of fact, it's the darkest Six Organs of Admittance yet. In addition to titling songs cheerless things like 'Black Wall,' and 'Torn by Wolves,' Ben's brought a bit more electric guitar into the mix to help bring out the darkness. Tim Green is behind the board making sure that everything sounds rock-solid, and the acoustics are brilliant, almost blinding. Side one is a six-song circle where waves of guitars build and beauty is betrayed by madness...in the prettiest possible way. Side two is a trip down the droning 'River of Transfiguration.' The inspiration here is Hermann Nitsch. You might hear Popul Vuh as an influence too, as well as Hapshash and the Coloured Coat. Overall though, Six Organs of Admittance doesn't believe in the critical myth that an artist who flirts with the obscure needs to consolidate their experimental tendencies into more and more listenable music in order to expand the envelope of what pop music can be. He don't believe in a linear aesthetic trajectory either.

SIX ORGANS OF ADMITTANCE- SCHOOL OF THE FLOWER LP (drag city, usa)
14.98usd/7.35gbp/9.61eur/1502jpy (approx)

*restocked… This is the first Six Organs of Admittance record to be recorded in a studio. No computers were harmed (or used) during the making of this record. Free-jazz sensation Chris Corsano contributes drums with the greatest sympathy. It's a fantastic new album, as just a fraction of a listen will reveal. The highly prolific Six Organs of Admittance returns with a sixth or seventh album, School of the Flower.

SIX ORGANS OF ADMITTANCE- DAYS OF BLOOD LP (hash, usa)
22.98usd/11.28gbp/14.74eur/2304jpy (approx)

*Limited "bootleg" reissue of the cdr sold during Six Organs Of Admittance live shows in 2006.recorded Fall, 2005 with Ben Chasny, John Moloney of Sunburned hand of the man, and Keith Wood of Hush Arbors.

WHITE HEAVEN- LEVITATION... PLUS LP (farside, japan)
42.98usd/21.10gbp/27.57eur/4310jpy (approx)

*restocked… All time Japanese noise/psych classic rarity. Limited, numbered edition of 300 copies on 180 gram. Reissued with 1 bonus track. Cult guitarist Michio Kurihara and crew, created this awesome psychedelic cranium damaging noise masterpiece in Tokyo 1988. It was originally released as a 700 only LP release that sold out instantly thereby rendering it instant cult status with a scarcity value that beggars belief. This has to be the most sought after album of its genre and makes Les Rallizes Denudes look positively commonplace and as we all know, they are NOT! With a Quicksilver-Lysergic damaged sound, this band has to be heard, and here you have possibly the last chance to do this.

LULA CORTES E ZE RAMALHO- PAÊBIRÚ 2LP (mr. bongo, uk)
37.98usd/18.64gbp/24.36eur/3808jpy (approx)

*Paêbirú is an obscure Brazilian psych concept album about the four elements (earth, air, fire, water) that was lost to time in a warehouse fire in 1974, causing it to become a massively sought-after lost classic, fetching up to $1500 for vinyl copies. This recording of the collaboration between Brazilian artists Lula Côrtes and Zé Ramalho is a wonderfully off-kilter record, full of fantastic hooky and strange tunes that range all over the place, from full-on freakouts to quiet pastoral. The entire range of 1970s hippie Brazilian musician culture is displayed in this record. It's experimental, but it's relentlessly driven towards fun. If you like good music, you will like this legendary album untouched by time. Côrtes, who composes and plays on many of the tracks, seemingly appears only when talking about obscure Brazilian psych reissues, Ramalho, on the other hand, has built a solid career as a Brazilian pop singer and takes on most vocal duties. It's a very atmospheric blend, sung and chanted vocals are no more or less important than any of the other elements, which include classical acoustic and fuzzy electric guitar, piano, organ, flute, sax and a range of percussion. It's free and psychedelic, but just reigned in enough to keep it tense and exciting. The closest comparison might be to combine Amon Düül with Sunburned Hand of the Man and perhaps Double Leopards, if they lived on a commune together in Brazil and recorded while indulging in mass quantities of narcotics. In Brazil from the late 1960s onward, Caetano Veloso, Jorge Ben, Tom Zé, and many others blended elements of psychedelic rock, jazz, indigenous folk, with more 'classic' urban styles (bossa nova, samba, etc.) and instrumentation. As much a political identity movement as a cultural, Tropicalia artists as a whole were interested in using artistic expression as removing barriers and as a means of enabling other societal freedoms. Simultaneously, but across the Atlantic, European mystical trance rock of the time, beginning with outfits like Parson Sound and Amon Düül, and continued by Träd Gräs och Stenar and Algarnas Tradgard.

KAWAGUCHI MASAMI'S NEW ROCK SYNDICATE- CAT VS. FROG LP
(palindrone, new zealand)
18.98usd/9.32gbp/12.17eur/1903jpy (approx)

*Kawaguchi Masami is a Japanese guitar monster who has done time in Miminokoto, LSD March, and Broomdusters, and played with Keiji Haino for a time. This, his new band, also features bassist Akira Kikuchi and drummer Nao Shibata (Hijokaidan, Doodles). A track by New Rock Syndicate featured on the recent PSF compilation Tokyo Flashback Vol. 6. The new album is called Cat vs. Frog and clocks in at around 40 mins. It's exceptional wailing, burning garage psych-rock grounded in Kawaguchi's trademark heart-breakingly melancholic emotional intensity, instantly hummable, head-nodding toe-tapping riffs and melodies and unavoidably air guitaring white light, white heat guitar solos. Cat vs. Frog is pressed on white vinyl, in an edition of 500.

THE STARS- PERFECT PLACE TO HIDEAWAY LP (pedal, japan)
37.98usd/18.64gbp/24.36eur/3808jpy (approx)

*restocked… This is the long anticipated followup to their first album , will, which was chosen by British magazine the wire as one of the best albums of 2004. Perfect Place to Hideway has sensual grooves not heard on their earlier work, cold, icy riffs, and an overwhelming tone of nihilism in the vocals, all masterfully put together to create a multi-dimensional, grand listening experience. From opener Subway, with Michio Kuriharas guitar lines weaving through eternal, repetitive grooves and Ishiharas controlled, unique vocals, this album ushers in a new era for the band. From the slashing guitar riffs to the impenetrable grooves laid out by the rhthym section, from the anarchic, bold arrangements to the dark lyricism, the unique album creates an overwhelming, cosmic listening experience.

JADE STONE & LUV- MOSAICS: PIECES OF STONE LP (subliminal sounds, sweden)
34.98usd/17.17gbp/22.44eur/3507jpy (approx)

*lp version, Gatefold LP sleeve + printed inner sleeve. The sole album from male-female duo Jade Stone & Luv is a lost gem from the heart of the psychedelic 1970s. Composed and self-produced in Nashville in 1977, Mosaics: Pieces of Stone went unnoticed by the music industry upon release. Fortunately, it didn't disappear forever, but simply went into retreat, biding its time. While almost unknown outside specialist circles, Mosaics has been an underground cult favorite for many years. The combination of top-level songwriting, skillful guitar/keyboard arrangements and soaring vocals is just too impressive to ignore. And beyond these obvious qualities, the album has something subtle and unique, a magnetic power that keeps drawing the listener back. One of Jade Stone & Luv's earliest advocates was the legendary New York City musicologist, Paul Major. Here's a typical Major impression of the music on Mosaics: "Groovy love vibes thru a prism of jade statues in swinging singles apartment complex action ... Cadillac with fuzzy dice, feather boa, lotsa cigarette burns, stale perfumed ashen air. This album in the 8-track player at 5 AM with someone you don't even know passed out in the backseat, as you head to the diner to meet up with an early-bird Lava Lite salesman who deals pills on the side. Bubbly champagne molecules become the plastic vinyl booths in dim-lit dive bars; it's crackerbox post-war suburban low-rent psychedelic..." After 30 years, this rare experience is finally available for general consumption. Exact reissue, including a bonus track, in a limited edition of 500 copies.

32.98usd/16.19gbp/21.15eur/3307jpy (approx)

*restocked… Limited 2LP vinyl version of 500 copies, following the previously-released CD. Baby Grandmothers were a short-lived Swedish band, but one of the most prolific and unique psychedelic, modal, experimental power trios to emerge out of the Scandinavian psychedelic underground scene in 1967. Although hailing from Stockholm, Sweden they only released a single in Finland, which has since become one of the most sought-after pieces of vinyl from the era. Formed out of the legendary R&B/beat band T-Boones which included guitar-wiz Kenny Håkansson, who ushered the group into the psychedelic sounds of the time. Not only were they the house band at the legendary psychedelic club, Filips, they also supported Jimi Hendrix on his Swedish tour in 1968 and then turned into Mecki Mark Men, who became the first Swedish rock band to tour the U.S. This unique collection includes live recordings made at Filips, their impossibly rare single and a rare live recording made in Finland. Painstakingly collected and researched by Dungen's guitarist, Reine Fiske.

(was soll das? platten, germany)
25.98usd/12.75gbp/16.66eur/2605jpy (approx)

*As if the release of the “Tetchy Teenage Tapes of Felix Kubin” (version Pop on Skipp, version Nerv on A-Musik in 2003) was not enough, another label from South Germany urged us to plunder our archive and come up with 14 unreleased tracks of Felix Kubin`s Teenager electro nerve-grinding band “Die Egozentrischen 2”. All the songs were written and produced on 4-track between 1982 and 1985 by Felix Kubin and Stefan Grund. The record title is “Der Aufstand der Chemiker” (Riot of the chemists) which is also the fastes synthie punk track of that time. I guess. Edition of 300 in slikscreened jackets.

AVANT GARDE AND NOISE

EMERALDS/QUINTANA ROO- BUBBLE QUIET COMPLICATION/BEHEADED DYNASTY LP (arbor, usa)
18.98usd/9.32gbp/12.17eur/1903jpy (approx)

*Blessed waves of beautiful sounds build and decay into perfect pieces of music. From opposing locations and opposing approaches to drone, Ohios Emeralds and LAs Quintana Roo juxtapose themselves with skillful perfection. Emeralds epic synth composition "Bubble Quiet Complication" marks the acts first vinyl appearance, and possibly heaviest work to date. A tribute to the sine waves of 70s, this massive grower oscillates and progresses completely discretely; impossible to follow and completely transcendental. Bass heavy subsonic patterns work their way underneath the beauty, completely proving and reinforcing this bands recent acclaim. Quintana Roo (comprised of members of Robedoor, Pocahaunted, and Changeling et al.) take a more natural/native approach to their craft. A massive horn blasts marks a call to arms on "Beheaded Dynasty". Twinkling chimes and electric textures help paint a natural base. Hand drums start the
onward march to oblivion, met along the way by a blessed to infinity bass line building to an organic overload. In a numbered edition of 450 emerald green LPs with printed labels and proprinted cardboard jackets with an insert all from the psyched psyche of Devon Varmega.

EMERALDS/TUSCO TERROR- VAPORIZER/FERAL COUSINS LP (ecstatic peace, usa)
14.98usd/7.35gbp/9.61eur/1502jpy (approx)

*restocked… Emeralds is Mark McGuire, John Elliott & Steve Hauschildt. They are currently based in and around Cleveland, Ohio. Direct descendants of the history of adventurous punk, post-punk, whatever music spilling out of Ohio the last 35 years or so from Pere Ubu, Devo, Rocket From The Tombs, The Raspberries, The Cramps, Dead Boys, Great Plains, Fuzzhead, et al. Emeralds is the sound of exploration of space/time conundrums utilizing vintage synthesizer beauty and guitar experimentation. Unfolding sweet-leaf shifts and gorgeous curves of kosmiche abandon are played with devotion and desire. With a palpitating discography of cassettes, CD-Rs, etc., both self-released and on righteous labels (Hanson, Gods Of Tundra, American Tapes, Chondritic Sound) Emeralds have already distinguished themselves as new yet timeless, young yet ageless. Tusco Terror was introduced to us by fellow Ohioan (at that time) Leslie Keffer, (whose Feels Like Frenching LP was released on the label) as her favorite band in Ohio. She sent us some cassette releases and we were immediately blitzed. The sound of reckless confrontation, living room shambles, chaotic slipstreams and glorious friendship noise crackled from one brain stem to another. Tusco Terror resides in Akron, OH when they're not wheeling around the country setting up in any bewildered basement scene or delirious donut shop across the USA to wig out anyone fortunate enuff to be 'there.'

PRURIENT/AKITSA- SPLIT LP (blasphemous underground, france)
25.98usd/12.75gbp/16.66eur/2605jpy (approx)

*long awaited split release going on almost 3 years. AKITSA is masterful, desperate, and relentless raw mid-paced canadian black metal in the vein of early burzum, ildjarn, and perhaps a slower bone awl. atmospheric yet shredded minimal and monolithic guitar and drum mantras
with inhumane, spiritual vocal abandon. complete with bombed out morbid organ and noise intro wrought with anxious anticipation of the primitive natural vortex that follows. PRURIENT presents a massively decayed, fetid sound collage titled fossil recorded live on the radio with 3 man line up of kris lapke and jvibg of viodre, a day after the recording of the fossil full length. patient, miserable, synth wails and howls under churning field recordings, tapes, electronic distortion and the inevitable vocal fallout. roughly 30 min from each band creating a long and drizzly haze for isolated depressives. Limited euro pressing of the Hospital CD, in killer gatefold sleeve.

*On his debut LP After The Snow (this artist was already present on Enfant04: Electronic Renaissance) presents to the world his visions and feelings translated into dark, ritualistic and invocative minimal electronics. In his sound you will discover that After The Snow works

17.98usd/8.83gbp/11.53eur/1803jpy (approx)

*Total Head Crush Destruction from Mr Wiese (also of Sissy Spacek and LHD, works with Sunn 0)), etc, etc), if your head was made out of a boulder the sounds here enclosed are still designed to leave behind nothing but blood stain dust. Side A is the eternal acid rain that we all fear slowly melting your skin away and reminding of your insignificant humanity, Side B is a metallic behemoth continously punching you from all directions leaving you with just enough unbroken bones so that you can breath. Another No Fun Classic. Limited to 300.

NO NECK BLUES BAND AND EMBRYO- EMBRYONNCK LP (sound@one/staubgold, usa)
19.98usd/9.81gbp/12.82eur/2003jpy (approx)

*New York mavericks No Neck Blues Band and Munich-based Krautrock band Embryo explore the indigenous urban music phenomenon on this, their debut collaborative release. The No Neck Blues Band are one of the most enigmatic, mysterious, and defiantly anti-commercial groups to
emerge from the New York loft scene during the °Æ90s. The collective was formed in 1992 around a core of multi-instrumentalists who have stubbornly and admirably insisted on individual anonymity. Incorporating elements of folk, drone, psychedelia, free jazz, noise, and just about everything else, NNCK have nevertheless carved out a distinctive sound from complementary
and disparate component elements. One of the most original and innovative Krautrock bands, Embryo fused traditional ethnic music with their own jazzy space rock style. Over their 30-year existence, during which Christian Burchard has been the only consistent member, the group has traveled the world, playing with hundreds of different musicians and releasing over twenty records. Melding their wildly diverse forays into experimental, blues, Middle Eastern, Turkish and African music, these two groups have since become brothers in unparalleled improvisatory spirit,
and EmbryoNNCK is the fruit of that merge. To quote Christian Burchard, °∞The NNCK players were flying... Little melodies we never had heard, different moods, rhythmic interplays, and in between the musicmaking it was like we had been together all the time.°± This should be one of the most transcendent releases of the year. Heavy jacket including a full color poster and inserts.

NO NECK BLUES BAND- AFTYPICLIPSE LP (sound@one, usa)
17.98usd/8.83gbp/11.53eur/1803jpy (approx)

*This is the bomb NNCK dropped on ATP, December 2006. Entirely new sequence and improved mastering and fidelity from the CDR version.

BILLY BAO- FUCK SEPARATION 10” (s-s, usa)
11.98usd/5.88gbp/7.68eur/1201jpy (approx)

*Dont tell the INS, but Billy Bao is here. These internationalists destroy all boarders with the grinding bludgeon of pummeling sound. Two lonnnnnnggggg songs churn relentless riffs into wretched pounding and go back. Sub-metal, dirt dirge primitivism that attacks the shit nation
state. For one from Billy Baos last one check out “Bilbos Incinerator” Embrace the degeneration of rock & roll! Fans of Brainbombs, Stickmen with Rayguns, Pissed Jeans, Drunk with Guns, etc. take note. White vinyl. Screened sleeves.

ASTRAL SOCIAL CLUB- MODEL TOWN IN A FIELD OF MUD LP (textile, france)
22.98usd/11.28gbp/14.74eur/2304jpy (approx)

*Model Town in a field of Mud is the result of a collaboration between Neil Cambell and John Clyde Evans. This album was recorded largely thru the post during Johns year long stay in India. (although the very last few minutes are the duo live in Sheffield right after he returned). This album is a 50/50 collaboration, hopefully the first of many! John Clyde Evans has a lenghty career, even if he did "disappear" for a few years. John was in the band Hood (Domino Recordings) then cut a couple of great solo records, then disapeared, reappearing using his Sikh name of Tirath Singh Nirmala, cutting an LP with Richard Yuongs, then reverting his original name and droping the magnificent " Apetal Thunderfall" CD on us earlier this year!! Neil Campbell is a cornerstone of the UK underground and played in Vibracathedral Orchestra, Sunroof, A Band, with Richard Youngs, Damo Susuki and many many other artists. Despite some esoteric path, Model Town in a field of mud reconfirm John and Neil intentions to blast techno into the Stratosphere.

DUBSTEP AND GRIME

LIKHAN- TERRE/UNWILL 12” (7even, france)
12.98usd/6.37gbp/8.33eur/1301jpy (approx)

*the last couple of weeks have been an absolute treasure trove of low-end goodness for the more progressive bass-heads among you. Enter Likhan, a French operator who we know close to nothing about but who's pushing all the right buttons as far as we're concerned, here punching in two stripped bass killers that will absolutely crush dub reductionists amongst you with its impeccable production and unfussy arrangements. Admittedly we think this material sounds much much better slowed down to 33, but nonetheless Likhan has bought himself entry to that exclusive club inhabited by the likes of A Made Up Sound, Peverelist, Appleblim, T++ and the like, pushing boundaries and keeping the development and enrichment of style and function at the forefront of masterly sonic objectives.

FUSED FORCES- THE FUSED FORCE 12” (fused forces, uk)
12.98usd/6.37gbp/8.33eur/1301jpy (approx)

*Four heavy cuts from some of Essex's finest.

WARRIOR QUEEN AND THE HEATWAVE- THINGS CHANGE 12” (soul jazz, uk)
11.98usd/5.88gbp/7.68eur/1201jpy (approx)

*New killer dancehall bomb from Warrior Queen on Soul Jazz Records! Warrior Queen is one of the most in-demand vocalists on the dubstep, dancehall and grime scenes at present. She has released records with Skream, The Bug, Kode9, DJ Zinc and many more (on labels such as Rephlex, Soul Jazz, Hyperdub, Tempa, Casual and more). Warrior Queen began her career in Jamaica, MCing on her uncles soundsystem in Kingston and quickly elevating to releasing dancehall tracks on the Penthouse label. Since first releasing records in the UK she has worked with some of the finest underground producers in the country. Her previous release on Soul Jazz Records was as Ladybug (with Kevin Martin, aka The Bug) with 'Them A Bomb We,' about the 7th of July Tube bombings. This new track 'Things Change' is about the politics of life between Jamaica and the UK. Heatwave's original productions and re-mixes have previously been released on their own Scandal Bag, Punchline and Heatwave labels including their infamous DJ-friendly dancehall versions of Kelis's 'Trick Me' and Lily Allen's 'LDN.' Warrior Queen's 'Thing Change' is taken from the forthcoming An England Story, a history of UK MC culture featuring an incredible array of dancehall/hip-gop/grime MCs over the last 25 years with artists such as Roots Manuva, General Levy, Estelle, London Posse, Stush, Tippa Irie, Warrior Queen and many, many more.

BIOME- STATE OF EMERGENCY/AGITATED 12” (subsonik, uk)
11.98usd/5.88gbp/7.68eur/1201jpy (approx)

*Debut dubstep business from Manchester's Biome on subsonik records. Flying the Manc steppers flag high, Biome work all their presets into a murky pit of bass drops and caustic lead riffs on 'State of Emergency,' drawing stylistic influence from fellow Manc heads Omen and Mark One, with hung halfsteppers beats and comically gloomy atmospheres. 'Agitated' on the flip, bear-hugs the standard dubstep template with another dank and skanky riddim primed for big dubstep floors. --Boomkat

BENGA- DIARY OF AN AFRO WARRIOR 3LP (tempa, uk)
25.98usd/12.75gbp/16.66eur/2605jpy (approx)

*Diary Of An Afro Warrior is one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year. If Burial's Untrue dominated 2007's end of year critics charts then it's odds on Diary Of An Afro Warrior will do the same in 2008. Dubstep's trickle into the mainstream has been steady; Skream and Burial alike have nudged the door open. Benga is undoubtedly the force to smash it through and take dubstep to another level. Much more than just a straight dubstep album, the tracks on Diary... have been favorably compared to such names as Carl Craig, Underground Resistance, Reprazent and Massive Attack.

COKI- TORTURED/SHATTERED 12” (tempa, uk)
11.98usd/5.88gbp/7.68eur/1201jpy (approx)

*restocked… Two of the biggest dubs from one of the biggest producers in the scene finally hit the streets on Tempa. Coki's work as one half of Digital Mystikz has seen the duo rise to be one of the most influential forces in dubstep. His trademark twisted basslines are in full effect here, with the dubplate anthem 'Tortured' smashing up raves from DMZ & FWD in the UK to Dub War in New York. The distinctive minimal intro of 'Shattered' forces the listener to wait for the inevitable bass drop -- and what a drop it is.

D1- TRIAL RUN 2X12” (tempa, uk)
17.98usd/8.83gbp/11.53eur/1803jpy (approx)

*restocked… D1 touches down once again on Tempa with a scorching EP of futuristic beats. With his rhythms getting battered down at FWD>> & DMZ, & his unique deep musical style pricking up ears all over the globe, the time is right to unleash this varied package. With 'Trial Run' & 'Greazy' both mainstays of Youngsta's groundbreaking sets, this EP also finds space for the break-infused halfstep of 'Foundation,' the dark energy of 'Malfunction' & the soulful Rhodes & vocals of Skream favorite 'Mind & Soul.' 'Quantum Jazz' rounds things off with a journey into Carl Craig style jazz techno futurism.

D1- MISSIN'/COCAINE/FIRIN' BLANKS 12” (tempa, uk)
11.98usd/5.88gbp/7.68eur/1201jpy (approx)

*restocked… Talented young London producer D1 comes with his second release on the legendary Tempa label. 'Missin'' has been a mainstay of influential dubstep DJ Youngsta sets for some time now, with distinctive rave stabs and the deepest sub bass around. Kode 9 featured 'Cocaine' on his futuristic Dubstep Allstars Volume 3 mix, whilst 'Firin' Blanks' showcases D1's unique string-laden orchestral style. A truly cutting-edge package from one of the leading labels in dubstep.

D1- DEGREES 12” (tempa, uk)
11.98usd/5.88gbp/7.68eur/1201jpy (approx)

*restocked… Moving over from Soulja for his first release on Tempa, D1 delivers a production sound that seems more mature than his years. His trademark soundtrack/dubstep fusion has been getting both 'Degrees,' and flipside 'Identity,' some heavy dancefloor rotation. DJ support has been coming from Youngsta.

HEADHUNTER- FUTUREBOUND 12” (tempa, uk)
11.98usd/5.88gbp/7.68eur/1201jpy (approx)

*restocked… rising bristol star drops his first 12" for tempa. As a member of Bristol's notorious h.e.n.c.h. crew he has been repping the dubstep sound hard in the South West. After blistering sets at FWD>> in London & the h.e.n.c.h club night & Pinch's Subloaded rave in Bristol, this release cements his reputation as a major new talent in dubstep. All three tracks have been mainstays of pioneering dubstep DJ Youngsta's sets on dubplate, and have received plays from Plastician (BBC Radio One) and by Ntype on Rinse.

SKREAM- SKREAM! 3LP (tempa, uk)
19.98usd/9.81gbp/12.82eur/2003jpy (approx)

*restocked… The highly anticipated debut album from Skream: Croydon's musical wonderkid. At 15 he discovered making music. Five years later he's helped to change the course of UK urban music, having helped build the foundations of dubstep, the UK's most talked about new musical genre. Skream's clipped, techy minimal style has quickly become his trademark. Long before grime existed, it reflected dark murky streets and sinister nights, the sound of decaying London and its frustrated communities, stuck out in satellite towns and sink estates with nothing but a PC and freely available software to channel their frustration into. Stuck in front of a PC for days on end, that's exactly what Skream did. His signature tune, the scene's anthem 'Midnight Request Line' -- on Tempa records -- is an explosion of electro arpeggios and dub sub-bass. It's a tune you can sing along to: Skream has it as his own ringtone. From the opening haunting strings of 'Tortured Soul' which calls to mind the work of Phillip Glass or Aphex Twin, to the mysterious shimmering 'Midnight Request Line,' to the more optimistic chords and guitar of 'Dutch Flowerz,' to the heavy vocal cuts featuring Warrior Queen and JME ('Check-It' and 'Tapped' respectively) and heavy digi-sounds of 'Auto-Dub,' it's clear that this is a sonic visionary at work.

SKREAM- TAPPED/DUTCH FLOWERS 12” (tempa, uk)
11.98usd/5.88gbp/7.68eur/1201jpy (approx)

*restocked… 'Tapped' has been blowing minds at raves for some time now, its arpeggiated electro riffs bouncing against the bassline and tuff percussion. Vocalled on 'Skream!' by JME (Roll Deep/Boy Better Know), the hottest MC in grime, 'Tapped' has 'anthem' written all over it. 'Dutch Flowerz' has a summery skank to it with reggae horns & a deep dubby feel & has been getting rewinds at FWD>>, DMZ, Dubloaded & Transmission.

SKREAM- LOEFAH REMIXES 12” (tempa, uk)
11.98usd/5.88gbp/7.68eur/1201jpy (approx)

*restocked… Third Skream 12" on Tempa. In a deadly explosion of sub bass, Tempa let off two Loefah bombs. Loefah's remix of 'I' slams into a deadly sub in a nu-school Loefah style, all condensed darkness and inferred space. His remix of 'Monsoon' was built two years ago when he was first incubating his halfstep ideas, and it takes a full two anticipation-building minutes to drop.

SKREAM- MIDNIGHT REQUEST LINE 12” (tempa, uk)
11.98usd/5.88gbp/7.68eur/1201jpy (approx)

*restocked… The shot-heard-round-the-world banger that was killing the game for a hot minute even before it hit 12". This one might just go down in the history books as the one that cracked the whole game wide open, international style -- it's been talked about in Vice, De:Bug, and on just about every music blog you can think of. Possibly the final link in the chain connecting grime and dubstep, as evidenced by the likewise talked-about freestyles Dizzee dropped over the A-side on RinseFM. About as good a starting point for dubstep as the interested but uninitiated could hope for, total future classic now. --Rob Buschgans

SKREAM- SKREAMIZM VOL.1 2X12” (tempa, uk)
15.98usd/7.84gbp/10.25eur/1602jpy (approx)

*restocked… Following the massive success of Request Line, Skream is officially on fire right now! To celebrate, Tempa are releasing this extensive 6 track doublepack. 'Smiley Face' is dubwise vocal dubstep, and 'Untitled' (as featured on Youngsta's Dubstep Allstars Vol. 2 mix CD) is all electro melodies and intricate woodblocks. 'Lightening' rinses the Amen break, while 'Rottan' is a must-have tune with an irresistible skanked-out riff.

SKREAM- SKREAMIZM VOL.2 2X12” (tempa, uk)
15.98usd/7.84gbp/10.25eur/1602jpy (approx)

*restocked… No man can keep Skream down right now as he unleashes a slew of new dubs for the dancefloor. The latest installment in the Skreamizm series sees the long awaited release of anthem after anthem. Tempa are proud to announce that Skream is also currently working on his much anticipated debut album due for release later this year. For sneak previews check him on Rinse FM's Stella Sessions, launched recently with the immortal line: 'Welcome planet Earth to the Skream show'.

V/A- TEMPA ALLSTARS VOL. 2 2X12” (tempa, uk)
17.98usd/8.83gbp/11.53eur/1803jpy (approx)

*restocked… Very welcome reissue of this Tempa double pack, originally released at a critical evolutionary point, December '04. The track listing tells you as much, with pioneering heads Geeneus and El-B on the A/B, preceding now-rulers Kode9, Digital Mystikz, D1 and Loefah, who fill the remaining sides. All the tracks are heaters, especially D1's infamous 'Crack Bong' (later remixed by Loefah and smashed on Dubstep Allstars Vol. 2), the Mystikz' 'Give Jah Glory' and Loefah's early monster 'Truly Dread,' a clear sign of things to come for the man. The tracks literally get darker with every side, and listening with hindsight you can arguably hear dubstep turn a corner and come fully into its own right here. An essential document and now-classic release, back on the table. -- Rob Buschgans

WONDER- WHAT: CASPA REMIX 12” (wonderland, uk)
11.98usd/5.88gbp/7.68eur/1201jpy (approx)

*Classic Wonder tracked remastered & reissued, including brand new killer Caspa remix on the back of his amazing rework of Matty G on Argon.

HOUSE, TECHNO AND DISCO

CHAIM- MOON 12” (bpitch control, germany)
11.98usd/5.88gbp/7.68eur/1201jpy (approx)

*Chaim from Tel Aviv presents a debut that possesses more than one surprise. "Moon" displays a free groove with the help of some dignified effects, making you want to throw your hands in the air. "Wednesday June" is a bit more minimal, with groove that structures itself into a bubbling bass line, dissolved by one of these typically Chaim-melodies, which anchor themselves deeply into the head -- only for catching dreams under the light of the moon, on a Wednesday in June.

MINILOGUE- JAMAICA 12” (cocoon, germany)
12.98usd/6.37gbp/8.33eur/1301jpy (approx)

*The two Swedes Sebastian Mullaert and Marcus Henriksson are already a well-known name in the psy-trance scene as Son Kite. As Minilogue, they now conquer the minimal and house world. With their rather unique sound, they manage the tightrope walk between minimal and trance and never allow us to put them into a drawer. Jamaica features two calm tunes where organic matter and groovy sounds are worked into a detailed minimal labyrinth. Say YES to techno made in Sweden.

PINEAPPLES- COME ON CLOSER 12” (flexx, belgium)
11.98usd/5.88gbp/7.68eur/1201jpy (approx)

*restocked… A re-issue of one of most in-demand Italo-disco records. Produced by Roberto Ferrante in '83 at the tender age of 18, 'Come On Closer' is a true party disco gem conceived with the minimal setup of a drum machine and a Korg synth and with the deep manly vocals of Douglas Roop. This used to be (and actually still is) a big track in the late '80s Chicago house scene, frequently played by the Hotmix 5 crew and charted in Mickey Oliver's all time top 10. Pure party Italo-disco like no other!

BOBBY DAVENPORT- TIME HAS COME TODAY 12” (flexx, belgium)
11.98usd/5.88gbp/7.68eur/1201jpy (approx)

*restocked… The 6th release brings back a forgotten dance classic from 1983 by Bobby Davenport. A cheeky cover of the Chambers Brothers' 'Time Has Come Today,' produced by Randy Sills and Peter Hirsh. This is pure electronic disco with very tight drums, an arpeggiated (almost acidic) bassline and some vocoder vocal action. The absolutely insane synth line will make you scream and maybe even pop your speakers with its 8-bit rawness and ultra-catchy melody. This track is just all over the place, what were they thinking? We have no idea, but it works the floor like nothing else.

BILLY DALESSANDRO- SOULCHASER 12” (harthouse, germany)
12.98usd/6.37gbp/8.33eur/1301jpy (approx)

*After having published more than 20 EPs and two full length albums Billy Dalessandro arrived at the first league of worldwide respected producers. His third album Into The Atom can be seen as a milestone of the Chicago-based musician's history. He publishes a mixture of Chicago style funk and deep minimal electronic style. Here are 3 gems born out of his virtuosity you can't miss. A1: 'Soulchaser' Undercover Mix -- Highly addictive and percussive slightly forward oriented track with great spheres. 'Great' has to be written with triple 'e' because it is used a dramatic element which pokes out of the deep and tricky basement. Playful effects and intelligent beat programming sum up to a really special atmosphere -- somewhere between -- but precise as hell!

ANTONELLI- SOULKILLER 2LP (italic, germany)
21.98usd/10.79gbp/14.10eur/2204jpy (approx)

*Italic would like to announce Antonelli's new album Soulkiller. It is Stefan Schwander (aka Antonelli)'s 6th album and was produced using analog drum machines, synthesizers and sequencers only and recorded live without any overdubs onto an old-school tape recorder. The result is amazing: Antonelli's house music on Soulkiller is so incredibly rough and emotional that it reminds of the garage rock from the Stooges. And the tracks sound like ESG doing cover versions of 'Moodymann.' Moreover, you will find flamboyant pop references, from Bohannon to Terry Hall.

SKAT- CONCRETE JUNGLE 12” (karat, france)
11.98usd/5.88gbp/7.68eur/1201jpy (approx)

*Here we go again with Skat for his new release on Karat. You will note that this one is a bit more functional even if the whole mood is still deep. You can find 'Nightwalk,' originally released on the Katapult 3 compilation CD and finally on vinyl, and also a remix by Kenny Hawkes and David Parr, appreciated producers from England. The two other tracks are built for the floor, quite efficient and fine.

NERK & DIRK LEYERS- PERSE X 12” (klang elektronik, germany)
11.98usd/5.88gbp/7.68eur/1201jpy (approx)

*Nerk & Dirk Leyers present their debut release on Klang Elektronik. "Perse" gives all the minimal-zombies the final death blow with squeaks and groans, making your eyes pop out while bursting your brain. "X" is a more classic Detroit techno piece of music, but has at least as much pressure.

STYLE OF EYE- THE PROPHET 12” (pickadoll, germany)
12.98usd/6.37gbp/8.33eur/1301jpy (approx)

*Pickadoll roster and his first release on the label reached underground hit status in the electro house scene. Coming from a more experimental background he has now grown into a true peak-time maestro, bringing in fresh and innovative ideas. Fantastic synthesizer work, catchy beats and effective arrangements make this a wonderful and deadly club monster 12". Sure shot for all fans of Dahlbäck, Claude VonStroke, Prydz, Angello or Ingrosso.

MARTINEZ- A CHEMICAL IMBALANCE 2LP (re:connected, germany)
19.98usd/9.81gbp/12.82eur/2003jpy (approx)

*Previously reissued on cd by Re:Connected, now issued on double LP format as well. This is the second full-length record by Copenhagen-based Martinez. This very special double pack vinyl edition includes 8 brand new tracks, all produced by Martinez during the spring and summer of 2007. You'll find the trademark sounds of Re:connected, in tracks such as "La Macchina," with its rolling hypnotic rhythm and bleepy metallic sounds. Martinez also adds some elements from his early influences of deep house with the track "Lowdown" -- its lush and laid-back pads lay out a deep but uplifting atmosphere to the otherwise dark soundscape of the album. There are also some trippy experimental dub grooves on tracks like "The Turtle-March," with that weird voice coming in and its tripped-out percussion flowing on top of a heavy sub-bass. A Chemical Imbalance is a sonic mood swing between ambient, minimal, techno, deep house and dub.

TETINE- I GO TO THE DOCTOR! 12” (soul jazz, uk)
11.98usd/5.88gbp/7.68eur/1201jpy (approx)

*Killer punk-funk/new wave 12" featuring the São Paulo based group Tetine along with a wicked reworking on the CSS Remix. Tetine are Bruno Verner and Eliete Mejorado. This is their second release on Soul Jazz Records and is a taster for their forthcoming album Let Your X's Be Y's, a wild mix-up of punk-funk/new wave/post-punk/baile-bass. Integral to the same vibrant São Paulo music scene in Brazil that has now produced both CSS and Bonde de Role, Tetine's music is similarly a mixture of raw punky energy and attitude mixed with bass-heavy dance music. Tetine are in-fact the forerunners of this scene having now released 8 albums in Brazil since they formed in São Paulo in 1995.

OSBORNE- RULING 12” (spectral sound, usa)
11.98usd/5.88gbp/7.68eur/1201jpy (approx)

*Osborne is a Lego-sculpting, electron microscope-owning, Japanese speaking über-producer. He is, in fact, house music's MacGyver. Todd has been championed across the board by Gilles Peterson to Aphex Twin, from UR's Mad Mike to Warp's Flying Lotus. This 12" was written on his own music software on a hand-built computer, and is a testament to a life of walking the walk. Pure dancefloor-ready house that provides a taste of much more to come from this up-and-comer.

GEDDES- TRIAL & ERROR 12” (tsuba, uk)
12.98usd/6.37gbp/8.33eur/1301jpy (approx)

*Tsuba is proud to present the debut single from Geddes, one third of Rekleiner alongside Audiofly and the man behind London and Ibiza's infamous Mulletover parties. 'Trial' and 'Error' show two distinct sides to Geddes musical personality -- 'Trial' is atmospheric deep house with a lighter vibe and 'Error' is darker, moodier tech house with shades of Konrad Black. Dynamic and Kindisch records rising star H.O.S.H has delivered a super hot remix. It's deep, hypnotic and spacey house underpinned with that all-important jackin' bassline. As a DJ, Geddes now holds international prominence with appearances in 2007 at Berlin's Panorama Bar and Watergate, D!Club in Lausanne and the Loft in Barcelona. Past performances have brought him success with large crowds as well as small taking in modest spaces, Frankfurt's Robert Johnson to the more substantial masses at Sunday Best's infamous Bestival and Renaissance 'Wild in The Country' festival.

DANTON EEPROM- TO THE BONE 12” (tsuba, uk)
12.98usd/6.37gbp/8.33eur/1301jpy (approx)

*Danton Eeprom made his Tsuba debut last year with 'One Thing Leads To Another' and has since released records on Freak n Chic and his own Fondation imprint. The follow up for Tsuba, 'To The Bone' has already been included on the Steve Lawler Viva London album and has Danton's trademark dark funk throughout. The vocal is what really makes this and Danton stand out from the crowd. This man is going to be huge this year! For the remix Jamie Jones delivers a stunner, adding his trademark trippy and hypnotic touches to the original. With Danton and Jamie on the same 12", it's another big Tsuba release.

THE HACKER & ERIC BORGO- ZONE 12” (tsuba, uk)
12.98usd/6.37gbp/8.33eur/1301jpy (approx)

*restocked… What better way to start 2008 than with the huge 'Zone' by The Hacker & Eric Borgo, already licensed to Jennifer Cardini's new Kompakt compilation. The Hacker needs no introduction -- a true pioneer with album releases on his own Goodlife label (with his friends Oxia and Alex Reynaud) and with Miss Kitten on DJ Hell's Gigolo imprint. In 2001 at the dawn of electroclash, they were booked all over the world with Miss Kittin appearing as a dominant nurse and The Hacker cold as ice behind the machines and decks. In 2007, Michel describes his style as 'classic Detroit-style with Jeff Mills in mind.' Long term friend and Tsuba artist Eric Borgo teams up with Michel on the moody techno of 'Zone.' For the remix, it's a great coup to have the first mix from Ivan Smagghe & Tim Paris' new project 'Its A Fine Line.' The result, as you would expect, is a club mix that's typical Smagghe -- brooding, moody electro with a super-tight groove and eerie synths. It's a big one!
