a very, very (very) abbreviated list of this weeks new arrivals… moving into my new apt and other shop duties spread me a little thin this week, but i’ll make sure that next weeks list more than makes up for it. aside from the choice vinyl offerings in shop, i’m totally stoked to get in new tequila sunrise tote bags. they’re super nice, they hold up to ten records and come in some sweet springtime colors. check out the links below for a sneak peek, or come on by and check em out!

ROCK, POP AND PSYCHEDELIC
SCOTT WALKER- SCOTT LP (4 men with beards, usa)
18.98usd/9.52gbp/12.47eur/1996jpy (approx)
*One of the most enigmatic figures in pop music history Scott Walker (nee Scott Engel) first saw massive success in England with his band The Walker Brothers in 1965. Not really brothers, nor were they British, the trio left Hollywood seeking fame in England, and they found it there for a time with their particular brand of orchestrated pop. Following the group's demise in 1967, Walker set out to pursue solo stardom in perhaps the most peculiar way possible, with over-the-top baroque pop songs owing more to his idol Jacques Brel, Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra than they did to The Beatles or The Stones. This is his first solo LP from 1967 and features 3 of his own compositions along with covers of songs by Brel, Tim Hardin, and the Brill Building team of Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann. A true original.
SCOTT WALKER- SCOTT 2 LP (4 men with beards, usa)
18.98usd/9.52gbp/12.47eur/1996jpy (approx)
*Originally released in 1968, Scott 2 made it all the way to number one on the UK pop charts, perhaps the strangest number one hit in pop history. Continuing with his orchestral obsession, Scott 2 features over-the-top string and horn arrangements, occasionally veering into dangerously schmaltzy territory. This production style is in drastic contrast to the lyrical content, songs of despair, prostitution, homosexuality, and brutal honesty, indicting the same glamorous and glitzy lifestyle that his baroque pop style emblemizes. Along with many originals, Scott 2 features songs by Jacques Brel, Tim Hardin, and Bacharach/David.
LUIE LUIE- TOUCHY CD (companion, usa)
15.98usd/8.02gbp/10.50eur/1680jpy (approx)
*Some years ago, a Los Angeles area collector stumbled across an orphaned copy of Touchy in a thrift store. It was shared through tape trading networks and bootlegged on vinyl -- now, Companion Records is proudly offering this first official Touchy CD release. Luie Luie has to be the most jaw-dropping one-man band lounge act found to date. Touchy serves as a conceptual dance album, an experimental album, as well as a sort of healing LP for '60s burn-outs. What can his music be compared to? Nothing that we know of. Luis Johnston is a Southern California screenwriter, painter, and musician who's spent the past 30 years working in almost complete obscurity. But he's also written and starred in a feature film and shaken hands with Elvis Presley. Luie has been playing live at various restaurants, lounges, and country clubs for three decades and is still going strong. He released a handful of 45s in the '70s and one full-length LP, Touchy in 1974. And he continues to record unknown quantities of yet-to-be-released CDs. This deluxe CD version is housed in a digipak sleeve, includes 2 'Touchy buttons,' a 20-page booklet with rare photos, concert flyers, art work, and a new introduction from Luie himself which sheds some light on his original inspiration for the album.
ERKIN KORAY- ELEKTRONIK TÜRKÜLER LP (gdr, italy)
34.98usd/17.55gbp/22.99eur/3679jpy (approx)
*finally reissued again on vinyl… You probably won't find any other Turkish psych record better than this. A real killer from start to finish, this was originally released in 1974, and is a brutal masterpiece of psychedelic rock blended with Turkish traditional music. The electric guitar of Erkin is outstanding, so is the electric saz used here too, and all tracks are absolutely fantastic. We cannot recommend this one more than we do. Limited reissue of 500 copies with the original artwork in a beautiful gatefold cover.
V/A- LOVIN' FIRE: 20 OBSCURE GEMS FROM THE UK AND EUROPE 2LP (gdr, italy)
32.98usd/16.54gbp/21.67eur/3468jpy (approx)
*Previously issued on CD by Psychic Circle, now issued on deluxe LP format as well; 180 gram pressing. Brand new prog compilation containing rarities, compiled by legendary psych musician and Psychic Circle label-head, Nick Saloman (The Bevis Frond). As the '60s gave way to the '70s, it wasn't just fashion that was in a frenzied state of flux. Music, too, was undergoing a seismic transformation. By late '69, progressive rock was becoming established as the prevailing musical genre, a position it was to occupy until the birth of punk in the next decade. This compilation comprises 20 unknown diamonds, previously un-comped on CD, from prog's early days. Artists include: Silence, Ray Owen's Moon, Ipsissimus, The Warm Sensation, Pacific Sound, Apartment 1, White Mule, Left Side, Mayroc, The Exchange And Mart, The Royal Servants, Custer's Track, Rainbows, The Locomotive, Andromeda, Whichwhat, The Influence, Children, Hunter and Paul Nicholas.
V/A- FAIRYTALES CAN COME TRUE: UK POPSIKE FROM THE LATE 60'S 2LP (gdr, italy)
32.98usd/16.54gbp/21.67eur/3468jpy (approx)
*Previously issued on CD by Psychic Circle, now issued on deluxe 2LP format as well; 180 gram pressing. Twenty previously-uncomped tracks of enchanting UK pop-psych, compiled by legendary psych musician and Psychic Circle label-head, Nick Saloman (The Bevis Frond). You'll find the pre-Fairport Iain Matthews, the only single from Jackie Lomax's Lomax Alliance, Gallagher & Lyle's unique response to Pet Sounds & a Troggs-like gem from P.J. Proby's hairdresser! Compilers and collectors alike know that there was some wonderful music coming out of the UK in the late '60s and it wasn't all-out psychedelia or floor-filling blue-eyed soul. Sure, all these tracks have a psychy feel, and some of them would pack a dancefloor, but really they're more concerned with harmony and pop sensibility. These are dazzling tracks, all very melodic and very refreshing.

DEAD MEADOW- OLD GROWTH 2LP (matador, usa)
24.98usd/12.53gbp/16.41eur/2627jpy (approx)
*We've longed for the day when LA-via-DC transplants dead meadow would drop a studio album that matched the power of one of the best shows on the planet. With Old Growth, the firm of Simon, Kille and McCarty have delivered a remarkably clear, powerful and confident recording that should elevate the trio into the pantheon of great guitar bands of our time.
Recorded at both a haunted rural Indiana farmhouse, and at LA's Sunset Sound (in the studio where many of the tracks for Led Zeppelin IV were laid down), Jason Simon continues his reign as a modern-day Jimi, while the rhythm section recalls the creativity and tension of Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker.
Darlings of both the stoner rock and modern psychedelia worlds (and featured in the new movie on heavy rock named after one of their tracks, "Such Hawks, Such Hounds"), DEAD MEADOW transcend both. Over the last ten years, they've reacted to the country's swelling conservatism with a particularly escapist, surreal, lovely, and deafening sound of their own, and an exponentially growing audience tuning in.
V/A- ALPHABEAT: POP, PSYCH & PROG ROCK 1967-1970 LP (top sounds, uk)
27.98usd/14.04gbp/18.39eur/2942jpy (approx)
*LP version. Contains an 11-page lavishly illustrated magazine-style booklet, and housed in authentic '60s fashion with a laminated sleeve... Compiled and realized by Nigel Lees (author of much of Record Collector magazine's long running series 'The British Psychedelic Trip'), Alphabeat marks the debut release on his own label Top Sounds, a collection which brings together 13 rare slices of pop, psychedelia and progressive rock recorded during 1967-1970. Only 2 have appeared previously on compilations, the remainder bar the obscure 1970 45 by Mississippi have never been released and make their vinyl and CD debut on Alphabeat. All tracks have been professionally restored and the release includes an informative and profusely illustrated 24-page booklet which features histories of all the artists, together with many photos which have never been published before. The release has the blessing of at least one member of each group and in some cases several. Many of the selections on Alphabeat were not even known to exist before the release of the compilation, and few connoisseurs of obscure late '60s pop, psych and prog will be disappointed with its contents. Dubbed from a master supplied by a Belgian television company, 'Foxy Lady' and 'Toad' were recorded live at a pop festival in 1968 and prove The Barrier to be as exciting on stage as on their best singles from the same year, while Mississippi impress with their heavy bluesy rock which is lifted from their lone and very rare 45 from 1970. The pigeonholing of Breakthru as a lightweight pop act through their only single 'Ice Cream Tree' is devastatingly dismissed by the unveiling of 2 incendiary slices of psychedelically-inclined rock recorded at a Birmingham studio in late 1967, and an unknown group who recorded at R.G Jones' OAK studios sound uncannily like The Game 3 years on with the slow burning 'First Back From Heaven.' The Pathfinders' 'Pumpkin Lantern' has appeared before on compilations on a number of occasions, but thanks to the discovery of another acetate copy, it's presented here in premium quality together for the first time with its previously ignored but very special rendering of the Bee Gees' 'To Love Somebody.' Graded Grains have presented psych collectors with a mystery and an enigma since their acetate of 'Animal Magic' and ' Lucifer Sam' was unearthed for Chocolate Soup For Diabetics Volume 3 way back in the early '80s, and such was their dogged obscurity that some came to believe there was no such band called Graded Grains at all. Top Sounds however, are able to present 4 tracks recorded on the continent in Paris in 1969 which beautifully exhibit authentic pop psych with a marked Barrett-era Pink Floyd influence, one of which is a later (and much cleaner!) take of the famed 'Animal Magic.' And last but by no means least, the legendary blues band Black Cat Bones prove their versatility and deliver an uptempo psych-flavored rocker called 'Warmth Of The Day,' which aside from inclusion on a fairly recent bootleg has only previously been available on the rare 1969 promotional for the QE2 ocean liner.

THE CRIBS- MEN'S NEEDS, WOMEN'S NEEDS, WHATEVER LP (warner bros, usa)
18.98usd/9.52gbp/12.47eur/1996jpy (approx)
*One of the best British rock bands to emerge in years, The Cribs make their major label debut with Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever. Produced by Franz Ferdinand's Alex Kapranos, the album finds the fraternal Jarman trio – twins Ryan and Gary, and kid brother Ross – blasting out perfect pop songs with provocative punk power. The melodies are brash and memorable, the hooks undeniable and the lyrics spiced with intelligence and a healthy cynicism. Capturing their famed onstage ferocity, Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever introduces The Cribs to America.
CAN- TAGO MAGO 2LP (united artists, usa)
19.98usd/10.02gbp/13.13eur/2101jpy (approx)
*With the band in full artistic flower and Suzuki's sometimes moody, sometimes frenetic speak/sing/shrieking in full effect, Can released not merely one of the best Krautrock albums of all time, but one of the best albums ever, period. Tago Mago is that rarity of the early '70s, a double album without a wasted note, ranging from sweetly gentle float to full-on monster grooves. "Paperhouse" starts things brilliantly, beginning with a low-key chime and beat, before amping up into a rumbling roll in the midsection, then calming down again before one last blast. Both "Mushroom" and "Oh Yeah," the latter with Schmidt filling out the quicker pace with nicely spooky keyboards, continue the fine vibe. After that, though, come the huge highlights — three long examples of Can at its absolute best. "Halleluwah" — featuring the Liebezeit/Czukay rhythm section pounding out a monster trance/funk beat; Karoli's and Schmidt's always impressive fills and leads; and Suzuki's slow-building ranting above everything — is 19 minutes of pure genius. The near-rhythmless flow of "Aumgn" is equally mind-blowing, with swaths of sound from all the members floating from speaker to speaker in an ever-evolving wash, leading up to a final jam. "Peking O" continues that same sort of feeling, but with a touch more focus, throwing in everything from Chinese-inspired melodies and jazzy piano breaks to cheap organ rhythm boxes and near babbling from Suzuki along the way. "Bring Me Coffee or Tea" wraps things up as a fine, fun little coda to a landmark record. -- Ned Raggett
PUNK AND POST-PUNK
V/A- BIPP: FRENCH-SYNTH-WAVE 1979-85 CD (everloving, usa)
17.98usd/9.02gbp/8.09eur/1891jpy (approx)
*Like old pogo-rific punk-pop? A fan of analog synthesizers and pale, razor sharp guitars? Enjoy Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" a little more than you want your friends to know? Well, Bippp is here to satisfy your jones with a baker's dozen of hyper obscure French bands that boldly doffed skinny ties and made hay from the scary decade where Reagan ruled the world. A Trois Dans Les WC's "Contagion" starts things off with jittery catchiness and then the compilation grows more prog-touched and melancholy as it goes. Outside of really hip French teens alive and buying outside the box in the years covered, most of us will be blissfully unaware of Deux, Casino Music, Les Visiteurs Du Soir or any of the other folks included here. It's amazing how the tangled wires and flashing lights of these tunes still seem so relevant, but we are living in the plastic age, aren't we? --Jambase
AVANT GARDE AND NOISE
THE MAGIC I.D.- TILL MY BREATH GIVES OUT LP (erstwhile, usa)
27.98usd/14.04gbp/18.39eur/2942jpy (approx)
*The Magic I.D. is a Berlin-based quartet consisting of Margareth Kammerer, Christof Kurzmann, Kai Fagaschinski and Michael Thieke, which formed in the summer of 2005 after previously being connected via smaller groupings and projects, some more abstract and some more song-based. The six pieces contained here are precise collective compositions, three by the full quartet, and one from each of the three potential 'duos' (the two clarinets form one twinned instrument). Till My Breath Gives Out expands song forms through the prism of experimental sensibilities and meshes the two remarkably fluidly. Till My Breath Gives Out is being released simultaneously in two formats: foldout digipak CD and gatefold 180 gram vinyl. The content and the running order are identical; the LP version was mastered slightly differently to better fit the format. The LP is an edition of 500 copies.
ARTHUR LIPSETT- SOUNDTRACKS LP (global a, germany)
18.98usd/9.52gbp/12.47eur/1996jpy (approx)
*Mostly from the 1960s, emerging from the Beats, his films are dense cut-ups to do with themes like science and spirituality, religious mania and Cold War paranoia, Apocalypse and nuclear melt-down, consumerism and nothingness, rituals and machines, all that good stuff. The films started out as the sound collages finely presented here in a top-notch pressing -- tightly compacted clips of spoken word (Marshall MacLuhan, religious loons, newsreel announcers, TV scientists, bullshit politicians), in with noise (factories, helicopters, bombs) and music (jazz, gospel, parade-ground, church) -- sometimes manipulated, often highly rhythmic, still so captivating and chilling.
BORN RUFFIANS- RED YELLOW & BLUE LP (warp, uk)
18.98usd/9.52gbp/12.47eur/1996jpy (approx)
*Produced by Rusty Santos, the New York mixer behind Animal Collective and Panda Bear's albums, this record exemplifies the Ruffians' brand of self-described 'hootin and hollarin'. From start to finish it's a good time, and the band knows it. With songs like the jangly 'Hedonistic Me' and the sugary sweet 'Foxes Mate for Life' to the foot stomping 'Badonkadonkey,' the band constantly pushes the boundaries of musical arrangements. Live, they have the chops of a seasoned performer, but none of the jade, performing each set like it's their last.
POCAHAUNTED- PEYOTE ROAD LP (woodsist, usa)
15.98usd/8.02gbp/10.50eur/1680jpy (approx)
*Evolving comes easier to some than others. A lot of the 21st century's chief underground ringbearers are happy mining the same psych-ditch for the same warped ore, tape after tape and day after day. But Eagle Rock, CA's Pocahaunted are too restless (and easily annoyed?) to sit still like that, and so spent all of '07 throwing ever weirder new figures and moods into their amplifier family, and Peyote Road shows the motion of their transformation agenda. The A-side ritual, 'Divine Flesh,' stirs hand drums and chimes into a bellydancing blur of voice smoke and rhythm before breaking down into its base elements and slowly reforming. The flip side, 'Heroic Doses,' documents Pocahaunted's set opening for Thurston Moore on Halloween night in the wasted and highly un-mystical California desert town of Visalia. Bobb Bruno and Britt Brown backed up the ladies' blown-out but melancholy wailing wall with electronic drums and drones, and the recording treads a dim, no-fi path into a bleak and holy void. With tribal-psychedelia collage jacket artwork by Owl Eyes. --Britt Brown.
FOLK AND BLUES
GARY HIGGINS- RED HASH LP+7" (drag city, usa)
20.98usd/10.52gbp/13.79eur/2206jpy (approx)
*1973: Connecticut native Gary Higgins and his friends record Red Hash and release it on Gary's own Nufusmoon Records. Following the release, legal issues halt all promotion and sales, rendering the small pressing of Red Hash a hotly-rumored and much sought-after 'lost' album of rock and roll lore. 2005: Drag City is honored to present the first-ever authorized reissue of Gary Higgins' acid-folk gem Red Hash -- mastered from the original master tapes with two previously unheard bonus tracks. The reviews are glowing: the haunting sound of Gary's meticulously arranged folk-pop is a sound that everyone can relate to, and Red Hash makes many year-end lists around the world as Top Reissue. 2007: What do you mean, we forgot to make a vinyl version of Red Hash in 2005? Really? Well, let's not wait another minute, we might forget again... And so, after thirty-five years, Red Hash vinyl is back in stock, with a limited-edition LP that includes a 7" single featuring the first-ever vinyl pressing of the CD bonus songs 'Don't Ya Know' and 'Last Great Sperm Whale.' This is your chance to grab at a letter-perfect reproduction of a folk-rock classic from the early 1970s. Don't space it -- score yourself a copy of Red Hash.
NEKO CASE- BLACKLISTED LP (lance rock, canada)
19.98usd/10.02gbp/13.13eur/2101jpy (approx)
*More subdued than its predecessor (Furnace Room Lullaby), Neko Case's 2002 album, Blacklisted, is the singer/songwriter's first outing not co-billed to "Her Boyfriends." Backed by a cadre of intuitive musicians that includes multi-instrumentalist Joey Burns and drummer John Convertino (both of Calexico) and their Giant Sand peer Howe Gelb (on various keys), Case offers up a largely down-tempo set that's steeped in a dreamy, noir-like atmosphere.
NEKO CASE- FOX CONFESSOR BRINGS THE FLOOD LP (lance rock, canada)
20.98usd/10.52gbp/13.79eur/2206jpy (approx)
*Neko is a major poet by any standard, a songwriter less interested perhaps in traditional narrative form than in distilling a pure moment in time. She claims no genre, nor utilizes any classic formula for her songs and singing. More than anything she thrives in the spaces in between her music. After two years in the making, Fox Confessor Brings The Flood is in many ways the sum total of her journey.
SOUNDTRACKS
ALAIN GORAGUER- LA PLANÈTE SAUVAGE LP (pathe/scorpio, usa)
15.98usd/8.02gbp/10.50eur/1680jpy (approx)
*Vinyl LP reissue of the classic soundtrack to the fantastic cult trippy French animated movie, La Planète Sauvage. Laid-back grooves and funky tracks make this an incredible listening experience. Sampled by hip-hop favourite Quasimoto on the album "The Unseen".
GLOBAL
SOFRITO SPECIALS- MUSIC IS THE WORD 12” (sofrito specials, uk)
14.98usd/7.51gbp/9.84eur/1575jpy (approx)
*'Music is the Word' is a heavy sax-driven Afro-beat featuring the talents of the young Jonas Sonko on Baritone, underpinned by the stellar Sofrito rhythm section. Sounding like one of the best Fela tracks never to be recorded, deep bass and tight guitar combine to make a bouncing Afro groove perfect for the club. The track has received strong support from DJs like Nicodemus and Quantic. 'E8 Highlife' is a tougher than tough Highlife/Afro Disco hybrid chopped and spliced by producer Capstone. Uptempo drums and mad percussion collide with a heavy rolling bassline for a future Afro experience -- watch the dancefloor ignite when you drop this one! Strictly limited to 500 copies.
DUBSTEP AND GRIME
KOSH- BRASSIC/ALIEN 12” (crater, uk)
12.98usd/6.51gbp/8.53eur/1365jpy (approx)
*Kosh opens up with 'Brassic,' amen breaks and sirens to the fore -- fully ascribing the tune to its junglist early lineage, while yet slowing down to an 007 ready tempo. 'Alien' rocks it big style, with a long intro which remains perfect for mixing, shorn of beats leading into familiar damaged bass territory. Impressive.
KROMESTAR- THE HUNGRY BULLY 12” (crater, uk)
12.98usd/6.51gbp/8.53eur/1365jpy (approx)
*Kromestar is one of the biggest dubstep producers in the scene at the moment, and a name we're sure you have come across lately with his mixes on Marxmen, Dub Steppers and more. The Hungry Bully EP is another big release to jump on, as it's already getting lots of props and could potentially become a club favorite this winter.
KROMESTAR- REMIXES: BODY COUNT/DYSEKTA/JIGSAW 12” (dub steppers, uk)
12.98usd/6.51gbp/8.53eur/1365jpy (approx)
*What with his collaboration with Cotti, a 12" on Crater and to round things off, we've managed to get this lovely slab of vinyl back in again. More dark and heavy dubstep from one of the most prolific producers around at the moment. Three tracks of some serious bass pressure.
TAYO MEETS BAOBINGA FEAT. MC SPYDA- STYLE & TREND/CHOPPA RIDDIM 12” (soul jazz, uk)
11.98usd/6.01gbp/7.87eur/1260jpy (approx)
*This unique heavyweight release mashes up ragga/grime/dubstep/dancehall and is the latest release from the ever forward-looking Tayo (this time with his studio partner Baobinga), and features original jungle/drum and bass MC Spyda on the mic. Hard-as-nails, this tune has been destroying dancefloors worldwide on dubplate for the last few months and now sees a full release on Soul Jazz Records. Most recently, Tayo featured on Soul Jazz Records' successful Box of Dub series alongside artists such as Skream, Digital Mystikz, Kode 9 and Burial. With residencies at both Fabric and Radio 1, Tayo is currently one of the UK's busiest DJ/producers releasing numerous projects on a variety of labels and has remixed artists as diverse as Basement Jaxx and Lady Sovereign. MC Spyda started out MCing on reggae sound systems in the '80s and when jungle came along in the early '90s, his reggae style vocals fit the music perfectly and has been in demand ever since! Heavyweight!

MARTINEZ- BURNING THE MIDNIGHT OIL 12” (cray1labworks, spain)
12.98usd/6.51gbp/8.53eur/1365jpy (approx)
*Played by: Adam Beyer, Magda, Loco Dice, Tadeo, 2000 and One, Miss Kittin, Laurent Garnier, Joel Mull, X-Pansul, Matt Star Groovie, dancefloor friendly and fresh is how the latest Martinez reference opens. It comes through Cray1labworks, again breaking frontiers, the Spanish label counts on the Danish genius Martínez, banner of Re:Connected, at the summit of current minimal. 'You' is an orgy of sound layers, frequencies and blurred voices. 'Stavanger' moves faster, with a vibrant percussion, overlapping and ever-changing. Dark minimal tech, remarkably complex & absolutely catchy. Perfect for even the most demanding clubs. 'Burning The Midnight Oil' opens with a rebellious force. Drums flying and bodies moving, the perfect mix between ritual & techno percussion. Suddenly it transforms into house: thick pads moving down your spine. And you are surrounded.

Miguel Sar aka Tadeo is one of the most important artists of the Spanish electronic scene. His productions for Apnea, CMYK musik and Cyclical Tracks (this label managed by himself), have been all the rave throughout the world. His latest releases, Tercer Color de Luminancia: Azul and Cosmos have been so sensational, they have been praised by many and charted by even more. Now Cray1 comes to keep up the good reviews. And for sure they will. Caos EP is a release similar to Tadeo's previous ones: hypnotic techno, serious, groovy and mental, influenced by the city of Motor, Detroit, and its great techno-masters. On one side we have 'Caos,' a vast old-school techno track, with a great melodic load and ultra-groovy. On the other side, 'Fractal,' more upfront and cutting-edge on the dancefloor. The mixture of classic and contemporary sounds is unbeatable (100% Tadeo sound), which makes each song a potential hit. Be alert and don't miss this opportunity to be the first to spin what we'll be listening to non-stop during the upcoming years. There is no doubt this is techno for the future! If that wasn't enough (something we consider unlikely), we give you the opportunity to enjoy the sensational, funky micro-tech exercise by Fusiphorm. This French producer, a regular on Foundsound, has remixed 'Fractal,' Tadeo's techno hit, giving it a minimalistic and avant-garde touch, contributing to a higher groove and and even larger dose of 'danceability.' As if it weren't already unequalled on the dancefloor.
PIG&DAN- DELIVERANCE 12” (cocoon, germany)
12.98usd/6.51gbp/8.53eur/1365jpy (approx)
*Igor Tchkotoua and Dan Duncan are two Mallorquinos and one of the most exciting techno duos of our time and Deliverance delivers absolute proof of this. With a warmly distorted, pressing bass line and a smoky voice, the title track is a DJ tool that fits the minimal raver like a custom-made suit. "Sly Detector" is atmospheric techno with a rolling hookline and a splash of acid that is already a dancefloor hit.
THE RAPTURE- HOUSE OF JEALOUS LOVERS 12” (dfa, usa)
8.98usd/4.50gbp/5.90eur/944jpy (approx)
*dfa back-catalog title in stock for the first time… a1. House Of Jealous Lovers (original)
a2. House Of Jealous Lovers (Morgan Geist version); b. Silent Morning.
THE JUAN MACLEAN/THE RAPTURE- SPLIT 12” (dfa, usa)
8.98usd/4.50gbp/5.90eur/944jpy (approx)
*dfa back-catalog title in stock for the first time… a. Give Me Every Little Thing (The Juan Maclean); b. Killing (The Rapture). Give Me Every Little Thing is the third release from The Juan MacLean, but with even more bounce to the ounce. It is like the sound of two hard drives humping to a Hot Chocolate record. It has nothing to do with fleeting trends and everything to do with a classic jam. Vocals by Nancy Whang and James Murphy of LCD soundsystem / dfa. Hot off the anthem of 2002, 'House of Jealous Lovers', The Rapture return with 'Killing', the newest single off their highly anticipated debut, Echoes. A perfect mixture of neck snapping Neptunes-esque funk and signature DFA grit.
THE JUAN MACLEAN- BY THE TIME I GET TO VENUS 12” (dfa, usa)
8.98usd/4.50gbp/5.90eur/944jpy (approx)
*dfa back-catalog title in stock for the first time… a1. By The Time I Get To Venus (original)
a2. By The Time I Get To Venus (41 Small Stars remix); b1. Tg-3x.
THE JUAN MACLEAN- YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS 12” (dfa, usa)
8.98usd/4.50gbp/5.90eur/944jpy (approx)
*dfa back-catalog title in stock for the first time… a. You Can’t Have It Both Ways (live);
b. My Time Is Running Out.
DELIA GONZALEZ AND GAVIN RUSSOM- EL MONTE 12” (dfa, usa)
8.98usd/4.50gbp/5.90eur/944jpy (approx)
*dfa back-catalog title in stock for the first time… a. El Monte; b. Rise (DFA remix). Delia Gonzalez & Gavin Russom, a beautiful couple making beautiful music together. Both play synthesizers and neither one sings. The music moves and pulses and rises and settles. Hypnotic, psychedelic and timeless. A side 'El Monte' is totally informed by classic techno and disco without even a trace of the typical 4/4. The drums are saved for the DFA remix of 'Rise', an epic and moody take on the darkwave genre, where every not, change and drum fill handled with total economic precision. Not that you would expect anything less.
LCD SOUNDSYSTEM- YEAH 12” (dfa, usa)
8.98usd/4.50gbp/5.90eur/944jpy (approx)
*dfa back-catalog title in stock for the first time… a. Yeah (crass version); b1. Yeah (pretentious version) b2. (clap-a-pella). Following up the massive success of previous singles Losing My Edge and Give It Up, Yeah has everything you have come to expect thus far from the DFA hit factory: the disco beats and percussion, the infectious bass lines, the disaffected vocals, the keyboards...it's all there. But this is more of an instant party that ever before and it ends nowhere near where it begins, with an unbelievable climax of synths, drums and acid-era mayhem. It will end many a DJ set in the year to come, as it is going to be a tough jam to follow. Crass, pretentious and very very good.
PIXELTAN- GET UP/SAY WHAT 12” (dfa, usa)
8.98usd/4.50gbp/5.90eur/944jpy (approx)
*dfa back-catalog title in stock for the first time… a. Get Up/Say What (DFA remix); b1. Get Up
b2. That’s The Way I Like It. Pixeltan are a band consisting of Devin Flynn, Mika Yoneta (both also of Plate Tectonics) and drummer Hisham Bharoocha (ex-Black Dice). The Pixeltan project was actually begun with DFA in 2001 and the DFA produced, 'Itchy Cable' was completed for inclusion on the Troubleman compilation mix tape. But things got sidetracked, for both Pixeltan and DFA. They released a self-produced EP on Troubleman, Devin and Mika formed the free-form hip hop band Plate Tectonics and Hisham got super busy with dual careers in Black Dice and as an artist/designer. In April of 2004, after Hisham left Black Dice and DFA reconnected with Devin and Mika, the never-finished tracks were revisited and work commenced once again, as the rediscovered tunes now sounded more relevant than ever. The results include the A Side, "Get Up/Say What', a DFA remix of 2 Pixeltan tracks that contain some of the subbiest, dubbed out death-disco ever to emerge from the DFA studios. Mika's vocals have taken on a whole new energy and beauty and Hisham, once known as the tribal, spastic force of Black Dice, may now be known as the premier 4 on the floor drummer on the east coast.
JONA- MANTA 12” (get physical, germany)
12.98usd/6.51gbp/8.53eur/1365jpy (approx)
*Jona is back with Manta -- a sick, expertly crafted new EP. The title track is a peak-time club weapon, with a hard kickdrum, kinetic drum edits and pressurized FX while a dizzying synth motif ravishes the listener into submission. "Amon" is all rolling bass line, acidic synth cycles, crisp percussion, jump-up vocal samples and surging narcotic effects. "Exoplanet Dub" features addictive, zig-zagging melodies guaranteed to turn your dancefloor inside out.
ITALOBOYZ- ZINGA 12” (get physical, germany)
12.98usd/6.51gbp/8.53eur/1365jpy (approx)
*Italoboyz aka Marco Donato and Federico Marton consolidate their position as dancefloor alchemists par excellence with Zinga for Get Physical. The title track is based around a looped violin, a fat kick-drum and razor-sharp hi-hats that make it a peaktime monster. The "DRAMAdub" is soaked in echo and delay, while a wraith-like counterpoint curls around it. "At De Stella" is a bleepy minimalist number with a no-nonsense groove and a voice listing food items. Italoboyz are masters of the unfamiliar.
PIEMONT- BASTILLE 12” (my best friend, germany)
11.98usd/6.01gbp/7.87eur/1260jpy (approx)
*With the Bastille EP, Piemont deliver their trademark fat productions -- both tracks are clonk groovers with occasional peaks that set the floor on fire. The title track is a true primetime rocker that fills the air with bass and sequences that make Alexander Robotnik seem boring. On the other hand, "Montmartre," is more specialized and connects psychedelia with pop.
MYMY- SOUTHBOUND/PINK FLAMINGOS 12” (ostgut, germany)
11.98usd/6.01gbp/7.87eur/1260jpy (approx)
*Southbound/Pink Flamingos is not only MyMy's debut release on Ostgut Ton, it also is the first full 12" release after their critically-acclaimed album Songs For The Gentle on Playhouse. With this 12", the duo move away from their techy style to wade knee-deep through deep house territory, delivering two percussive, swinging house tools with irresistible grooves. Both tracks are as timeless as purring cats, Pears soap and old Prescription records. This is gentlemen's music.

NEW ARRIVALS/RESTOCKS FOR FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 22
NEW ARRIVALS AND RESTOCKS FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 22
thanks for looking.
so i had to move into a new apartment this week (close to the shop, frankford and montgomery to be exact… i like it quite a bit, thanks for asking), making my time allotted for ordering limited, so this weeks update isn’t as all encompassing as i might like… ie, it’s a little light on rock and pop and heavy on dubstep and dance, and thus, what i’m really heavy on this week are some choice jams! check it out: dmz and deep medi music reissues (!!!), boka, storming and ringo restocks, new releases on qbico (rahdunes picture disc!!!), ecstatic peace, bang gang, great stuff, get physical, puzzle traxx, etc. come on by…
gracias
anthony

AVANT GARDE AND NOISE
EMERALDS/TUSCO TERROR- VAPORIZER/FERAL COUSINS LP (ecstatic peace, usa)
14.98usd/7.63gbp/10.11eur/1607jpy (approx)
*Emeralds is Mark McGuire, John Elliott & Steve Hauschildt. They are currently based in and around Cleveland, Ohio. Direct descendants of the history of adventurous punk, post-punk, whatever music spilling out of Ohio the last 35 years or so from Pere Ubu, Devo, Rocket From The Tombs, The Raspberries, The Cramps, Dead Boys, Great Plains, Fuzzhead, et al. Emeralds is the sound of exploration of space/time conundrums utilizing vintage synthesizer beauty and guitar experimentation. Unfolding sweet-leaf shifts and gorgeous curves of kosmiche abandon are played with devotion and desire. With a palpitating discography of cassettes, CD-Rs, etc., both self-released and on righteous labels (Hanson, Gods Of Tundra, American Tapes, Chondritic Sound) Emeralds have already distinguished themselves as new yet timeless, young yet ageless. Tusco Terror was introduced to us by fellow Ohioan (at that time) Leslie Keffer, (whose Feels Like Frenching LP was released on the label) as her favorite band in Ohio. She sent us some cassette releases and we were immediately blitzed. The sound of reckless confrontation, living room shambles, chaotic slipstreams and glorious friendship noise crackled from one brain stem to another. Tusco Terror resides in Akron, OH when they're not wheeling around the country setting up in any bewildered basement scene or delirious donut shop across the USA to wig out anyone fortunate enuff to be 'there.'
POOR SCHOOL- THE HOLY MASTER LP (ecstatic peace, usa)
14.98usd/7.63gbp/10.11eur/1607jpy (approx)
*Poor School started in April 2005 with Bryan Ramirez (gtr), John Niekrasz (drms) and Nathan Hoyme (sax). We first caught wind of this sick noise/jazz/postpunk rock trio when John Olson, he of American Tapes, Wolf Eyes, Dead Machines, etc. brought Ramirez' other combo Ex-Cocaine (who have a sick LP on Siltbreeze) to the No Fun basement a few years back and Ramirez laid some Poor School CD-R action on us. Needless to say, we were buh-lown away by the manic improv hepness and immediately emailed the dude to see if we could slam some Poor School magic onto black plastik. And unto Ecstatic Peace was delivered The Holy Master. Ramirez and Olson go waay back when the two of them jammed together in the nascent Michigan underground psychedelic troupe Universal Indians. Ramirez took off to Missoula, Montana to investigate micro-brews and mountain air and help put together the awesome Ex-Cocaine. He's still there. Niekrasz went to get high on life in India but is expected back sooner than later. Upon his return, we can hopefully expect Poor School to shed new love and light and chaos for the future. Keep yr eyes peeled.
BOBBY BEAUSOLEIL- MANTRA LP (qbico, italy)
24.98usd/12.73gbp/16.86eur/2680jpy (approx)
*A prison is a noisy place. The clanging of bells announcing the prison routine, the whir and ratcheting, banging and slamming of electric gates and mechanical metal doors, the ebb and flow of human vocalizations as hundreds of people caged against their will respond to their conditions in myriad ways -- to express their loneliness, or discontent, or rage, or insanity, or merely to cheer or boo a play in a football game on television -- punctuated by the shouts of guards who must enforce their authority to maintain what passes for order in such places. All of this and more is amplified within the confines of reverberant concrete walls, conspiring to make it difficult to find, much less preserve, one's peace of mind. I composed Mantra: soundscapes for meditation in response to several requests from some of my fellow prisoners. I was asked to create some gentle music that they could listen to on their personal cassette players as an aid in practicing meditation and relaxation techniques widely accepted as valuable tools in the process of healing mind, body and spirit. The challenge was to produce a musical composition that would help to mask the noise of the environment without being intrusive or demanding too much of the listener's attention, while incorporating combinations of tones and textures that may aid an individual in achieving a relaxed, meditative state of consciousness. By all reports, including my own experience, Mantra succeeds in its intended mission. As environmental music, it also seems to work well as a focusing agent when doing some types of creative work, or when reading, and to enhance the restfulness of sleep when set to play continuously through the night at low volume. You may find other uses for it as well. For all I know, it may help plants to grow more healthy, or soothe a teething baby. We are all doing time in one way or another, and the stresses of day to day life make it imperative that we find ways to generate harmony within ourselves from time to time. I hope that Mantra will serve you in this regard as well as it has served some of my friends in prison. Peace, Bobby BeauSoleil.
GRAVEYARDS- GRAVEYARDS LP (qbico, italy)
24.98usd/12.73gbp/16.86eur/2680jpy (approx)
*Cover by John Olson. Rec. 2007, two side-long tracks. Bunny (cello); Mike Khoury (violin); Zach Wallace (bass); Nate Wooley (trumpet); Hell (percussion, tapes); Coccyx (saxophone, electronics); Johnny Coorz (flute, electronics). 'After few vinyl releases in duo or trio, this is the 1st Graveyards big band effort. A fresh and new look on free music; the more I hear it, the more I like it...'
RAHDUNES- RAHDUNES LP (qbico, italy)
24.98usd/12.73gbp/16.86eur/2680jpy (approx)
*Originally from Sacramento, CA this is a rude boy duo. The record begins with some of the most crude and rough guitar/drums duo mu ever! Then you'll drift toward a far away place... to be finally hypnotized for 25 minutes by a side-long track... derailing!
MICHEL CHION- REQUIEM LP (sub rosa, belgium)
15.98usd/8.14gbp/10.79eur/1714jpy (approx)
*lp-only release. sub rosa presents a reissue of Michel Chion's musique concrète classic, Requiem, originally released on INA-GRM in 1978. Based in France, Chion is a composer of experimental music, and was an assistant to Pierre Schaeffer in 1970 as well as a member of the Groupe de Recherches Musicales (GRM) between 1971-1976. Composed "...while thinking about the troubled minority of the living, rather than the silent majority of the dead," Requiem is an electroacoustic masterpiece built on a system of echoes and correspondences within the context of a "choir" of voices, loops, tape crackles and drama-schemes. As Chion himself describes, "Themes, musical motives, ranging from the most elemental (a loop, raw matter) to the most elaborated (a musical development), and which are reprised, quoted or announced at various moments of the work -- some are easily identifiable as 'leitmotivs' while others are accompanying motives, matter that does not need to be memorized at a conscious level. Within this large form in two parts, we find the small forms of each movement: forms with choruses and episodes, litanies, recitativo, levelled crescendos, etc. There is also another formal course delineated by the succession of several vocal characters, their timbre, intonation, and relation to the libretto." Like the great requiems of the classical era, Requiem's text is taken from the traditional funeral mass, to which are added an Epistle, a Gospel and a Pater Noster. The texts are mostly in their original language (Latin or Greek) and in French. Requiem is sweepingly cinematic, with its flexible treatment of time and space, reflecting perhaps an early indication of Chion's theoretical expertise in film and the interaction between sound and image. "With Requiem my intention was not to deliver a message or a manifesto, whether pro- or anti-religious. Instead, this work is a personal testimony, into which listeners are invited to project their own self, if they care to inhabit it with their own experience and sensibility." --Michel Chion
MI AMI- AFRICAN RHYTHMS 12” (white denim, usa)
11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*Mi Ami's debut 12" vinyl includes three fine tracks of ricochet bass, tidal-wave percussion, burnt guitar and sputtered vocals. Recalling the frantic edge of Rough Trade's legacy where the punks finally figured out how to lasso up a scrawny rhythm, Mi Ami sweat through their t-shirts 'til they're clear. This is a limited pressing of 400 copies on black vinyl.
AUFGEHOBEN- AXIOLOGUE/THERMIDOR ONE FIVE 7” (white denim, usa)
6.98usd/3.56gbp/4.71eur/749jpy (approx)
*restocked… Crafted in their fine tradition, Aufgehoben continue to carve harsh chunks of noise with this, their first departure on 7" vinyl. Guitar and electronics sound like neither, while sprawling percussion tumbles across the rotten landscape. The two tracks on this monochromatic record jump right for the jugular, leaving little time for subtlety or reflection. Not recommended for antique styluses. There are 524 copies of this picture disc record.
METAL
GRAVES AT SEA- DOCUMENTS OF GRIEF LP (kreation, usa)
15.98usd/8.14gbp/10.79eur/1714jpy (approx)
*The Documents of Grief album from doom heavyweights graves at sea. Originally self-released by the band in 2003, a CD reissue is also available via 20 Buck Spin. An essential document of Doom's present, past and future.
NEUROSIS- GIVEN TO THE RISING 2LP (neurot recordings, usa)
19.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*Now in its third decade of innovative noisy psychedelic-metallic thunder, Neurosis is more than a just a powerful band-- it's a religious experience. As such, personal epiphanies are repeatedly told both by those who've been converted by Neurosis' sensory overloading live show and by those who've felt transformed while listening to the legendary quintet's recordings. Given To The Rising is both reflective of the aggressive pummeling for which Neurosis is known, as well as an exploration into psychoactive prog-rock and eviscerating symphonic heft that moves well beyond what we've all come to recognize as the "Neurosis note."
Given To The Rising is like being submerged in an isolation tank-- it envelops, subverting the senses with surreal visions we'd swear were our own, cleverly jarring and disorienting consciousness beyond any footing in reality. Just as any diehard Neurosis fan will tell you, there's a moment with every new record and live show at which the band stops as if the world has frozen in position, then suddenly kicks into a behemoth wail that forces one's head and shoulders to lurch and sway uncontrollably. Given To The Rising is a sound borne of that captivating and transcendent moment.
FOLK AND BLUES
FRED NEIL- FRED NEIL LP (capital, usa)
11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*Originally released 1966 on Capitol. Surely the most balanced album of Fred Neil, this eponymous masterwork is from beginning to end a delightful listen and usually the preferred LP among fans and reviewers. It's the only Fred Neil album in which electric guitars were used. Without knowing very well why, the reverberated electric guitar that opens 'The Dolphins' and the entire LP reminds of the sensation of an infinitely peaceful landscape.
FRED NEIL- EVERYBODY'S TALKIN' LP (capital, usa)
11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*Same tracks as Fred Neil, reissued as Everybody's Talkin' in 1969 on Capitol. why this one was reissued is a mellon scratcher, but then again, you can’t be a completist w/o being complete… right?
FRED NEIL- SESSIONS LP (capital, usa)
11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*Originally released 1967 on Capitol. ...Pushed by spearing notes, Neil leans toward the microphone, mouth open to a line from chin to upper lip; the yawning exit of the well of his voice, which rises with the ease of dust motes from a deep, dark shaft, floating into sunlight and dipping back to the underworld blackness. Lyrics melt across compositional boundaries. He sings about black girls, pine trees, merry-go-rounds, death, life, lies and truth, fleshing the images into reality as his voice curves and cracks words into the microphone. --Pete Johnson
FRED NEIL- OTHER SIDE OF THIS LIFE LP (capital, usa)
11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*Originally released 1971 on Capitol. Tracks 1-6: live at The Purple Elephant (Woodstock, NY). Tracks 7-11: In the studio, unknown exact dates and recording locations, between 1969 and 1970. Gram Parsons, Les McCann, Vince Martin & Stephen Stills make appearances, among others.
DUBSTEP AND GRIME
MACABRE UNIT- GHOST 12” (boka, uk)
11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*Boka steps up the pressure with another release of next level beat carnage, this time round coming from the legendary Macabre Unit. With previous releases on Plastician's Terrorhythm label and their own imprint, the Unit as usual employ 'take no prisoner' tactics to their work with head crunching beats and body blowing bass. First up is 'Ghost,' a track that starts with teasing bass tones and then drops into pure mayhem with growling synths and head-nodding beats -- this is what Herbie Hancock would sound like if he was on crack! On the flip is 'Road 2 Knowher' a track that goes straight for the kill -- rough, raw, powerful and very haunting. The second track on the flip is 'Fantasy,' a tune that rolls on deeper dreamy edge -- a beat that would go very well with some Dali paintings.
EMALKAY- MECHA/THE ROGUE 12” (boka, uk)
11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*This EP features two tracks from Birmingham's biggest producer. First up is 'Mecha' -- a tune which has been battered at the raves all over the world to devastating effect. The track has a cold eerie build up but then drops into a devastating mechanical bassline. This tune is already being seen as one the biggest tracks dub tracks of 2007. On the flip is 'The Rogue' -- a track which makes you shuffle from start to finish with its skipping beats and body punching bassline. Known in the Boka camp as the Wayne Rooney of electronic music, Emalkay's tracks are being supported by the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs, Rob Da Bank, Plastician, Freq Nasty and many more. The morphic man is a name to look out for.
MARLOW/SNO- TREMOR/25 STONE 12” (boka, uk)
11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*BOK012 features two tracks that have been doing the rounds on the dubstep circuit from two of the scene's rising stars. Marlow is a bass scientist who is about to take the UK underground by storm. With tracks forthcoming on labels such as Hotflush and Storming, Marlow is certainly going to be a name to look out for -- 'Tremor' rumbles with rough and raw distorted beats backed up by cinematic strings. The EP also features the ever growing talent of Manchester-based producer SNO whose recent productions have featured on the Earwax and Terrain labels -- '25 Stone,' with its sharp beats and belly-shaking bass will make you lock into some militant head-nodding.
EMALKAY- BATS IN THE BELFRY 12” (boka, uk)
11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*The return of Birmingham's Emalkay. A scientist that gets better and better, Emalkay is a producer with skills to be reckoned with, and with an album on the horizon, the morphic man is going to be big name to look out for in the future.1) 'Bats in the Belfry' takes it to the next level, with its solid half step beats, strings that give you shiverz, and a bass that rumbles like a hungry giant's belly. 2) 'Overflow' causes complete damage, with its powerful beats and battering bass. 3) 'Super Duper' take bass notes up and down the octave and smashes them with an underlying hard-edged beat with cliff edge break downs and build ups.

LOEFAH/COKI- DISCO REKAH/ALL OF A SUDDEN 12” (deep medi music, uk)
11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*restocked… Monster pairing of Loefah and Coki for the 3rd release on what's shaping up to be a great new dubstep label, Deep Medi Musik. Coki's 'All of A Sudden' has been on dubplate for at least a year, heavily awaited on vinyl. It's a fully dark skanking affair similar to his 'Earth A Run Red', released on Soul Jazz. On the other side, Loefah gets a little outside the half-step box, but it's still as heavy as you'd expect. Both of these guys are at the very top of this game, fully essential again and no end in sight. --Rob Buschgans
HIJAK- DALLY/BABYLON TIMEWARP 12” (deep medi music, uk)
11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*restocked… Two dub pensive rollers from Hijak. (featuring additional production by his brother Skream). Two absolute smackers not to sleep on.
DIGITAL MYSTIKZ- ANCIENT MEMORIES 12” (dmz, uk)
12.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*restocked… As yet another testament to the populist spirit of the Mystikz', we have release number eight on their own label. Again forgoing new tunes and giving the people some of what they want, 'Ancient Memories' on the A-side and the Skream remix of the same on the AA are both long-desired dubplates. 'Ancient Memories' is prime trademark Mystikz -- all dark and heavy bass and a rootsy vocal sample, making a tune equally suited for smoked-out with the lights out head-nod action as it is for rocking inna dancefloor. Skream's dub on the flip excellently remolds the tune into sounding completely like one of his own. Now brighter and upbeat, and balanced nicely between dub-throb and grime riddim bounce. --Rob Buschgans
MALA- LEAN FORWARD/LEARN 12” (dmz, uk)
12.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*repressed/restocked… Both sides built by Mala -- 'Lean Forward' rolls casually into brisk tumbling snare patterns and an insistent surging bassline technique. After a moment devoted to Selassie, the vibed up synth-chording and driven repeater drums take over, with a militant steppers bassline propelling a true and full dancefloor joint most effectively. 'Learn' surprisingly incorporates a sample last encountered on Three Sinister Syllables, which asks 'why haven't you learned anything?' over an immense descending low end, which seems to gather barometric pressure, consistent with a trip many leagues below the sea. Murderous bass and as you'd expect -- top notch stuff.
COKI- SPONGEBOB/THE END 12” (dmz, uk)
12.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*repressed/restocked… Coki's 'Spongebob' is the biggest track in dubstep. Smashed by Chief, Mala, Skream, and N Type to name a few.
ALIEN PIMP- ROBOTS & CELLOS/OIL MAN 12” (dubkraft, romania)
12.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*Dubkraft are already one of the top ten bestsellers on digital-tunes.net, and this one is a fine example of the global appeal of dubstep. 'Robots & Cellos' kicks off in fine style with epic strings and moody bass sweeps. On the flip, 'Oil Man' delivers industrial tinged sonic warfare to make the club shake to its foundations.

Flip it over & Qualifide brings us the long awaited 'Badman 4' and El-B returns with a very old skool sounding 'Beautiful Sounds' dubstep, 4/4 & 2 step all on wicked vinyl.

11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*Mixed by Vex'd & mastered by Jason at Transition Studios. The A-side, 'Miserere,' is a deep, spaced-out dubstep journey of epic proportions. 'Miserere' has been routinely played on all major dubstep radio stations, and is currently being promoted on Radio 1 by Mary Anne Hobbs. 'Arigato' on the flip is a beautifully crafted piece from one of Leeds' finest up-and-coming producers, Ed 'Quark.' Drawing from Asian influences, this track rolls out on an intense mystical vibe, complimenting the A-side perfectly with its subtle ambience, militant synths, detailed drum programming and a gut-wrenching bassline.

So what next for LD? It seems now is the time for LD to make the transition from behind the scenes and into the limelight. DJ support from Mala, N-Type & DJ Chef.
DUB CHILD- CUM DANCING 12” (storming, uk)
11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*restocked… The inimitable Dub Child's treatment of London Electricity's 2002 dnb classic 'Cum Dancing' has had DJs and fans craving the track on vinyl for years. Some had lost hope of the track ever blessing plastic at all. But Hospital Records have allowed the remix to hit the shelves for release exclusively through Storming. An anthem from the early days of the scene's legendary club night, FWD, Dub Child's 'Cum Dancing' remix was rinsed by the biggest names at the time. Listening to the track, it's easy to hear why it would be a travesty if it was to become just another lost dub. The infectious melody of the original is built upon with devastating Dub Child breaks and bass. The irrefutably dazzling strings provide the backbone of the track while the infectious melody works itself into your head. The beat skips and skitters along, making it impossible for crowds not to move on the floor. 'Cum Dancing' is an anthem and a classic tune like very few really are. On the flip, 'Wanna Die' is a prime slice of Dub Child's breakneck beats and bass. A track of more than sufficient caliber to couple the plate's A-side.
DUB CHILD- NEW ERA/WARNIN' DEM 12” (storming, uk)
11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*restocked… Following the success of the massive Mount Zion, Storming long-timer Dub Child returns with his 3rd full release and it's business as usual: banging amen breaks and super-squelch basslines, a sonic assault on all senses. 'New Era' opens proceedings with horror film soundscapes, eerie pads and funky metallic breaks, building to a cacophony of screaming synths and a knee-trembling drop. The stuttered halftime breaks and junglistic bass roll out like a military assault vehicle crushing all soun'bwoys in its path. 'Warnin' Dem' -- a longtime crowd pleaser and a welcome return of the Dub Child amen rinse out. The filtered rave synth intro gives way to Rastafarian warnings and the deepest squelch bassline straight from the school of jump up. Punchy amen rhythms and distorted bubbling subs make this the dancefloor choice for the new breed of dub-steppas.
BOGEY MAN VS DUB CHILD- ROUND TWO 12” (storming, uk)

Ragga samples and sick drum edits give this track a Jungle passport to 2006. It's deep, dark and def for the Bass bins, not a tune to be missed.

BAG RAIDERS- BAG RAIDERS REMIXED 12” (bang gang twelve inches, australia)
12.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*"Last time I wrote about the Bag Raiders 'Fun Punch,' I went on some rant about me being in Ibiza, on the floor in the main room at Pacha, listening to Erick 'More' Morillo play filtered French house. I had my hands the air, the lasers were in full effect, the Italian girls were looking fine and my ecstasy was working overtime. I declared that it would have been the best song of the nite, a song so great that you would have bathed in Erick's sweat and wouldn't feel at all weird about it at all. Now after caning this every set all over the world in the last 6 months I take it back. Erick Morillo dropping that would have made the 12,684 ecstasies that were digested in the last hour be vomited up all over the island. People would be vomiting in waves of joy and these would have been rolling around like lost little pingers with no eyes and just insides made from MDMA. And then. The remixes arrive! And here come the pingers! Like little lost kittens with butter on their paws they find their way home. And all the empty stomach raved out beautiful people at Pacha decide to 'double dump' their old lost pingers that they previously vomited up and the party continues! Like a fairy tale for clubber's 'lord of the pings' 'the dark crystal meth' or 'the never ending breakdown' etc. The 12,684 lost no-eyed pingers now eaten (lets call them LLNEP) (long lost now eaten pingers) now get distributed amongst the remixes. The first 1,999 get swallowed by people getting lost on the way to the bathroom listening to ZZZ's super Chopin/Mozart/Bach/Grey/Beethoven/Liszt etc on meth style 3-minute breakdown remix. Word. The next 2,589 were had (shelved) on the dancefloor, lights off 2:33 am grooving to nightlife's dark late nite 2:33 am style Melbourne disco groove shuffle. Then 4,406 were eaten by young Justice fans headbanging to white noizes French style daka daka daka DAAA woop woop!!! Sweating like Carl Cox in their Ed Banger t-shirts and trying to hold their jeans up cause they just sold there limited edition oversized Justice logo belt to buy a water at 20 euros a pop. And the last 3,690 were delicately split in halves to make them easier to swallow by a mixture of French/Canadian/Dutch/German/Russian/Swiss/Italian/New Zealand/English/Scottish/Australian/Californian/Hungarian/Polish/Spanish and some gay dudes dancing on the balcony's to the Bag Raiders even more synthed-out skipped-out drawn out mix of their own super Ibiza Pacha Erick 'More' Morillo hit... ready for it you know how it goes (play the hero part now) FUN punch! and that is THE END."
MUSCLES- ONE INCH BADGE PIN 12” (bang gang twelve inches, australia)
11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*Number three from ex-raving posse the Bang Gang DJ's record label called Bang Gang 12 Inches. His music is cool, its explosive vocals, out of time four part harmonies over the top of soft trance synths and OTT lo-fi house tunes, and every now and then there is a dose of solid techno. The best bit about Muscles is Muscles, he's like this good looking but dorky childlike dweeb that looks like a man. He is naive but magical, a pulsating explosion sent from the future showered in peace and love and mirrors and streamers. He is the underdog that already won the race to the lasers. He is the fist pumping idiot savant. Watching him is like sliding down a water slide surrounded by baby animals. He is outrageous and wearing the oversize party hat.
NICKY VAN SHE/DANGEROUS DAN- AROUND THE WORLD 12” (bang gang twelve inches, australia)
11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*Well it's here, finally here. The first release of our forever talked about, met about and emailed about record label, Bang Gang 12 Inches. The first song has been nearly as long in coming as the actual label, which came first, the chicken or the egg? Who knows? Daft Punk came first with 'Around the World,' tho. Nicky Van She (from the band Van She) and Dangerous Dan (from the Bang Gang!) have come in close second with a synth and guitar-heavy mod version. (Modern) 'Around the World Again' this is a proper death metal rave version of what is possibly the best song ever written.
FINGERS INC./ROBERT OWENS- I'M STRONG 12” (clone classic cuts, netherlands)
11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*restocked… This record has been played to death in the former Roxy Club in Holland by Eddy de Clercq the first times I went there in '88 or '89. And being a young kid of 17 from a small coast town, this had a huge impact that only a few records can have on a person, so it always has been in my system ever since. The Robert Owens vocals are so intense and emotional that it gives you goose bumps all over! Maybe even stronger is the track itself. A one-of-a-kind track with a totally unique groove (check the unusual hi-hat programming) and a bass line not coming from this world. The DX sound that makes the track so powerful sounds like some kind of mutant machine that is going to get you and eat you (or something). And the sublime combination with the Robert Owens vocals makes this a highlight in the history of house music! Actually this track still stands out in its energy and personality between the clean and sterile modern tracks being released every day and it doesn't sound out-dated at all. A strange note from Larry Heard is that he never produced the very strong instrumental version himself! So it's still not certain who made that version... maybe a studio attendant in the off-hours after Owens/Heard left the studio and who sold that version to make some extra cash? It makes me very happy to have this personal favorite on our Classic Cuts series. --Serge
GAY CAT PARK- I'M A VOCODER 12” (clone classic cuts, netherlands)
11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*restocked… Highly sought-after Italo classic, originally released on Il Discotto Productions in 1982. Fantastic song about what being a vocoder is like. One of the funniest & sneakiest but best Italo disco records ever now in the rebound on the Clone Classic Cuts!
RODNEY BAKERR- HOUSE GIRL 12” (clone classic cuts, netherlands)
11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*restocked… The great and obscure house track by Rodney Bakerr (aka Mystic) with a macho classic house bassline. Comes as an original version (very raw and intense), a Mike Dunn Mix (with an amazing 303 bassline!) and a new edit (by Serge & Tyrell) which basically is a stripped version that has all the basic ingredients that make this track rock like crazy!
LOS ANGELES T.F.- MAGICAL BODY 12” (clone classic cuts, netherlands)
11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*restocked… Amazing Italo disco anthem! Very obscure early Italo release previously released on the Italo disco label, Il Discotto. Goes for top prices on Ebay and has been supported by DJs like I-f, Morgan Geist, Serge, Lindstrøm and others. This is just a magical piece of music. Another essential Clone Classic Cut!
REGGIE THE MOVEMAKER/HOUSE TO HOUSE- GET YOUR MONEY MAN 12” (clone classic cuts, netherlands)
11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*restocked… Two absolutely amazing Chicago house classics produced by the masters of the masters... and out of print since 1987 (almost 20 years!!!). House to House (feat. Kim Mazelle) is actually Marshall Jefferson with one of the greatest tracks he ever made! A deep driving vocal house track that couldn't be better. The soulful vocals are performed by a young Kim Mazelle and make you shiver!! On the flip, there is another masterpiece by no one else then Farley Jackmaster Funk (joined by Reggie the Movemaker). He produced a jacking house track for Reggie (but we are not really sure if this Reggie really exists). This track still creates a stir on the dancefloors and has one bad ass bassline! A piece of almost forgotten music history.
DHARMA- PLASTIC DOLL 12” (clone classic cuts, netherlands)
11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*restocked… Great hands in the air italo disco tune. Very obscure Italian act from the mid- 80's with a crazy song about being a plastic doll or something. As far as we know this was the only release Dharma did... probably the plastic she was made of wasn't the strongest quality... unfortunately that is because the release did definitely stand the test of time!
PIG&DAN- IMAGINE 2LP (cocoon, germany)
19.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*restocked… This is the double vinyl version of the full-length debut by Pig&Dan. Right now, their electronic house sound is a perfect image of what is happening on the planet's dancefloors: trippy and driving electronic beats are combined with filigree bass lines and giant spherical spaces, and weird sounds are composed within long, sophisticated arrangements. Modern minimal house with a good share of techno. On Imagine, the duo reduce themselves to the essentials of current techno productions and work more clearly on the elements that a modern dance track should have. This is the sound of the Cocoon floors in Ibiza, Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Rome, transported directly to your iPod, stereo and car. Pig&Dan's impressive debut proves that they are not only fantastic DJs and remixers, but can also create first-class productions.
DOMINIK EULBERG- BIONIK 2LP (cocoon, germany)
19.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*restocked… This is the third full-length release from Bonn-based DJ, producer and park ranger, Dominik Eulberg, following his highly-acclaimed ode to field-recording, Heimische Gefilde. Like no one else, Eulberg combines sound and art research with solid and straight productions, attracting fans from all fields such as techno, house and even trance. The young man from the Westerwald alternates between straight-in-your-face humor and profundity, however, his secret seems to be rooted in tradition while still taking risks. Big tunes like "Bionik" or his remixes of "Geht's Noch?" and "Der Mückenschwarm" are harkened to on this release, as well as clacking electro tracks and sound research experiments. Eulberg's productions emerge from various approaches, never sounding heavy or over-produced, but also not sounding like another overly-simplistic minimal statement. Bionik is immediate and danceable -- real home-grown, friendly stuff. Similar to his DJ sets, he takes us on a journey into his world, his studio, his microcosm, and one understands why he opens up his home to us, and invites us to sit down and stay while.
KIKO- REQUIEM FOR A DREAM/888 12” (confused, germany)
12.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*Our special agent from France is back on Confused! He delivers two tracks with this particular 'Kikonian atmosphere,' dark and rusty with melody thrills driven by a groove a la Huntemann. With 'Requiem For A Dream' Kiko gives us a look inside his special science of sleep. A very special lullaby. On '888' Kiko's mystic journey continues. A dark groove interrupted by griddy breaks and driven by a deep saw. Kiko's Requiem For A Dream EP is supported by Oliver Huntemann, Stephan Bodzin, Spektre, Vedrenn.
ESTROE VS. ZOEXENIA- SWEET DREAMS 12” (connoisseur recordings, germany)
12.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*Estroe and ZoëXenia already teamed up for Connaisseur's compilation Grand Cru 2007 with their wonderful track "Don't Forget." This time the ladies share a split EP with one original track and one remix of both. Estroe is a remarkable and stylistically confident DJ. Famous in the Netherlands, she is slowly being recognized outside her home country. ZoëXenia is a singer and songwriter later infected by house music.
RIPPERTON- ZUGUNRUHE 12” (connoisseur superieur, germany)
12.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*Ripperton presents "Zugunruhe," a lively Detroitish tech-house tune, with a bass line reminiscent of Goofy riding a prairie horse, hypnotic cowbell action and a childhood-memory theme. Not a peak-time tune, more like the kind of track you play at the beginning of the night to bring a smile to every dancer's face. Daniel Stefanik delivers an outstanding interpretation -- an after-party tune with a smacking groove, which slowly builds up to a heart-rending melody.
DADABLEEP- REMIXES 12” (fear of flying, germany)
12.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*Linking the original tracks from German duo DadaBleep on our sister label Fear of Flying Ltd as much as we did, we thought it'd be just supa' to get some deeper re-rubs on our main label. SO BEHOLD! Connasieur superstars Plasmik take Ghipwe on an epic journey complete with warm pads and an old skool sounding high string line. We like MUCHLY! Next up we enlisted the help of one the hardest working producers around at the moment, Andomatt 3000. He injects a great big dose of fun into his take on 'Ghipwe' -- bouncy, groovey and almost techno like -- what parts of the original does he use? We didn't ask but who really cares when the beats are this good eh? We called upon the emerging talents of our very own Tim Gregor next for a rmx of 'Enter the Echo,' taking a more traditional tech-house route with a subtle vibe that just grooves along on it's deep deep bass. We're confident you lot are gonna' be hearing Tim crop up quite a lot next year, following in the footsteps of his better known brother, Mark Henning.
SCSI-9- KROY MENYA V POL BITA 12” (fear of flying, germany)
11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*restocked… 'Kroy Menya' had been in our record boxes since it first appeared on SCSI-9's excellent and highly-acclaimed Digital Russian LP back in 2003. Liking it as much as we did we though it'd be rather nice to give it a leg up into the year 2007 with a nice lil' remix package. So firstly we employed the services of Moon Harbour starlets and all round good uns' Luna City Express to give it a rub-down in the form of their 'Lovely Luna People' remix. Starting with hints of the original melody and vocal line, it then drops into a deep rolling b-line, giving it a nice chuggy feel before slowly raking up the tension with an intense, twisting synth line. Flip for the original mix. Typically SCSI-9 in feel, it just grooves along in a melancholy way with subtle melodies and the vocal line which gives the track its title. Finally, we asked the provider of our last release, Pawas, if he could do the remix honors. Staying much truer to the feel of the original track, he sets about giving it a subtler feel with a funked-up clave to provide the all-important groove before dropping into a synth-laden break.
DYED SOUNDOROM- QUESTION/INFECTION 12” (freak n’ chic, germany)
12.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*This is the premier release from long-time Freak 'n' Chic DJ collaborator, Dyed Soundorom. "Question" lays down a dubby slow-moving groove -- let the pace take you up and bring you down to the deep-grooved finish. "Infection" instantly creates a deep and dubby late-night vibe that holds back the pace and keeps the funk grooving.
ELEKTROCHEMIE- GET YOURSELF 12” (get physical, germany)
12.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*Elektrochemie is producer Thomas Schumacher and the bewitching vocal presence of Caitlin Devlin. Get Yourself is Elektrochemie's third offering for Get Physical. "Faking" begins in an opiated fashion, flirting with spaced-out tom sounds before a fierce kick-drum gets the show on the road. "No 19" has a clicky 4x4 pattern and is sexy and non-committal. "Get Yourself" features snapclaps, a liquid bass line and synth builds. "My Home" has tectonic bass frequencies and keyboards dubbed to breaking point. Hypnotizing.
V/A- GREAT CARNIVAL STUFF EP VOL. 1 12” (get physical, germany)
12.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*It's Carnival time all over the world and Great Stuff comes up with its first compilation full of exclusive Carnival goodies from their artists and friends. Infected by the groove and spirit of Rio, Venice, Trinidad Tobago, Cologne/Mainz, Mardi Gras. 11 artists from all over the world (Wehbba from Brazil, Fergie from Ireland, Florian Meindl from London, Koletzki and Namito from Berlin) produced exclusive tracks for that compilation. And obviously they had to capture the carnival vibe and transform it into an outstanding track. These are the first 4 tracks on vinyl where Oliver Koletzki is in full samba feeling, while Butch was inspired by his hometown carnival in Mainz/Germany. Namito and Stephan Hinz used the percussive aspect of carnival for their track which definitely resulted in a great groove.
LUKE HESS- BELIEVE & RECEIVE 12” (kontra-musik, sweden)
12.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*Kontra-Musik 007 gives you beautiful and deep techno from Omar-S protégé Luke Hess with an even deeper remake from Kontra-Musik long time favorite, Shed. He represents the new generation of Detroit producers. Subject to the city's mid-90s warehouse parties, Luke Hess has harnessed a deep appreciation for electronic music and the expression of the underground movement. This in combination with his background in mathematics and engineering has given him a scientific approach to the dance floor, using frequencies, tones, and soundscapes to transform surroundings and mood. Luke's faith based music production has landed him a seat with Beretta Music in Detroit, Modelisme in France and last but not least, with Omar-S´ FXME label. The remix is the work of Shed, the man behind the labels Soloaction and Subsolo. His productions sound like synchronized movements of old farming machines, creating beautiful music. EPs like Stronghold, Shot Selection and The Fall contains timeless dance floor music with that extra home listening quality. It is a great honor to finally have his work on the Kontra-Musik label.
VERA & FEDERICO MOLINARI- IT AIN'T MUSIC 12” (kontra-musik, sweden)
12.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*The new sub-label from Oslo Records is ran by the two heads: Federico Molinari and Nekes. Together they are trying to express their feelings towards a certain kind of music by sending musical love letters in 12" vinyl form. The first proof of love is sent from Vera & Federico Molinari and includes two house tracks that hold a classic touch and are reinterpreted in a modern way. 'It Ain't Music' is a house tool with clear sound structures. It's deep, intensive and filled with soul. By being fairly linear and loopy, it creates unique ambiance and energy. 'Tusch For Mike' is a melancholic deep house track, with a touch of Detroit. The warm chord sounds, heavy beats and small fragments of Vera's voice spread a very personal vibe. Both tracks are never pretentious, but almost reserved, which keeps them interesting in nature. Staying special all the way, it's only available on vinyl. A true love proof!
DANIEL MEHLHART- MANGE TAK 12” (neutonmusic, germany)
12.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*These cheerful 22 minutes combine emotive techno/house with synthesizer washes and constant, rolling rhythmic underlay ('Mange Tak'), straight and right down to the last detail (with sparkling piano-chords) but nevertheless oblique produced, 'Kontrastprogramm' reminds us of early works by Charles Webster, Brendon Moeller and, aem, Hot Chip; and Trauerspiel on B2 features a 'once upon a time'-like theme (violin played by Daniel's daddy!) accentuated by a pulsating, hypnotic, rhythmic and gradually building melody and compelling breakdown.
MARA TRAX- ...IT GOT ME FUNK 12” (oslo, germany)
12.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*Oslo continues to innovate and deliver the next generation of dance music. This time they are presenting Mara Trax, alter ego of Vera Heindel & Maayan Nidam aka Miss Fitz. You may recognize Vera as Robert Johnson's princess, or outside of Frankfurt as the DJ that converted a lot of dancing shoes into dust. Maayan on the other hand, is known for her outstanding releases on raum..musik, Circus Company etc. as well as 'the small DJ that plays big sets.' The two share a passion for raw, old school house grooves which makes their futuristic production style so unique & deep. The EP starts off with 'Funk Me,' an irresistible groove bomb that takes you high using colorful yet tasteful layers of house chords & acid bass. Moving on to 'Me Funk,' you'll find the beautiful dubby version of the same composition, perfect for a morning-haze DJ set as it keeps a slow moving and hypnotic groove. On the flip side, the beautiful tenderness of what you heard is losing its innocence and spices up to an intelligent house track: 'Let Goose.' It's a new breed of dance music that keeps the groove on while exploring new territories in music & challenging them. Finally, 'The Rhythm.' A track with a promising name that follows through, staying true to the Oslo sound of sophisticated club bombs with a wink.
FEDERICO MOLINARI- ENERVERENDE 12” (oslo, germany)
11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)
*restocked… With their fourth release, the still-young and successful label enters the race. This time co-label-owner Federico Molinari, who already delivered a remix ('Kreiskollaps') on the first Oslo EP, showcases his skills. 'Enerverende' is a dubby house tool, which slowly develops its effect and finally as a Damian Schwartz remix takes the hightime direction. The last one is 'Takk Brett,' which is being carried by cleverly composed vocal bits and percussive elements. It breaks the ground, which Oslo has following since the beginning; modern house music.
MELCHIOR PRODUCTIONS- NO DISCO FUTURE 2LP (perlon, germany)
24.98usd/12.73gbp/16.86eur/2680jpy (approx)
*finally in stock… Three years after his groundbreaking album The Meaning (Playhouse, 2004) Thomas Melchior presents his new longplayer No Disco Future. Skills and experiences Thomas gained throughout the years are innumerous. To mention just a few: along with Tim Hutton he formed the Duos Vulva and Yoni who were releasing on Aphex Twin's label Rephlex, on the U.S. label Reflective, and for German electronica pioneers, Source Records. With his mate Peter Ford, he forms the duos Sunpeople and Soul Capsule (and various others). The new album sounds less micro-house and more homogeneous. Slightly spherical soundscapes perfectly unite with discreet vocals building very harmonical structures.
PATRICK ZIGON- MENTAL DRAINING: THE REMIXES 12” (puzzle traxx, germany)
12.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*Patrick Zigon's 'Mental Draining' was hot with an avalanche of diverse top level DJs including M.A.N.D.Y., Adam Beyer, Shlomi Aber, Sebo K, Damian Lazarus, Jamie Jones, Laurent Garnier & Karotte to name just a few. That hypnotic, ear-catching synth line and the moody chords simply screamed to get remixed! It goes without saying that such a huge supported record also deserves a huge remix package, and so four (4!) further Mental Draining lovers immediately agreed to deliver their very own and outstanding interpretations: Poker Flat Recordings finest Martin Landsky, who is just about to release his new single 'Man High' going on an old school trip, man-of-the-moment Agnès (Sthlmaudio, Resopal) delivering a superb, dreamy Deep House monster, rising star Alessandro Crimi embedding Dub Techno elements into a driving Tech House weapon, and last but not least Puzzle Traxx artist Random Play tweaking things more freaky. Plus, as usual, an additional web-exclusive track only available on puzzle-traxx.com against password, which is scratched into runout groove of vinyl!
STEVE O'SULLIVAN- MOSAIC CLASSICS DISC 2 12” (sushitech, france)
12.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*The second part of the project presents us with the more dubby sound of the label. Two longer tracks are at work here, 'Cheque Not Accepted' and 'Touch Up.' Both monotone sounding, hypnotic and with that pure dub feel. Tracks that are still sounding organic and fresh years later! It's hard to believe these were created with just a sequencer and some basic hardware! Timeless music!
GREGORYTHME- PETER PAN SYNDROM 12” (sushitech purple, france)
12.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*With some great releases on labels such as Cadenza, Minibar and Bruchstuecke, along with the successful remixes on Sushitech for Mikael Stavostrand and E. Bridge, Gregorythme of Digitaline is releasing his first solo EP on the label and puts down a big mark along with it.
PRINCIPLES OF GEOMETRY- A MOUNTAIN FOR PRESIDENT 12” (tigersushi, france)
12.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*restocked… Here comes the first extract from Principles Of Geometry's album Lazare. "A Mountain For President" is a space hymn with Martians on Juno synths, Jupiterians at the mixing desk and cosmic prophet Sebastien Tellier on vocals. Next comes a remix by Speakerine, with a true love for the dark side. Finally, Joakim remixes the title track adding some fat and a huge break in the middle of an already sweet meal.
STEVE LAWLER- SLEEPWALKING REMIXES PART 1 12” (tsuba, germany)
12.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*Steve Lawler is a definitive DJ and producer, renowned as one of the world's premier and most respected talents. From his legendary residencies We Love and VIVA at Space in Ibiza to Viva Harlem Nights at The End in London, and his Lights Out and VIVA tours of North America, Lawler is one of the most powerful touring names in electronic music. He hasn't had over 500,000 plays for his music on Myspace for nothing! Steve Lawler was once hailed the pioneer of twisted house, but his sound has evolved through the years although the main elements still remain, meandering through deep, dark, sexy house tracks. 'Sleepwalking' marks his debut single for Tsuba, following the hugely successful 'Courses For Horses' on Renaissance. Part 1 -- The first 12" serves up the killer remixes for the Tsuba faithful. Will Saul & Tam Cooper's mix is deep, sexy & driving house music and one of their best mixes to date. Following his own 'Jaguar Shoes' single label boss Kevin Griffiths steps up with a deeper, tripped out mix with a killer groove for the afterhours.

thanks for looking.
so i had to move into a new apartment this week (close to the shop, frankford and montgomery to be exact… i like it quite a bit, thanks for asking), making my time allotted for ordering limited, so this weeks update isn’t as all encompassing as i might like… ie, it’s a little light on rock and pop and heavy on dubstep and dance, and thus, what i’m really heavy on this week are some choice jams! check it out: dmz and deep medi music reissues (!!!), boka, storming and ringo restocks, new releases on qbico (rahdunes picture disc!!!), ecstatic peace, bang gang, great stuff, get physical, puzzle traxx, etc. come on by…
gracias

11.98usd/6.10gbp/8.09eur/1285jpy (approx)

On the flip, this double A-sided plate twists the mood completely. Expect some low-down subs. Dark atmospherics & mind-bending lfo sweeps.
V/A- ANGER MANAGEMENT VOLUME TWO 12” (qualified, uk)
12.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
*First up on this quality 2nd volume of Anger Management EPs is Qualifide's 'Look Shook,' which is featured on DJ EZ's new Pure Garage CD, then there's the Sister Nancy sampling dubstep anthem 'One Ting' from Compound One. Flip it over & Qualifide brings us the long awaited 'Badman 4' and El-B returns with a very old skool sounding 'Beautiful Sounds' dubstep, 4/4 & 2 step all on wicked vinyl.
QUARK, RUCKSPIN & PLANAS- MISERERE/ARIGATO 12” (ranking, uk)

12.98usd/6.61gbp/8.76eur/1393jpy (approx)
