Fronted by the legendary and truly eccentric visionary Roky Erickson, the group has enjoyed sizeable cult status ever since their ground-breaking single, 'You're Gonna Miss Me' made the U.S. charts in 1966. Their first two albums are widely recognized as being landmarks of their era. The group's second album for International Artists, 1967's Easter Everywhere is essentially an extension of the sound of their debut album. V/A- FESTIVAL DER GENIALEN DISSIDENTEN LP/7” (enfant terrible, netherlands)
34.98usd/24.34gbp/27.36eur/3423jpy (approx)

*The compilation Festival der Genialen Dissidenten can be considered as a sort of sequel to the highly acclaimed and long time sold out collectors piece and cult LP Electronic Renaissance (Enfant04). Especially realized for the Enfant Terrible label night (12 april 2008 in Bruxelles) is the 7" release by Wermut. PINK REASON/HUE BLANCS JOYLESS ONES- SPLIT LP (floridas dying, usa)
15.98usd/11.12gbp/12.50eur/1563jpy (approx)

*What a perfect split! Two bands compliment each other so well doing each others songs. Not so much covers as a different perspective on the exact same emotions. The line quickly blurs between these bands as two separate entities, as they grab onto the others words and make them their own. The fact that the warmest moments on this record come in repeated refrains of "Down On Me", should give you some perspective.

EDDY CURRENT SUPPRESSION RING- PRIMARY COLOURS LP (goner, usa)
13.98usd/9.73gbp/10.93eur/1368jpy (approx)

*the second album from melbourne, australia’s eddy current suppression ring. primary colours was released to rave reviews and sold out shows down under, with the first week sales putting the record at number six on the australian national charts. eddy says, “musically, to me it sounds a bit more ‘82ish than the ‘76ish sound of our first lp, slightly less frantic and maybe a bit more palatable.

COLD CAVE- PAINTED NAILS 7” (hospital productions, usa)
9.98usd/6.94gbp/7.81eur/976jpy (approx)

*the first pressing of 500 sold out in 3 weeks via mailorder. this is the second pressing on clear vinyl. i have seen the future, and its no place for me. this is a special record for hospital. although we have always shared a certain love for trance, power noise, synth pop, and 80s industrial music it is the first time we directly venture into this controversial and rhythmic world. cold cave presents 3 tracks of authentically morose epic anthems with the texture of a shattered champagne glass. imagine a highly damaged downward spiral era demo hitting the raw nerve to heart where all breaths freeze in rapture and all feelings croak in the blood of the beat-less heart. clear vinyl repress.

ANIMALS + MEN- NEVER BOUGHT NEVER SOLD: SINGLES & DEMOS 1979-83 LP (mississippi, usa)
12.98usd/9.03gbp/10.15eur/1270jpy (approx)

* shop favorite restocked… Animals + Men -- named after a song by Adam and the Ants -- started life around the winter of 1978-1979 when Susan Wells took over vocal duties in what was a three piece called Psychotic Reaction. Based in Frome Somerset, their first release Don't Misbehave in the New Age (1980) was an indie hit. When the band split in '81, Susan and Ralph formed the Terraplanes. A & M/Terraplanes released three vinyl 45s. A few years ago, demos by the band surfaced on the Messthetics/Hyped 2 Death label. Recently, the band have reformed and performed the odd gig and are releasing an EP of new songs soon on Convulsive Records. Mississippi Records is proud to be the first to release an entire LP containing the three 45s and early demos, all recorded between 1979-1983. For fans of early UK DIY.

Very catchy pop with the energy and rawness of the best punk rock combined with a strong psychedelic feel. An amazing collection by one of the best bands of all time!

RUSSIAN TSARLAG- COMMUNITY DEATH TUBE LP (night people, usa)
16.98usd/11.82gbp/13.28eur/1661jpy (approx)

*Night-People is excited to present the first full length LP by Russian Tsaralg, long running solo performance and recording outlet of Tampa born Providence based creep crooner Carlos Gonzalez. Russian Tsaralag infuses sci-fi and horror movie aesthetics with strange loner punk minimalism. Tsarlags sparse, savage, downer, aesthetics, and strange audio skits, are the perfect soundtrack to the declining age.

ANTENNAS ERUPT!- MAGICAL ENERGY LP (s-s, usa)
15.98usd/11.12gbp/12.50eur/1563jpy (approx)

*A brilliant band who were too damn good to stay together. But though they had a short time on this earth they turned out one gem right here. When they played they had every record geek in town standing drop jawed at the fact that something this good and this not-normal would be happening. they broke up once but got back together when their fans BEGGED them to! Structured free jazz in the mode of Threadgill, Lake, & Ayler mixed with the out rock of Captain Beefhearts Magic Band. Recently given a favorable review in The Wire. Fans of the Geeks or Tragic Mulato will enjoy. White vinyl in a great Troy Mighty drawn tri-fold sleeve. No cd issue, vinyl only. A sample from Rinpoche. A bit of Healthy Vaginal Walls.

KARATE PARTY- BLACK HELICOPTER LP (s-s, usa)
15.98usd/11.12gbp/12.50eur/1563jpy (approx)

*Maniacal p. rock by mid 90s Sacramento trio led by Chris Woodhouse. Influenced by Devo, Boredoms, & lifes unpleasantries. Was to influence the A Frames, Intelligence, & others. 1/2 original released on Moo-La-La but remastered and sounding much better, 1/2 unreleased or hopelessly obscure. Those are the dull facts. The exciting ones are that this fucking pup is insane, wild ass, monster killing pug rock. Endless riffs that will smash your nose against glass. No cd issue, vinyl only. Gold vinyl. A sample of Donut Room. A sample of Spawn (demo).

SYSTEMATICS- WHAT WE DID IN THE AFTERNOONS 2LP (tu-134, germany)

The second LP contains previously unreleased material - Demo versions as well as tracks that have never been released before in any format. The Systematics "What We Did In The Afternoons" TU-134-01, Germany 2008 The Systematics were a band from Australia. They existed for four years, from 1978 to 1982. They released 3 records: The "Pulp Baby" 7" on the australian label Doublethink, a 12" EP called "Rural" and a 7" EP called "Fat Cows Go Down An Eastern Beach" on the australian label M Squared. The music of The Systematics is pretty unique. If you search for it, you will find it somewhere in the grey area between No Wave, Post Punk, Minimal Electronics and Pseudo Pop Music. "What We Did In The Afternoons" is a Double LP. The first LP contains everything The Systematics have ever released on vinyl - all the above mentioned releases, as well a two contributions they made to the M Squared compilation LPs "Growing Pains" and "A Selection". So you might say the first LP it is some kind of "Best Of" album. The second LP contains only unreleased material that was carefully selected by the singer of The Systematics, Patrick Gibson, and TU-134: Demo versions of "Pulp Baby" and "International Voltage", some contributions to cassette only releases ("Sunny", "Marine Boy") as well as tracks that have never been released before in any format: "Golden Age", "ASIO", "Hippie Happening" or "John Robinson", just to name a few. So you might say the second LP is some kind of new old album by The Systematics. GREY AREA

WAR SLUT- WALL AS MISTRESS 2LP (airport war, usa)
24.98usd/17.38gbp/19.54eur/2444jpy (approx)

*Posthumous album by War Slut, Now known as Airport War, on tour with Religious Knives this summer. Studio and Live recordings taken from an ill-fated 2005 European tour that the saw band caught in the middle of a knife fight in Prague and getting thrown out of their own headline by police at the famed Kinsky Club in Berlin. Cut short, the band returned stateside, rented an abandoned warehouse and recorded a few songs before throwing their instruments into a pile and lighting it on fire. War Slut was dead--Wall As Mistress is their epitaph. The record comes in three versions: porn star, pop star, and prince. Images are silkscreened directly onto the record, which is still playable, providing a visual remix to each side. Two records per set, one with Side A defaced and one with Side B defaced.

V/A- NO STATE NO SOUND LP (american tapes, usa)
18.98usd/13.21gbp/14.84eur/1857jpy (approx)

*Hold on gnaw...last but not least..... the NO STATE NO SOUND comp lp. Dont know what led up to it...think I vaguely remember getting "dared" by Nurse Khrust to put out a record of silence by the crew, not sure, but maybe told Haunted Square D about it....but anyhow.....flashblack to an average but killer brewsday in the late summer, got the crew shooting the gip, no biggy, and Square D rolls up with his "Body Morph" one minute silent track....takes a sec to remember but all right...lets do this. Greh and V invite the now deep crew black to they hut, and on the way I had a walkman in the whip, so i popped in Ds master, hit record and the stop watch for a minute and me and the Connartist sat in silence for a minute and recorded the second track BIRTH REFUSAL. As we got to Grehs, we assembled all the jammers present and hit em up for a minute, all on three different Walkmans all on the original master tape. Was totally strange, Sick Llama was just standing in a yard with the crew looking at him pointing a recorder his way while nothing happened. It was like a very strange gig. So after everyone at the party got recorded/ trapped in NO SOUND, some the garage, some inside a bathroom whilst the crew stared at the close door, someone had the idea to call up some jammers. So No Fucker Johnny, Romero, others all held on the line for a minute of NOTHING. Totally rules. The end result sounds like a Folkways experiment. I ended up coming home and getting busted for "recording silence and not grabbing the Air Condition Window Unit" which was the only reason i went Grehs begin with. Hey, Window AC Unit or not, you are still KOOL with this platter!! Heres the Full Iiterary, recorded in order, no overdubs or tom foolery, no voices nothing, just weird hiss and an occasional bird chirp in lonesome... 1) Body Moprh 2) Birth Refusal 3) Hive Mind 4) Sick Llama 5) New Pledgemaster 6) Tom & John 7) ??????? (we eventually figured out who it is, heres a hint: weighs 90 lbs, goes from 0-Passed out in 3 brews, now in P. Rico) 8) Moontravellers 9) A.C. & Khrust 10) Alicia Warning 11) No Fucker 12) Burning Star Core 13) Hair Police 14) Rodger Stella 15) Damion Romero 16) Hellfire Holly 17) Iron Lung 18) 16 Bitch Pile Up 19) The Haunting All pressed on colored gray vinyl on the new AT style wrapped around sleeve with creepy art, Numbered edition of 200.

AVARUS- KIRPPUJEN SAARI LP (arbor, usa)
17.98usd/12.51gbp/14.06eur/1759jpy (approx)

*Long touted as the forefathers of Finnish freeform psychedlic music, Avarus, a collective bearing members from The Anaksimadros, Kemialliset Ystävät, Maniacs Dream, and more, document their first tour of the United States on "Kirppujen Saari". The sounds contained show a departure and growth from typical Avarus recordings. The A side long track begins with a psychrock romper complete with full "band" instrumentation, slowly it deconstructs itself into the abstract electric/acoustic stylings and sonic spattering familiar to their previous work. Slowness builds into full on clatter filled walls of vocals, toy keyboards, horns, strums, and other acoustic junk, creating a unique and massive drone. The opposing side is pure acoustic drones composed of vocals, horns, and tribal beats. Room filling ambiance, corner clatter, and morphing silence also find a way to unobtrusively build themselves into the piece. DEAD MACHINES- PLAYS INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS LP (arbor, usa)
13.98usd/9.73gbp/10.93eur/1368jpy (approx)

*Michigan heavy domestic-electronic couple Dead Machines always create records that confuse and intrigue. They are the forefathers of broken gear / appliance / wind instrument basement jamming and have their niche dug deep. "Invasion" exists on the borders of existence- room ambiance is present, but the sounds are totally alien. Twisting mixer feedback and found sound source into a twisted collage of life outside the "Pod": harsh and awakening, but at times giving way to the trance of the machine lull. Dont fall asleep. In an edition of 450 LPs with full color pro-printed cardboard sleeves with art by John Olson.

INFINITY WINDOW- ARTIFICIAL MIDNIGHT LP (arbor, usa)
13.98usd/9.73gbp/10.93eur/1368jpy (approx)

*New York snyth duo Infinity Window have been crafting their game for well over a year without much documentation. Comprised of Dan Lopatin (Oneohtrix Point Never) and Taylor Richardson (Prehistoric Blackout), this LP shows them at the pinnacle of self-realization. Equally influenced by John Carpenter and the Taj Mahal Travelers, they create traveling music; music that has the power to transport and overwhelm the listener with vibes outside of those presently available to them. The A Side consists of two tracks, both clouded in a heavy haze of fog, dark and heavy though their clarity exists underneath the shroud. The B Sides lone track "Skull Theft" is the full circle realization of the first two tracks: a light is illuminated and the fog begins to clear. Mastered by Keith Fullerton Whitman. In an edition of 500 LPs with full color pro-printed cardboard sleeves and printed labels with art by Robert Beatty (Hair Police/Burning Star Core).

MANIACS DREAM- ZANZIBAR LP (arbor, usa)
16.98usd/11.82gbp/13.28eur/1661jpy (approx)

*Finland is the epicenter of collective music-making. Under the name Maniacs Dream, members of a variety of Finnish bands such as Avarus, Fricara Pacchu, Kemialliset Ystävät, and more come together to create blown-out free rock (not your typical stoner guitar jams). Their unique/bizarre approach to music-making constantly questioning the construction/deconstruction of sound creates songs at times recalling the electro-acoustic clatter drone of Avarus crossed with tribal rhythms and intergalactic guitar zones. Total sonic freedom with a punk ethos directly influenced by a trip to Zanzibar prior to recording this record (which is a reissue of the long sold-out tape originally released on Lal Lal Lal in 2006). In an edition of 450 records on light blue vinyl with printed labels and full color pro-printed fold-over sleeves with art by Benjamin Bergman and an insert.

RUNZELSTIRN & GURGELSTOCK/MLEHST- SEX SEX SEX/THE APPEAL OF TEMPERANCE LP (belief recordings, uk)

*Impressively spare & taut noise improv from both folks, & first recordings in quite a while from Mlehst. R&G side is some sort of absurd theater outing, with a real eye-gouge of a cover, even for them. limited edition of 250.

FRAK- LOVE BEYOND SYNTH SAGA LP (borft, sweden)
23.98usd/16.69gbp/18.75eur/2346jpy (approx)

*Material previously unreleased from the era Frak sounded dreamy sometimes psychedelic and very electro blip blop. Everything is recorded 1991 at Studio Styrka (wich is still active). Now when almost all the old tapereleases by FRAK is gone this is a good chance to hear their past...Lim Ed 300.

V/A- XXPERIMENTS LP (die stasi, usa)
17.98usd/12.51gbp/14.06eur/1759jpy (approx)

*varied in instrumentation and sound (from total primitiveness to entirely grandiose) but overall has a very cold/creep vibe. All the songs are currently unreleased except for the Buckets of Bile track which was on her short-run, self-produced cassette. The artwork for XXperiments is a one-color spraypaint stencil and a couple little stickers. One-time only pressing on this one." Includes Cro Magnon (members of Circuit des Yeux), Luxury Prevention, Circuit des Yeux , Buckets of Bile, Bird, U.S. Girls, and Zola Jesus.

RUSTED SHUT- Hot Sex LP (dull knife, usa)
18.98usd/13.21gbp/14.84eur/1857jpy (approx)

*Third record in 22 years from the notorious Houston scum/dirge/noise rock band. Originally recorded in 1998 by the same lineup that created the infamous "REHAB" album just months later, "HOT SEX" sat on the shelf for 10 years in true Rusted Shut fashion. Ugly music for ugly people in these ugly times. Good and bad lie in everyone, and we often try our hardest when hiding or compensating for what is ugly and evil in each of us. Rusted Shut is the soundtrack for the sad moment when there is no hiding what is ugly in you. You give in to it, listen and stare. For fans of early GODFLESH, FLIPPER, and BRAINBOMBS. Entertain no one. 500 copies.

INSAYNGEL- INSAYNGEL LP (heavy tapes, usa)
18.98usd/13.21gbp/14.84eur/1857jpy (approx)

*vinyl edition of 500, full color printed covers We saw Insayngel play some time in 2008 or maybe the end of 2007 at Glasslands. Immediately we said to each other "This band needs to have a record out. Lets do it." We talked to the band after the gig and they were down -- it was recorded, mastered by our friend Todd Cavallo, and sent off to the plant. Insayngel is Calder, Caitlin, Richard, and John. Calder and Caitlin are Vizusa and used to jam Excepter, and Richard and John are the brutal rhythm unit of Sightings. An intriguing combination of players to say the least, this LP brings a 30th Century sound to the history of New York City. The locked, wrecked rhythms, desparate, gorgeous wails, and shredded, anxious guitars are symphonic, undulating, impossible. A serious now vision that impressed us deeply enough to be the first LP weve ever done. Art by Calder, pressed in Brooklyn, New York.

THE HOSPITALS- HAIRDRYER PEACE LP (hospitals, usa)
17.98usd/12.51gbp/14.06eur/1759jpy (approx)

*After a nearly Chinese Democracy situation, the new Hospitals LP "Hairdryer Peace" is being pressed and.. put out by the band. Its a ripper/apology for the bands previous two albums."-Hospitals. "Doesnt really matter whether you loved or hated The Hospitals before, cuz this is some year zero shit. This is the most psychedelic fucking record in a long time and there are no rainbows - no feather earrings - no beards. Mixed for maximum hallucinations, it has the stoned riffs of a killer rock record, totally cracked pop, pure headfuck, but more than anything else just an all around perfect album. Its Chief Hospital Adam Stonehouse with oringal Hospital co-founder/shredder Rod Meyer and Rob Enbom from Eat Skull and Chris Gunn from an island off the coast of the future. Sounds nothing like any bands or anything else.. Seriously, if a better record comes out this year, next year, whenever.... I promise. Edition of 500. Dont be an asshole." - Scott Simmons. "and when I announced as a masterpiece and a real departure into a ZONE, theyre getting VERY curious.

HAIR POLICE- PRESCRIBED BURNING LP (hospital productions, usa)
19.98usd/13.90gbp/15.63eur/1955jpy (approx)

*arising from the smoldering ashes of early morning fallout settles six reverberated blackened altars settled in the embers of industrial noise. slow motion feedback dissolve and dance macabre with raped guitar entanglement and roving percussive loops. scathing hard noise eruptions like drool through the hounds teeth that hold tight and lets loose the bizarre ordeal that is hair police. prescribed burning worships wet atmosphere and tape cut obsessive noise with raw chaos! always away from the pack yet defines the cult. limited to 600 copies with the traditional silk screened 2 sided fold out cover.

WOLF EYES/SICKNESS- THERE IS A PART OF ME THAT YOU WILL NEVER KNOW LP (hospital productions, usa)
19.98usd/13.90gbp/15.63eur/1955jpy (approx)

*restocked… Hospital Productions is proud to release the first-ever collaboration between these two legends, Wolf Eyes and Sickness. This is not haphazard but a symbiotic collaboration bridging distant roads. This full length LP is a dark casket of scorched earth sounds, the remains of the cracks at the after shock of discovery. Reminding us of the peaks in either artists catalog, There Is A Part Of Me That You Will Never Know processes the deepest sounds of these four masters in a haze of lone atmosphere and true noise. This is not a terror shock, this is the end.

AVARUS- AVARUS II LP (hp cycle, canada)
19.98usd/13.90gbp/15.63eur/1955jpy (approx)

*restocked… Here is your introduction to phase two. While there is a certain degree of continuity in the approach, II is a noticeable extrapolation of the Avarus SOUND. The albums six tracks span collage-esque pieces of audio junk to deconstructed song forms to subtly dense instrumentals. Waves of stretched electronics, distorted clank and warbling bass throb create layers of chaotic wreckage until a sudden collapse reveals an underlying stasis. Unnoticed patterns now conscious pull the listener into another time/mind continuum. Step into the g-a-p. The LP is presented in a full cover printed sleeve with suitable "found" photo art...for you to figure out what its all about.

EASTENBURIA- EASTENBURIA LP (japan overseas, japan)
24.98usd/17.38gbp/19.54eur/2444jpy (approx)

*Summer of 1999 Dave Nuss of NNCK and Rita Ackermann traveled to Japan for the book release of Revelations, a chronicle of the Father Yod dynasty penned by Byron Coley and illustrated by Ackermann. While there they scored a record deal for Angelblood with Capt. Trip, and traveled to Osaka to record an album for Japan Overseas with the Yoshimi and Atari of the Boredoms, joined by in-house musician Yoshida. Recording and recording, only breaking to visit the local Shinto shrine, the ensemble found their sound in a blend of NNCK primitive shaman percussion with the Boredoms penchant for electronically-inspired repetition, Ritas Eastern European vocal eccentricities, and the ocassional strum of the sitar. Yoshimi handled all mixing and re-mixing. A beautiful full-color picture disc with art by Yoshimi and Rita. Is it middle-eastern? Indeed, it is Eastenburia. --S@1. Sounds like one long drug overdose. -Scaruffi

PLANTS- DUNN/OLSON/RAMIREZ - 12/15/93 LP (killertree, usa)
19.98usd/13.90gbp/15.63eur/1955jpy (approx)

*restocked… 1993 - we got our cherries busted with youth noise and desperate freedom. It was a call for musical separation from everything that plugged in and we fuckin got it. We (Jeff Dunn, John Olson & Bryan Ramirez) met many evenings per week for over a year solid, most likely cranked around 200 sessions all recorded on 90 minute tapes - roughly 9000 minutes - all ground into dust, gone. Shit was molded in the walls of 1610 Kzoo St. Lansing, MI, or ransacked by noise bums, or recorded over. But, there was one that got away from the doomhole - a second generation cassette. The recording was at 6am before Ramirez was to catch a flight to Florida - road cone gravity bongs sent this fucker into sleepy-eyed wee-mugs that filed along towards school - periodically glancing at the house to hear this horrendous alien arguement thundering from sax/drums/guitar/keys all aligned in the rocket room. The recording is shattering. Minced analog skreedom recklessly curing informal ills and breaking windows from pure soundwave pressure. Free sound from the early years all innocent-like. Pure and demented is pure demented freedom. Screened covers - killer liners/history lesson by John Olson - limited run.

LYDSOD- ANCIENT AGE LP (nest recordings, usa)
19.98usd/13.90gbp/15.63eur/1955jpy (approx)

*Debut record from Brooklyn-based group LYDSOD on the Nest Recordings label. Devoted to an ideology of non-stop recording, "Ancient Age" is a psychedelic petri dish displaying the reassembled highlights of a year and a halfs worth of group improvisations . For each session a reel of tape is loaded onto the machine and the members embark on a journey led by the core unit of JZ Barrell on drums and Patrick Hambrecht on sampling keyboard. Guest players Alice Cohen, Zach Layton and Nick Anderson reflect the resulting axis of sound back at them, only to have it sampled again into a sonic hall of mirrors. "Ancient Age" contains the distilled essence of these 18 months of recordings, in one potent dose. Additional guest players include Hamish Kilgour (The Clean / Mad Scene), Linda Hagood (Double U / Smack Dab), Danny Tunick and Chris Talsness. One-time limited and numbered pressing of only 115 copies with full-color spraymounted covers.

MARHAUG, LASSE & FEILER, DROR- NO MORE DRAMA LP (no fun, usa)
18.98usd/13.21gbp/14.84eur/1857jpy (approx)

*Edited live recordings, sometimes sounds like a borbetomagus storm, sometimes sounds like being in the middle of a bombing in Palestine. A Picture of this record should be next to every definition of Noise music. Lasse Marhaug plays in Jazkamer and has at least 300 other great projects solo and with other people. Dror Feiler served as a paratrooper in the Israel Defense Forces, and refused to serve in the occupied territories in the early 70s. He is now a Swedish-Israeli musician and artist and has been living in Stockholm, Sweden since 1973. He is active as a composer of modern music and enjoys giving ear problems and headaches to classically trained musicians. The most brutal vinyl record you will hear this year. Limited to 300 copies.

DYLAN NYOUKIS- INSIDE WINO LODGE LP (no fun, usa)
18.98usd/13.21gbp/14.84eur/1857jpy (approx)

*New solo LP of strange sounds, vocal improvisations, strings, tape manipulations and hiss drones from Dylan Nyoukis (Decaer Pinga,Blood Stereo) inside his wino lodge. Sounds like it was recorded in a 4 track in 1972 in an insane asylum, then puke over and thrown into the sea, then discovered recently and transfer directly to Vinyl via marine analog tape communication device. Limited to 300 copies.

27.98usd/19.47gbp/21.88eur/2738jpy (approx)

KODAMA- TURNING LEAF MIGRATIONS LP (olde english spelling bee, usa)
19.98usd/13.90gbp/15.63eur/1955jpy (approx)

*Kodama is the ongoing recording project of two well-known visual and sound artists - Hitoshi Kojo and Michael Northam - and this is their first widely available release as a duo. Recorded in various improbable locations whenever they crossed paths over the course of several years and then finally edited and assembled in a cluttered garage in the west side of Indianapolis. There is a decidedly more improvisational feel and crisp psychedelic aura to these recordings when compared to their other work and one can hear the influence of Ghedalia Tazartes in how the various recordings were stitched together. Limited pressing of 500 copies. Covers & insert printed on 2-color offset press with illustrations and design by Hitoshi Kojo." -Olde English Spelling Bee "We are the spirit of forest. Our howling has been offered to the many goddesses of the valleys. Teething our emptiness they, licking the stars, until white holes appear in our sky through them towards regenerative guides of the tonal-morphic omni-verses. Using found objects to seduce voices from unlikely sources as well as traditional instruments of wind, wires and wood. Kodama weaves between emotional poetry and dynamic forces of noises. The recordings have a strong atmosphere of each location - the top of a mountain in Switzerland, a campground in Ohio, Lofoten Island in Norway, the arctic circle in Finland, Niagara Falls, etc. It includes a lot of the dirts of the raw recordings, but also incredibly beautiful moments such as the session with an owl in a Slovenian forest, an alpine summit singing meditation under the vast galaxy, and an encounter with the small people through strange ritual...

PAUL METZGER- ANAMNESTIC TINCTURE LP (roaratorio, usa)
19.98usd/13.90gbp/15.63eur/1955jpy (approx)

*Anamnestic Tincture is a live album by virtuosic musical carpenter Paul Metzger, culled from many hours of concert recordings. Side one comprises Metzgers public debut on his modified banjo, recorded in 2002 at a former church-turned-underground art space in Minneapolis. One of his most memorable compositions, "After Milo" later turned up as an untitled improvisation on his CD for the Chairkickers label. Jumping ahead six years (and several more banjo alterations later) to side two, the glittering "Orans" gets a workout at a memorial show for the artist Matt Zaun. As an acknowledgment of the occasion, Metzger also gave a one-time-only performance -- "Dark Green Water" -- on another of his mutant instruments: an acoustic guitar with the body drilled out to accommodate a cymbal set into its face, and ten assorted strings of varying lengths laid over the top, giving it a particularly metallic and dissonant sound. Anamnestic Tincture is released in an edition of 425 copies, with an original vintage snapshot mounted on each cover.

GX JUPITTER-LARSEN- BIG TIME CRASH BANG 2008 LP (rrrecords, usa)
18.98usd/13.21gbp/14.84eur/1857jpy (approx)

*The next time someone makes that old joke about noise sounding like a car crash can offer this LP as proof: its nothing but the sound of car crashes, all mangled up as only GX can do it -- tires squealing, glass shattering, metal crunching, wrecked, totalled -- SCREEEEEEEEEEEEE SMASH CRASH SCREEEEEEECH SMASH SMASH CRASH -- quite possibly the perfect noise album. GX says its his best LP to date. Im inclined to agree -- wear your seatbelt. 500 copies.

GARY WAR- NEW RAYTHEONPORT LP (shdwply, usa)
12.98usd/9.03gbp/10.15eur/1270jpy (approx)

*Recent release from former member of Ariel Pinks Haunted Graffiti… Gary War, the mysterious upstart from Brooklyn, NY has just released his debut LP this winter on SHDWPLY/DISARO Records. Playing with vast, sweeping echoes, softly sung lyrics, and infusing sonic textures through synth-driven overtures, Gary Wars album, New Raytheonport takes us through the often banal sonics of the psychedelic form with a fresh take on what seems at first, an aggregate of the past couple of decades of drug-influenced music, and drops us dead center, at the doorstep to La La Land. His tonal insobriety, from one song to the next is a true sign of the times, where artists are driven to explore different avenues, melding genres, vocal styles and instrumentation to arrive somewhere new, all the while taking the listener along for the ride. Pulling from influences that hold as much up to Chrome as they do Syd Barret, Gary War is able to wrangle them from every corner, and he even covers The Alan Parsons Project without sounding misguided,or a late arriving hippie on a hotbox high. Instead, Gary War creates a sound that wisps through the knobby branches of the past and sumptuously uproots our notions of the boundaries of psychedelia.

JUNKO & MATTIN- JUNKO & MATTIN LP (tochnit aleph, germany)
24.98usd/17.38gbp/19.54eur/2444jpy (approx)

*A new release by HIJOKAIDANs JUNKO HIROSHIGE (voice) and MATTIN (computer+voice). Two pieces recorded September 2006 in Tokyo by TAKU UNAMI.

HOTOTOGISU & BURNING STAR CORE- HOTOTOGISU & BURNING STAR CORE LP (yik yak, usa)
19.98usd/13.90gbp/15.63eur/1955jpy (approx)

*Hototogisu – the duo of UK experimentalist Matthew Bower (Skullflower/Sunroof et al) and New York-based-guitarist Marcia Bassett (Double Leopards/Zaimph/GHQ) – are all about impact, about taking the physical aspect of sound and hallucinating it to the point of abstraction, so much so that for all of the complexity of their music it often sounds like its standing still, simply hanging in the air and vibrating without anything approaching a plot to bring it to a point. By contrast, Burning Star Core, the trio of drummer Trevor Tremaine, Robert Beatty on electronics (both of whom also play in Hair Police alongside Mike Connelly of Wolf Eyes) and C.Spencer Yeh on violin and electronics, are more overtly propulsive, usurping classic rock form via electronics and drums but still focused on momentum, on the jam as a form of structural gravity, on the unfolding of action via development over time. This all-improvised studio meeting is the perfect reconciliation of both tendencies, of Hototogisus obsessive layering of strata after strata of violently conceived noise and of Burning Star Cores epic, post-Kraut thunder-punk style. Bower has long been on record about his opposition to anything approaching dialogue in improvised music, favouring a senses-devouring simultaneity over anything that might pass for actual exchange, so its no surprise that there is little on this new record that sounds even close to conventionally improvised music. Instead, it feels more focused towards the zone where energy begins to spontaneously birth form, where the monomaniacal pursuit of the nowhere zone bears fruit in the shape of a music that transcends its constituent parts while being totally based around – and rooted in - the individual response to the moment. BXC play it ginchy and garage-pop right from the start, simultaneously inverting and amplifying Bower and Bassetts vertical constructs with drums that sound like they might have been lifted straight from the most flower-power parts of the Silver Apples back catalogue and bass patterns that are as tactile and rock-anchored as Cans Holger Czukay. To hear Hototogisus music given this kind of injection of dynamic energy makes them seem more obviously sourced in classic rock music than you might otherwise have guessed, with a dense, implosive sound that feels like a hyper-distilled take on all of rocks most outlaw aspects, the feedback that makes you feel like you could explode in a ball of electricity, the anti-gravity effect of heavy fuzz, the seductive, alien tongues. Its certainly the most garage band side that either of the groups have cut to date, albeit in the form of a Gnostic, post-acid re-think where the vibration is more important than the outer forms, where energized enthusiasm makes for a more fundamental guiding principle than verse/chorus/verse and where the only direction left is out. Which is another way of saying it feels genuinely bad-ass. In an era where even the best groups seem polite, pro, participatory, democratic, this is music that is disregarding in its overwhelming power, exhilarating in it irresponsible spontaneity. And in an underground scene where self-conscious notions of avant-garde and free improvisation have long displaced any concept of an intuitive rocks off-style, well, it feels like a re-connection to the source. So file this one closer to Kill City or Sticky Fingers than Persian Surgery Dervishes or The Black Album and feel the gravity of your whole record collection shift. - David Keenan, Glasgow, November 2008.

NVH/CHASNY- PLAYS THE BOOK OF REVELATIONS LP (yik yak, usa)

*restocked… Vinyl debut of the long anticipated LP by Noel Von Harmonson (COMETS ON FIRE, NVH) and Ben Chasny (SIX ORGANS OF ADMITTANCE, COMETS ON FIRE). Guitar and electronics are deposited in a sacrificial heap at the gates of hell, sickly intertwined and indistinguishable. Bathed in the blood of apocalyptic alchemy, this caterwauling creature rears two heads and screams one wrathful scream. Recorded to two-track tape in San Francisco over the winter of 2005 and mastered by Hans Gruesel at the Krankenkabinet; features deluxe, hand screened black-on-black multipanel packaging. FOLK

D. CHARLES SPEER & THE HELIX- AFTER HOURS LP (black dirt, usa)
23.98usd/16.69gbp/18.75eur/2346jpy (approx)

*restocked… The much-anticipated blast-off release for Speer and his band. Recently rewarded 5 stars in Time Out mag by the music editor, this album is a landmark in laid-back blues and country songwriting, feat. members of NNCK and Sunburned." -S@1. "The inimitable Mr. Speer coined the term himself upon titling his pre-Helix full length release… Forgotten Country. Not so much a forgotten people of a state or a rural area. Not so either some Souths gonna rise again moonshine. More so a return to a way of presenting a music in the context of a tradition (something those boys in the band are pretty high on.) But this isnt your grandfathers Bakersfield were dealing with. Tho the tongue of the balladeer may spin tales ripe with a cast of characters including “the Pastor” Randolph Healey, Cheese Frog, the man from HHS, Uncle Ernie, that guy with the black mustache and red Caddy who stole your girl, and the true born sons of Levi, he sings them not only with the twang of the roadhouse, but tainted with the grit of the streets of the big city. As one casual listener once noted to the band after a performance, “You guys play both types… Country and Psych.” And its true that the sounds contained on After Hours do act on the mind as much as they tug at the heartstrings. Replete with tales of mental instability, infidelity, drunken advice, wartime hucksters, heartbreak, and redemption, the first album by D Charles with his backing band will surely immediately stand out amongst the shards of gothic Americana that litter our fair sonic landscape.Edition of 500 Recorded at Black Dirt Studio. Black Dirt is the new in-house label from Jason Meaghers (NNCK, K Salvatore, Coach Fingers, D Charles Speer and the Helix, etc...) Black Dirt Studios in upstate New York.

PIGEONS- VIRGIN SPECTACLE LP (black dirt, usa)
23.98usd/16.69gbp/18.75eur/2346jpy (approx)

*restocked… Beautiful dream-dementia pop from a couple tangentially related to the Sea Donkeys/Sublime Frequencies camp in Seattle." -S@1. "Pigeons and doves are so closely related, they are practically interchangeable in the minds of the people who classify such fowl. But in the eyes of the general public, the dove is a beautiful bird symbolizing freedom and peace while the pigeon is a dirty rat with wings that eats our citys garbage and craps on our cars. But maybe the pigeon is a crafty bird, content with its own beauty and happy to obscure it to avoid the glare of our ever intrusive public eye. Virgin Spectacle is a distorted, hungover, and elusive statement. And its in French. Except one word at the end. Or more, if you are to believe those responsible. Regardless, amongst all the fog and feathers is a collection of comely pop and sonic excursions guaranteed to lodge itself in your waking subconscious. Hell, you might even dream of a few of these songs. The fine people who constitute the band named Pigeons would like you to believe that they have stumbled incidentally upon such charm, like a diamond in the mine. Dont believe it. Take yourself out of your particular urban situation. Look toward the skies, and see the besmirched bird for what it really is. They have laid out a sonic journey meant to disorient on the surface, but if you follow their flight youll find yourself cruising along and singing in a language you may not understand. Edition of 500 Recorded at Black Dirt Studio.

KING DARVES- THE SUN SPLITS FOR... THE BLIND SWIMMER LP (destijl, usa)
16.98usd/11.82gbp/13.28eur/1661jpy (approx)

*restocked… So i would imagine that youd have one look at the photo of King Darves we have here and think "Oh brother! Another guy with a beard getting over what looks like a bad case of the clap and an acoustic guitar. Wheres my axe?" so were not gonna put it up here. (Mystique, dig?) But its really not like that, i tell you! The bedrock of King Darves New Brunswick based concoction is certainly folk based but theres no headband and hes not singing of pixies in the moss. This is somewhere between rolled cigs and the foggy vision of Big Pink from somewhere on Jersey Avenue, or maybe a one-manned Meat Puppets. This kid has really cobbled something together in his kitchen sink! The Sun Splits For ... The Blind Swimmer will shock and please when the prettiest sound of his deep, rich voice comes out of yr headphones, and itll make you tap yr toes and nod yr head like a little Jersey Goil. - Tony Rettman

JAZZ

JULIE ANDREWS- LASS WITH DELICATE AIR LP (doxy, italy)
23.98usd/16.69gbp/18.75eur/2346jpy (approx)

*This was the singer's 1957 debut album, recorded after she had become a major Broadway star but before the move to Hollywood celebrity. Choosing not to include any of her acclaimed Broadway hits, she instead recorded an amazingly interpreted and beautifully orchestrated (by Irwin Kostal) selection of classic English folk songs, with the exception of Noel Coward's 1941 "London Pride," which celebrated the strength and pride of city dwellers during the World War II London air raids.

MILES DAVIS- DIGGIN' WITH THE MILES DAVIS SEXTET LP (doxy, italy)
23.98usd/16.69gbp/18.75eur/2346jpy (approx)

*Originally released in the early 1950s as the Prestige 10" "Dig," later reissued as a 12" with additional tracks, and still later reissued again (completely out of context) under the title "Diggin'" to fit into the "Cookin'," "Steamin'," "Workin'" series, this features 5 fine early Miles Davis bop tracks: "Dig," "It's Only a Paper Moon," "Denial," "Bluing," and "Out of the Blue," with Davis on trumpet, Sonny Rollins tenor sax, a young Jackie McLean on alto sax, Walter Bishop Jr. on piano, Tommy Porter or Charlie Mingus on bass and Art Blakey on drums.

MILES DAVIS- THE MILES DAVIS QUARTET LP (doxy, italy)
23.98usd/16.69gbp/18.75eur/2346jpy (approx)

*This collects 8 tracks from 3 different sessions in 1953 and 1954, recorded for the Prestige label. "When Lights are Low," "Tune-Up," "Miles Ahead" and "Smooch" feature Miles Davis on trumpet, John Lewis on piano, Charlie Mingus on bass and piano, Percy HEath on bass, and Max Roach on drums. "Four," "Old Devil Moon" and "Blue Haze" have Davis on trumpet, Horace Silver on piano, Heath on bass again, and Art Blakey on drums. "I'll Remember April" has Davis on trumpet, Dave Schildkraut on alto sax, Silver and Heath again on piano and bass, and Kenny Clarke on drums.

CHARLES MINGUS- EAST COASTING LP (doxy, italy)
23.98usd/16.69gbp/18.75eur/2346jpy (approx)

*This 1957 release on Bethlehem has Mingus and his band (Bill Evans on piano, Jimmy Knepper on trombone, Clarence Shaw and Shafi Hadi on tenor and alto, with drummer Danny Richmond) stretching the boundaries of bop in unpredictable ways on these 5 Mingus originals and one standard. Original art and liner notes.

CHARLES MINGUS- EAST COASTING LP (doxy, italy)
23.98usd/16.69gbp/18.75eur/2346jpy (approx)

*Originally released as two 10" records called "Jazzical Moods," these 1954 sessions include the work of John LaPorta, Teo Macero, Thad Jones, Jackson Wiley and Clem De Rosa on 6 cool tracks including a great take on "Stormy Weather." Original artwork,

DUBSTEP AND GRIME

23HZ & NUMAESTRO- ZUMA/FANTASMAS 12” (2nd drop, uk)
12.98usd/9.03gbp/10.15eur/1270jpy (approx)

*Finish copy promo… Like many legendary duo’s - Ike and Tina, Torvil and Dean, Hue and Cry - the chemistry is all-important. And for 23hz & Numaestro it’s no different. The ex pat Barcelona residents are a blend of super techy engineer (23hz) with experienced DJ (Numaestro) whose joint musical journey has mutated through hip hop, soul, drum and bass and techno, into dubstep via UKG and the early sounds of Groove Chronicles, EL-B and Horsepower, is precisely what gives their sound its probing and hypnotic quality. This their third dubstep release, after previous tracks on Bristol based Immerse and as their alter-ego Relocate, Zumo and Fantasmas is already getting props from key players Skream and Breakage, and is set to be a key release in 2009. Zumo kicks off the A side, a wailing banshee impregnated with a filter-bomb, rides atop a bulging sub and pulsing electro refrain which nags and rolls with hypnotic effect, a tell tale sign of the duo’s production style. It’s not all about bangers! And these guys know how to develop a mood and pocket of rhythm up their with Digital Mystikz. Skream has been opening sets with this builder! Fantasmas on the flip is a bassbin destroyer! The phrase “how low can you go” should have originated from this track. A bouncing bassline that could have been stolen from a grotty jungle record dominates, accompanied by a haunting Mediterranean-infused vocal refrain. As always, 2nd Drop commission some fresh and totally bespoke artwork, with this release designed by Portuguese illustrator, Uiu.

BENGA- THE INVASION 2X12” (big apple music, uk)
24.98usd/17.38gbp/19.54eur/2444jpy (approx)

*shop favorite repressed/restocked… Benga's back on the Big Apple Music with this FAT seven track The Invasion EP. Played by and rewound many times by N-Type, Youngsta, Skream, Digital Mystiks, Hijak. Widely regarded as one of the founding forefathers of the scene known as dubstep, after early heads like El-B and Steve Gurley had laid the foundations on swung garage beats and post-jungle rhythms, along came Benga and Big Apple records.

AKIRA KITESHI- PINBALL/NO GLITCH 12” (blackacre, uk)
12.98usd/9.03gbp/10.15eur/1270jpy (approx)

*Finish copy promo... Pinball: It’s 2009 and time to expose the world to the sonic delights of Akira Kiteshi: a super Scots android duo currently hiding out in the automata underground after being wrongly accused of cross device sex crimes involving an SP1200, two analogue reels and a heavily warped copy of “Commadore 64 sound FX 4”. Their sound is a melting pot of all things interesting about the current electronic credit crunk climate, the wet meets the dry and the curiously wooden is taunted by the oddly synthetic. Pinball is like an 80’s arcade game soundtrack for an orgy organised by R2D2 and Rick James Trapped within Tron. Wonky meets wobbly. Noglitch Pt 1&2: On the flip we take it back to the Ol Boom Bap! Here the A.K. kids employ a kick snare combo that Dj Premier could (and would) eat his dinner off with an analogue synth-line invoking the dominance of an apocalyptic storm front. Just when 8 bit grooves are locked and the children are dancing the mainframe crashes and we are thrown into glitch melt down…only to be dragged back to out feet with a massive dancehaul rerub. Fyaaaaahhhh! Support : Flying Lotus, Rustie, Joker, Boreta, N-Type, edIT, Clouds, Tes La Rok, Rob Booth, 16bit.

NIVEAU ZERO- ROTOR 12” (destpub, france)
12.98usd/9.03gbp/10.15eur/1270jpy (approx)

*restocked… Destination pub! Let's drink a good beer, while listening to this fat hard bass to open the chakras! Loud sound thanx to a massive premastering and an excellent cut. A new dubstep French artist, on a new dubstep French label? Massive! After 16bit, MonstR, Liquid Wicked and Hupsy Down, 5th release features up-and-coming French artist Niveau Zero for his first 10''. This amazingly open-minded producer delivers a taste of massive and melodic electronic music, a synthesis of all the genres that made his personality, from warp artists to today's dubstep bangers. A- 'Rotor': A mighty yet original 4x4 tune, mixing a techno kick, nervous rotor wobble, steppa dub vibes, guitar skanks and cinematic voices samples, 'Rotor' brings a rich meal on the turntables. Breakdown even leads to an unexpected socca beat that switches the track in an explosive way, leaving listeners astonished. B - 'Cause Of Death': On the flip and still on a 4x4 steppa beat, melodic synths and berimbau meet distorted guitar riffs and hits, led by a rolling dub bassline.

DROID- SO WOT/HEADACHE 12” (down south dub, uk)
12.98usd/9.03gbp/10.15eur/1270jpy (approx)

*Droid comes steppin’ on this, the fifth release for Down South Dub. A-Side : SoWot has got that hard-synth driven jumpy sound while the B side Headache takes us into a more stripped back sound with a sprinkling of those, now mainstay, dubstep ‘GM’ trumpets.

ROB SPARX- THE BLACK SHEEP 12” (dubting, uk)
12.98usd/9.03gbp/10.15eur/1270jpy (approx)

*Here comes Rob Sparx with “The Black Sheep EP”. This is truly a taste of things to come from the highly anticipated album “Trooper”, forthcoming on Dubting in early 2009. An amazing listening journey that will satisfy Dubstep’s deepest fan base. This man has worked solidly for a whole year perfecting his sound and with this EP, it really does show. The production techniques used are second to none and I am sure Rob Sparx will be on the tip of tongues of many influential musos across the globe in 2009. This is one’s for the deep n’ chilled crew who like a tasteful twist.

EDMX- CORAL CITY/CREOLE 2 12” (frijsfo beats, uk)
12.98usd/9.03gbp/10.15eur/1270jpy (approx)

*Finish copy promo… UK garage, dubstep & electro!! Frijsfo Beats is proud to welcome on board a UK electronic music hero in Ed DMX, AKA DMX Krew. Ed offers a new kind of treat from the archives, fusing two-step swing and spacious dubstep rhythms with his immediately recognisable analogue style. The package also includes ‘Creole 2’, an uptempo ragga rhythm complete with shimmering electronic steel drums. Fans will know Ed from prolific work on the Aphex Twin-founded Rephlex label. The ability to mutate a Detroitesque electro sound into sick hybrid forms is something he’s ably proven on releases like the ‘Collapse of the Wave Function’ series. The material on ‘2K3 Beats’ dates from 2003-4, but now seems the right time for these atmospheric tracks to see the light of day.

PANGAEA- YOU & I/ROUTER 12” (hassle audio, uk)
12.98usd/9.03gbp/10.15eur/1270jpy (approx)

*Returning to the front line once again after the tech-spoilings of his ‘Coiled EP’ last year, Hessle coowner Pangaea further enhances his imprint’s progressive attitude. ‘You & I’ skips and melts in equal measures, snappy, skattering beats clatter with an infectious two-step swing, supplemented by a globular bassline, which seems to dip in and out. All this movement is coated in ethereal laments, dance music for sensory deprivation tanks. ‘Router’ on the flip sounds like a re-visioning of Digital Mystikz’s ‘Neverland’ which drifts casually into a Burial wonderland, poaching a muffled vocal and fistful of ambience, extremely delicately put together. Support for these tracks comes from DJ’s from all corners of the world and from a variety of genres including airplay on Radio 1. Grab these quick before they fly out!

GUIDO- ORCHESTRAL LAB/WAY YOU MAKE ME FEEL 12” (punch drunk, uk)
12.98usd/9.03gbp/10.15eur/1270jpy (approx)

*Finish copy promo… 2009 brings the debut from the final member of the much talked about Bristol ‘Purple Trinity’ who, alongside Joker and Gemmy, has crafted new technicolour frequencies for the ever evolving dubstep spectrum. ‘Orchestral Lab’ is pure Davinche style strings, square wave pulses, infectious hooks and 808s. Restrained yet anthemic. Irrestistable and addictive. This track has been raising eyebrows on dancefloors and radio for a few months. The other side brings a switch in tempo but remains definitively Guido. A 21st century lament and a cure for dubstep depression, wonky woes and grimey gloominess. This is just a glimpse of the colours Guido has in his lab. This is 2009, the ‘Purple WoW Sound’ is here.

KROMESTAR- VINTAGE/KILLER RAY 12” (southside dubstars, uk)
12.98usd/9.03gbp/10.15eur/1270jpy (approx)

*Big release from Kromestar on the almighty Southside Dubstars label. This is everything you can expect and love from Kromestar.

FUSED FORCES- WHAT'S GOING DOWN/CHEST INFECTION 12” (substance abuse, uk)
12.98usd/9.03gbp/10.15eur/1270jpy (approx)

*A: "Whats Going Down" comes with a heavy jungle influence, silky female vocals, amen breaks and deep sub bass. B: "Chest Infection" on the flip takes a more dark and techy vibe, with analog stabs of bass and crunching beats. This release has been played by many Dj's including Bunzero, Matt U, Beezy, Subsound, Militant both in clubs, and on radio stations around the world.

PHAELEH FT. NGAIO- FIRE/ISOLATE 12” (surface tension, uk)
12.98usd/9.03gbp/10.15eur/1270jpy (approx)

*Phaeleh's music - and I use the word "music" purposefully, not "beats" or "tunes" - is quite really some of the best unsigned stuff I've heard this year. - Christine Vaccine Bristol producer and Urban Scrumping label head Phaeleh starts off on Surface Tension with enough melody, flavor and sub-bass for everyone. Starting off with "Fire", vocalist Ngaio throws down some soulful vocals over a dancefloor-smashing bassline that envelops you in sonic warmth and seismic wub. Ostensibly halfstep beats are given momentum by the bassline and the cut up breaks underpinning it all. You will be singing this one to yourself for WEEKS. Promise. Flip it over for "Isolate", a more chilled tune with melodic string bits and ambient vocals washing over solid bass drops. Spacious sounds and textures meld together for a decidedly melodic and musical take on the dubstep sound.

TRILL BASS- LOTUS/GHOST 12” (trill bass, usa)
12.98usd/9.03gbp/10.15eur/1270jpy (approx)

*From the corner to the block, the members of Trill Bass have been putting it down for years. This hard hitting group has one shared life mission: to produce and deliver hard hitting, head banging, chest romping BASS to the masses. First release from this new US Dubstep label.

UNIT MOEBIUS- THE GOLDEN YEARS PART 1 12” (clone classic cuts, netherlands)
13.98usd/9.73gbp/10.93eur/1368jpy (approx)

*The first vinyl version of the upcoming CD album with some magical works of Unit Moebius. This first 12'' contains some of their hottest tracks including the legendary ''World goes around'', an evil cover of a classic Chicagohouse track by Cool McCool. The flip side contains the more deeper side from their first releases. For those who were there in those years '91/'92/'93, at the famous parties in The Hague and Rotterdam, this is a walk down memory lane, for those to young or living in other parts of the world... imagine these tracks in a dark, very dark sweaty basement with only strobe light and smoke machines, camouflage nets, and jacking acid and techno sounds for more then 10 ours. Dj's such as I-f, Serge, Schmerzlabor, Peter Ptau Ptau and live acts such as Unit Moebius played the hottest and freshest music all night long until you lost your sense of time and place and ended in a total mind trip. The pure essence of house and techno! The golden years!

UNIT MOEBIUS- THE GOLDEN YEARS PART 1 12” (clone classic cuts, netherlands)
13.98usd/9.73gbp/10.93eur/1368jpy (approx)

*restocked… Second vinyl version of the CD album with more magical works of Unit Moebius. Including the funking 'Beat That Perculator' re-arranging 'I Beat That Bitch with a Bat', 'Its Time for the Perculator' and 'the Pressure Cooker' into a totally dirty twisted The Hague jack track! THE BEAT BROKER- MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY 12” (flexx, netherlands)
13.98usd/9.73gbp/10.93eur/1368jpy (approx)

*Second Beat Broker release featuring killer high energy space disco track 'My Way Or The Highway'. A big big tune in Patrick Cowley tradition that works its way to an exploding climax. Flip for 'Night Shift', a beautiful melancholic emo-disco tune that has 'Beat Broker' written all over it, pure class. Featuring a dance-floor disco/house remix by John Daly, the man who can do no wrong. Recommended, or what did you expect.

HEARTSREVOLUTION- ULTRAVIOLENCE 12” (kitsune, france)
13.98usd/9.73gbp/10.93eur/1368jpy (approx)

*Mixing the visual Ker-POW! of Japanese Anime, the grinding discontent of Riot Grrrl and an intelligent disco breakdown, they've come to turn your black and white universe to technicolor. Lo (voice) and Ben (prog) bonded over a mutual love of Bowie, Daft Punk and The Strokes. But their musical brew is not some concoction of the three. It's a wide screen vision that takes in the belief beauty can be found next to the horrific. A place where the beautiful and brutal sit hand in bloody hand. Ultraviolence comes with a featuring of Naeem from Spankrock rapping all over the track. Chateau Marmont are adding their French groove and soundtracks moody science to the track. Club winners are the infamous Streetlife Djs mashing up the track and Vitalic is making it a late night anthem ! The 12" of the end of the year, a must have ! Feel free to jump to their very own fleet of ice cream trucks operating under the name HEARTSCHALLENGER. With the trucks stationed in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami, they spread their message of freedom and the visual aesthetic of confectionery which informs their work- from their artwork to Lo's unique stage make up...

NEW ARRIVALS AND RESTOCKS FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 20

Photobucket

thanks for looking.

another week, another massive update. i didn’t plan on getting in so many choice titles, but too many good things presented themselves, so as the saying goes, i striked (or is it strook?) while the irons hot… truthfully, there’s too many highlights this week, but the buffalo/bison bop lp’s are a standout, a bunch of psych reissue from lion productions (and assorted other labels), the new siltbreeze vinyl is not to be missed, more killer dubstep, tons of new dance 12s (more ed banger and kitsune back catalog titles!), more new codek, clone, crème, kompakt, rekids, tiny sticks, vintage, etc, etc… seeing (and hearing) is believing, so come on by and check em out!!!

gracias

ROCK AND PSYCHEDELIC

LA LIBRE EXPRESION- LA LIBRE EXPRESION LP (no label, mexico)
23.98usd/16.67gbp/18.85eur/2247jpy (approx)

*Very limited reissue of this '60's Mexican garage psych gem similar to Los Ovnis and The Flying Karpets. Spirited, fuzz laden cover versions of songs by Steppenwolf, Blue Cheer, Young Rascals, Jimi Hendrix and others laden with the over-the-top enthusiasm expected from this part of the world. Great psych art sleeve too.

SURVIVAL- LA ONDA DE SURVIVAL CD (no label, mexico)
16.98usd/11.80gbp/13.35eur/1591jpy (approx)

*Super rare Mexican heavy psych album from 1971, filled with wah-wah guitar, ripping fuzz and primitive effects. Bluesy acid psych with a typical Mexican '60's sound. The jewel case CD package is ultra-Spartan: no liner notes or label/catalogue number.

TONCHO PILATOS- TONCHO PILATOS CD (no label, mexico)
16.98usd/11.80gbp/13.35eur/1591jpy (approx)

*Stunning Mexican album from 1973, which has some excellent psychedelic jamming and a fine blues based Led Zeppelin style. Reputedly one of the rarest South American albums, it certainly ranks up there with Aguaturbia and Los Dug Dugs as one of the best... or as BECK says, "I grew up in L.A., so I have tons of weird Mexican rock from the '70s — that's a whole universe unto itself. Like Toncho Pilatos, these wild-looking guys. All of these album covers were full of, like, gangs of psychedelic-looking Mexican dudes and pyramids. It was their version of what was going on in England or the U.S. but with more of their culture and influences thrown in there." Toncho Pilates were one of the biggest bands in Guadalajara, along with Mexican Rock legends like Fachada de Piedra, La Revolución de Emiliano Zapata and Los Spiders.

UNDERGROUND FAILURE- THE UNDERGROUND FAILURE CD (black light, sweden)
19.98usd/13.89gbp/15.71eur/1872jpy (approx)

*Swedish underground counter-culture monster album from 1971, originally released as a private pressing of 150 copies, never sold at shops at the time. These bunch of freaks were clearly influenced by Dylan, early Velvet Underground and The Fugs, but they came with a sound of their own. Stoned/druggy atmosphere alternating from acoustic/acid-folk tracks to devastating, fuzzed-out ones like 'Green Ocelot,' which was included at #38 in the recent 'Punk Before Punk' top 50 list in Ugly Things magazine. Limited to 500 copies, with remastered sound in nice paper-sleeve mini-LP replica.

KALEIDOSCOPE- KALEIDOSCOPE LP (ciruela electica, mexico)

KALEIDOSCOPE- KALEIDOSCOPE CD (ciruela electica, mexico)
19.98usd/13.89gbp/15.71eur/1872jpy (approx)

*new mini-LP sleeve compact disc version of this monster psych classic from Mexico City c.1968/69, one of the rarest and most desired psychedelic albums of all time! A great album, with all songs in English—heavy grooves, super fuzzified guitar and a raving, ranting, drooling savage garage sound.

BEAT BOYS- BEAT BOYS CD (lion productions, usa)
16.98usd/11.80gbp/13.35eur/1591jpy (approx)

*Caetano called the Beat Boys, an Argentinean group settled in São Paulo who had been inspired by the Beatles, to accompany him in ‘Alegria, Alegria.’ That, in fact marked the beginning of the Tropicalista thing. - Gilberto Gil… Along with Os Mutantes, the Beat Boys represented the most radical element in Brazilian rock: their name, clothes, hair—and intense fuzz guitar raves—were all fierce indicators of a rebel spirit, and this in a dangerous time for such self-expression. Here is the simple truth: The Beat Boys were at the very epicenter of the cultural revolution that convulsed Brazil during the late 1960’s, that movement of rupture, that bringing together of electricity and avant-garde erudition that has come to be known as “Tropicália.” They backed Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil for their defining moments as artists—both live, and in the studio on tracks which became the opening Tropicalist salvo (a rare EP). So, what were this group of Argentine rock musicians doing in the forefront of all things outrageous in Brazil? More to the point, why is it that very few people, even among the Brazilian music cognoscenti, have ever heard of them? One explanation must be the fact that the band were essentially outsiders to the Brazilian music scene. As unlikely as it was for them to penetrate the inner circles of Brazilian elite musicians (it was unlikely), it was even more unlikely that they would remain there once their closest friends, Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil, were exiled from Brazil. This disc includes the Beat Boys entire output under their own name: their sole album—an exercise in what one might call “controlled Tropicália”, laden with torrid psychedelic moments (released by RCA Victor in 1968), as well as a rare singles track from the same year. A 20-page booklet includes lyrics, and an exploration of the Beat Boys’ fascinating story.

LENO- VIDA E OBRA DE JOHNNY MCCARTNEY CD (lion productions, usa)
16.98usd/11.80gbp/13.35eur/1591jpy (approx)

*Leno’s “Vida e Obra de Johnny McCartney” was intended as the next musical step after Tropicália, it’s full-blooded rock and roll approach intended to link the music that had already been made to the music that would be played a few years later. This record just might have been that bold step had CBS released it in 1971. But censors banned most of the tracks, and Leno was fortunate (thanks perhaps to his string of innocent sounding Jovem Guarda number one chart hits in Brazil as half of duo Leno e Lillian) not to experience the exile or imprisonment of other artists of the time. He was also fortunate that the master tapes survived in the CBS vaults, making them available for this reissue. The album has a sound that has more to do with bands such as Sly & The Family Stone, the Beatles (post 1967), Cream, and Steppenwolf, and features contributions from music legends Marcos Valle, Raul Seixas (anarchic surrealistic icon of Brazilian counterculture), hard psych rockers A Bolha, and members of Los Shakers and Renato e Seus Blue Caps. One of the most singular records of the 1970’s rock era in Brazil, speaking in terms both historic and musical, with a significance in Brazil that makes people who know it well wonder how it has taken so long to be known worldwide, in a time when the efforts of the Brazilian rock and psychedelic underground scene are so well-documented. A 24-page booklet (packed with photos and lyrics) details Leno’s career, as well as the story behind this exceptional record.

ODYSSEY- SETTING FORTH LP (lion productions, usa)
24.98usd/17.36gbp/19.64eur/2341jpy (approx)

*restocked… Once upon a time, when the music business was more music than business (but only just), there was a band that created a quintessential dose of New York sixties psychedelia—strong harmonic vocals, heavy swirling organ, and fuzz guitar riffs of the greatest ferocity. Their lone album, one of the ten rarest and most sought after US psychedelic albums, is available on vinyl for the first time since its original pressing—painstakingly remastered, repackaged, and ready for true psych fans to devour. This is truly one of the cornerstones of underground psychedelic music, recorded in 1969, released in an edition of fewer than 100 copies, and impossible to find as it only came in a plain white cardboard sleeve. An album that jumps right out of the speakers at you, from it’s opening “In-a-gadda-da-vida” riffs right to the very end. Gatefold spread has a band history by Odyssey leader Vinny Kusy, as well as rare photos from his own archive. Now, on to the presentation... Highest quality mastering and pressing (done at Acoustech Mastering/RTI in California); the resulting LP is housed in a poly-lined sleeve, which is inside an ultra-heavy 1960's Project label style gatefold jacket.

GHOST- WHEN YOU'RE DEAD, ONE SECOND CD (mellotron, italy)
16.98usd/11.80gbp/13.35eur/1591jpy (approx)

*The Ghost LP is one of the most fabulous UK psych/prog albums. This Birmingham band featured guitarist Paul Eastment, previously in The Velvett Fogg. The album, originally released back in 1970 on the Gemini label in the UK and in 1971 on Exit/Ekipo records in Spain, is one step ahead psychedelia entering the realm of prog music, yet retaining an atmospheric mind expanding feel through it all. Loads of Hammond organ swirls, pyrotechnical guitar licks, beautiful acoustic guitar parts, and above it all, killer vocal arrangements, with the special attraction of Shirley Kent's beautiful tone (Shirley would later move on to record the Fresh Out LP as Virginia Tree). Top quality remastered sound, an impressing addition to your psych prog collection! First ever official CD reissue, limited to 1000 digipack copies.

JERUSALEM- JERUSALEM CD (rockadrome, usa)
14.98usd/10.41gbp/11.78eur/1404jpy (approx)

*first official reissue of this infamous heavy rock Decca/Deram label album from 1972, produced by Deep Purple's legendary frontman, Ian Gillan, who said of them: “Not many bands really excite me. But this one’s so raw and completely unpretentious. They make the biggest, bloodiest noise you can imagine, tempered with moments of extreme emotion.” And, of course, he’s right—the music is a menacing combination of over-the-top vocals and screaming lead guitars that could easily pass for something from the early British heavy metal scene. A favorite among vinyl collectors, the album is presented here in its ultimate glory, with all tracks taken from the original master tapes; also features pre-album demos, alternate mixes and a non-LP singles track. The twenty-page color booklet contains liner notes written by bassist Paul Dean, lyrics, press clippings and rare photos!" Rough, raw, and doomy!

NEGATIVE SPACE- HARD, HEAVY, MEAN & EVIL CD (rockadrome, usa)
14.98usd/10.41gbp/11.78eur/1404jpy (approx)

*Official reissue of ultra-rare 1970 underground psychedelic rock record born out of the early New Jersey scene and fueled by the revolutionary air of the period. The sound is raw basement fuzz guitar charged rock in it's purest form, inspired by the likes of Cream, Blue Cheer, Jimi Hendrix, Nazz and others! Fueled by the revolutionary air that prevailed during his days at Rider College and the entrapment of marriage at a young age, Rob Russen drew upon his frustrations and anger as well as the influences of Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Blue Cheer, the Illusion, Steppenwolf, and Nazz among others of the era to create the material for Hard, Heavy, Mean & Evil. Russen recruited musicians Jimmy Moy (guitar/vocals), Bob Rittner (bass/vocals) and Lou Nunziatta (drums) to form the original lineup of Negative Space. Over a three year period, with minor variations, the group continued to perform, record and evolve into Snow. In the late '60s Rob Russen, with his cherry red Gibson SG, Baldwin Exterminator amplifier and fuzztone was a powerful force in the heavy rock emanating from the East Coast. Studio engineer Tony Pappa of MSI often commented about how difficult it was to contain and capture the power and fury of Russen's music on the four track equipment used on these recordings. Negative Space and Snow recorded on Castle Records, a small independent label formed by Russen in 1965. All recording were limited issue with only a thousand copies of each single and 500 copies of the original Hard, Heavy, Mean & Evil album released. With the release of the album, Negative Space toured the East Coast extensively, opening for such national recording acts as Steppenwolf, Vanilla Fudge, Three Dog Night, Rare Earth, Eric Burdon & War and Grand Funk Railroad.

LIGHT PSYCHEDELIC HARMONY

CONGREGACION- VIENE LP (no label, usa)
24.98usd/17.36gbp/19.64eur/2341jpy (approx)

*An undeniably beautiful gem from the early-70s Chilean underground, Congregacion's only album Viene is a rarely heard masterpiece, full of delicate atmospherics and dreamy textures. Congregacion were a group spearheaded by the apparently mythical figure of Antonio Smith, whose progressive and hopeful lyrics (their significant political, philosophical and religious content made them a real "celebration of life"), earned him the enmity of the Chilean military dictatorship; he was forced to flee the country and Viene (plus a rare single), proved to be Congregacion's only releases. Musically, they crafted ballads in an Andean style with ethnic atmospheres—one could say they made a kind of psychedelic folk with progressive leanings. Had things worked out differently, this album might be held in as high regard as comparable masterpieces like say, Milton Nascimento's Clube de Esquina, for example, although Congregacion is far more in a psychedelic vein. The music of Congregacion has an evocative sense of open space, using natural sounds and acoustic textures to foreground Smith's soaring melodies. The results are incredibly beautiful. Like another album, Bulent's Benimle Oynar Misin, it has just the perfect balance plaintively sorrowful acid/folk and gently arranged pop (those Beatles-esque harmonics are impossible to overlook). This is a highly recommended album that is surely one of the pinnacles of Latin American folk/psych. Limited edition of 500 copies; gatefold jacket is exact reproduction of the (über-rare) original, and includes notes and lyrics on the LP inner sleeve.

A PASSING FANCY- A PASSING FANCY CD (lion productions, usa)
16.98usd/11.80gbp/13.35eur/1591jpy (approx)

*revised and expanded version of the much beloved Canadian pop-psych album by A Passing Fancy! This edition has been a long time in the works, with most of the delay resulting from our efforts to make something out of the fragments of mangled stereo master tape that still exist (the previous edition was in mono). All the production delays left us with plenty of time to consider the excellence of the album, which has surprising variety: tough garage rock (lead track ‘I’m Losing Tonight’); beat music influence (singles tracks ‘A Passing Fancy,’ ‘You're Going Out Of Your Mind,’ and ‘She Phoned’); sunshine pop (‘I Believe in Sunshine’); songs with a social conscience (the discursive ‘Spread Out’); and a great acid rock meltdown (‘Your Trip’). These same delays also left us ample opportunity to uncover what had become of the various band members. A bit of searching led us to A Passing Fancy lead singer, rhythm guitarist, and primary song-writer Jay Telfer. He supplied a band history and lyrics for all the songs to round out this revamped edition of an album considered by many to be the best to come out of Canada during the late 1960’s. Includes the fuzzed-out single version of ‘I’m Losing Tonight’ as a bonus track.

EL KINTO- CIRCA 1968 LP (lion productions, usa)
21.98usd/15.28gbp/17.28eur/2060jpy (approx)

*I was lucky to see Uruguayan music born. Before El Kinto it didn't exist, and if it did I did not know it or like it. - Osvaldo Fattorusso… An exact replica of the original Clave label LP release of fourteen crucial tracks by these Uruguayan legends, whose line-up includes members of Totem and Limonada, and features the compositional abilities of poet/panhandler and acid casualty Eduardo Mateo and his alter-ego, candombe legend Ruben Rada. El Kinto began their brief but eventful life in music playing in the dark shadows at Orfeo Negro (Black Orpheus), a night club near the Portones de Carrasco in Montevideo, Uruguay. Inspired by the way Tropicalistas like Os Mutantes were transforming the pop music of Brazil, El Kinto embraced their own native music forms—but, as always, they went a step further: they integrated candombe and bossa nova into beat music, but they also added their own notion of “psicodelics.” They experimented with newness in all its variety—new sounds from their guitars, new types of vocal delivery, new ways of striking the drums (with little brooms, with gavels or their hands). As one journalist noted in 1969, “El Kinto, directed by the brilliant Mateo, and amplified to the maximum... creates a frenzy of rhythmic music in which—with force and conviction—pure wave ‘beat’ is synthesized with the warmth of the African drums.” The result of the group’s tireless experiments is music which sounds fresh and engaging today. In a world dominated by the commercialization of everything—including (although it is difficult to comprehend)—the arts, all we can say is, thank god for El Kinto! Now, on to the presentation—the highest quality mastering and pressing (done at Acoustech Mastering/RTI in California, the same people who master and press every title that audiophile label Classic Records makes); the resulting LP is housed in a poly-lined sleeve, inside an ultra-heavy 1960's style jacket, which is housed in a loose-fitting plastic sleeve. Inside you will find a double-fold insert packed with photos, detailed band history, and lyrics for this most important of Uruguayan bands, printed on 100% recycled paper. The LP labels are replicas of the Sondor originals. A top of the line pressing all the way. Limited edition of 500 copies.

LIMONADA- LIMONADA LP (lion productions, usa)
21.98usd/15.28gbp/17.28eur/2060jpy (approx)

*Although they sprung ready-made from of the ashes of legendary candombe/beat group El Kinto, one of the best-kept secrets from Uruguay’s musical mythology is nevertheless the group of musicians who recorded one album as Limonada. So what happened? The story starts with the end of El Kinto, when band leader and iconoclastic maniac Eduardo Mateo decided to embark on a solo career (see our Lion Productions collection of his early music for more details), and the other members of El Kinto said “let’s do something together.” And so it was that in the middle of 1970, Limonada recorded their one and only album, “LimoNada” (Sondor 33.111). It is a strange record, with backwards tape splices and abrupt song changes, that remains at the same time absolutely accessible and very groovy, in a Tropicalia sort of way, which might explain why it was an immediate success. In truth, it’s a profound mystery why the Limonada LP—one of the ten best sellers of its time within three weeks of its release—seems to have vanished from the consciousness of even the most devoted fans of obscure music. Until now, of course. Inside you will find an insert with historical background on the Uruguayan scene, details of the band’s past, plenty of photos, as well as a brief overview of the legendary Sondor label, printed on 100% recycled paper. The LP labels are replicas of the Sondor originals. A top of the line pressing all the way. Limited edition of 500 copies.

EMMANUELLE PARRENIN- MAISON ROSE LP (lion productions, usa)
24.98usd/17.36gbp/19.64eur/2341jpy (approx)

*We begin by saying that this is an album unlike any other. A bold statement, perhaps. Yet look in the “Scented Gardens of the Mind” book and you will see this description: “a revelation of a folk album, with songs of incredible beauty and innovative arrangements. It features traditional instruments you’ve hardly ever heard before and touches of the avant-garde. Play this album directly after that of another randomly chosen female folk album, and you will notice the difference! This is one of the best!” Parrenin had been part of a traditional “antique folk” movement in France in the late 1960’s (she was in many ways a French equivalent to Sandy Denny or Mandy Morton); indeed, she had recorded eight albums with musicians from this scene before “Maison Rose”—her best, and last album, recorded in 1976 and released the following year. The record seems to alternate between a cosmic take on an ancient Breton sound, and delicate, multi-tracked ballads—ranging from sounds that would not be out of place on an Ash Ra Tempel album to elements of traditional French folk music (including home-made instruments) that are just as exotic. Certainly, the avant-garde edge lurking beneath the simple folkiness of “Maison Rose” puts in mind the explorations of Brigitte Fontaine with her sometime musical voyager Areski; there are also suggestions of the pastoral caranavserai aesthetic of Vashti Bunyan, as well as the multi-track sensuality of Linda Perhacs (to name two much-touted singers who seem to have a similar ability to enchant). But Parrenin has her own style, her music has its own deeply ethereal quality, and the album itself has its own magic spell to cast that renders comparison with other albums unimportant in the end. Magnificent… we say. Now, on to the presentation—the highest quality mastering and pressing (done at Acoustech Mastering/RTI in California, the same people who master and press every title that audiophile label Classic Records makes); the resulting LP is housed in a poly-lined sleeve, inside an ultra-heavy 1960's style gatefold jacket, which is housed in a loose-fitting plastic sleeve. SANDHY & MANDHY- PARA CASTUKIS LP (lion productions, usa)
24.98usd/17.36gbp/19.64eur/2341jpy (approx)

*Here at last is a chance to discover why people have been willing to pay a very steep price to hear Sandhy & Mandhy, the duo who were not a duo, the band who were not a band, creators of perhaps the rarest and most expensive album from Argentina. To tell the story of Sandhy & Mandhy, we have to go back to 1967, when Alberto Infusino (Sandhy) and Alberto Vanasco (Mandhy) began their musical partnership in the beat band The New Free Men. Like many bands of that time, Los Shaker’s and Los Walkers, for example, the New Free Men played covers of songs by the Zombies, Animals, Kinks, Yardbirds, Doors, and so on, in clubs and at parties. Yet at the same time, Infusino and Vanasco started to play their own compositions, with a national touch to the music. Let’s let Vanasco (Mandhy) take up the story: “In 1969, we went to talk with Billy Bond, chief of ‘La Pesada del Rock Roll,’ to ask about the chance to make an album. Bond said that he was not looking for a band, but for a duo who sang songs in Spanish... So, we called some friends to play together, and we called the project Sandhy & Mandhy.” They recorded the album in three hours, with a full band (Farfisa organ, congas, drums, bass, and guitars)—one take of each song. Instead of a demo, they decided to press an LP: the company (Phonalex) pressed 110 LPs in total, which the band gave out at gigs. Sandhy & Mandhy were one of the first bands in South America bring a rebellious attitude to the music scene—all this in a period of military repression, when forced haircuts in the streets were a common occurrence. Although they broke new ground, success was not their fate. And so thirty-eight years after the burst of improvisation that was Sandhy & Mandhy, the rest of the world can finally take a taste of their dark, groovy, beat-influenced psychedelia (that fuzz guitar on the excellent ‘Lluvia’!). At times introspective and acoustic, at others manic and ramshackle in the best way, it’s quite a discovery. Inside the sleeve, you will find an insert with full details on Sandhy & Mandhy, including lyrics in Spanish and English, printed on 100% recycled paper. The LP labels are replicas of the originals. A top of the line pressing all the way. Limited edition of 800 copies.

INDIE, PUNK AND POST-PUNK

ENDLESS BOOGIE- FOCUS LEVEL 2LP (no quarter, usa)
18.98usd/13.19gbp/14.92eur/1779jpy (approx)

*shop favorite repressed/restocked… Endless Boogie began with no delusions of grandeur. They started off as an “old mans hobby” – just dudes jamming on riffs, locking into grooves, finding that transcendental part of a song and stretching it into eternity. Then they were offered a show. They played more shows. They self-released two very limited 12”s and were called the best kept secret in New York by Paper Magazine. They toured with Dungen and Circle and were invited by Slint to play All Tomorrows Parties. What more needs to be said? There aren’t many bands with a more appropriately descriptive name. Rather than try and explain it, we’d prefer you just buy the album. It’s 79 minutes long. It’s the perfect soundtrack to the hot summer nights. Hanging out in the basement. Smoking figs in the yard. The vinyl comes with a bonus track and a digital download coupon. Feel it.

FINAL- READING ALL THE RIGHT SIGNALS WRONG LP (no quarter, usa)
12.98usd/9.02gbp/10.20eur/1216jpy (approx)

*Reading All The Right Signals Wrong is a new full-length, and a rare vinyl release for Final (the sub tones complement the format nicely, we must say). The LP is available in a one-time edition of 1,500 and is sure to go fast. A CD release including bonus alternate mixes will follow in the spring. Justin Broadrick has always made music which could one day serve as a soundtrack to the end of the world, should we ever need one. Whether with Godflesh or Jesu – themes of urban decay, corporate greed and post-modern malaise often set the bleak tone. Final, his longest running project, is no different. Formed in 1982, it has often run parallel to his more recognizable work and served as an undefinable and more experimental outlet.

DOUG PAISLEY- DOUG PAISLEY LP (no quarter, usa)
13.98usd/9.72gbp/10.99eur/1310jpy (approx)

*An album of folk songs that represent the American malaise. Sure, Doug Paisley is Canadian (Toronto, to be exact) but so was Neil Young and four-fifths of The Band, and that didn’t stop them from tapping into the collective psyche of the continent. It would be bold of us to say this debut is on the level of the aforementioned, but truthfully it does recall an era of songwriting that was more simple, more honest, more modest. A time before ipods and myspace, when making a good album was simply enough. Doug Paisley has been seen on tour with Bonnie “Prince” Billy under the pseudo name Dark Hand and Lamplight; a collaboration between himself and artist Shary Boyle. Shary creates live drawings and animates pre-drawn images on an overhead projector. Choreographed to the lyrics and music, she projects her artwork onto a screen, the wall, Doug, and other available surfaces. The way the visuals complement the songs is quite amazing and the shows have been called an encompassing, mesmerizing and tranquil experience. It’s probably one of the coolest things you’ll ever see.

AXEMEN- BIG CHEAP MOTEL LP (siltbreeze, usa)
12.98usd/9.02gbp/10.20eur/1216jpy (approx)

*Siltbreeze joins Sleek Bott Industries for a series of vinyl-only releases from New Zealand's legendary Axemen. (Little) Stevie McCabe, Bob Brannigan and Stu Kawowski have recorded decade's worth of priceless tuneage, some of which, it only seems fair, should finally see the light on a format suited to their chutzpah. The first one out of the gate is the trio's 1983 Big Cheap Motel, their difficult third album, their protest album (following the blistering, insane, and completely live debut Equinox and the studio / live tribute to punk-dub-beer-noise-cubism, Mick's Dancefloor (Mix)). Rarely heard outside the Southern Hemisphere, this montage of rough-and-ready live performances and Peterboro Studio recordings teeters on the precipice of chaotic genius alongside such stalwarts as Alternative TV / Hear & Now's What You See Is What You Are and 1/2 Japanese's Loud. Says McCabe, "Bob and myself went down to check out the Christchurch Botanic Gardens, the scene of the summertime concert-in-the-park series of free outdoor events sponsored by the local council and Big M milk drinks, only to find the park plastered with billboard-sized posters of scantily clad young ladies advertising the sponsor's wares. We immediately scrapped our set list-- which extolled the joy of festivals and praised the council and Big M milk drinks as worthy town governors and milk-based food products, respectively-- and replaced them with a set of 'protest' songs about the travesty, which were performed at the event, to the mild annoyance of the council and the sponsors. Following this brutal coming of age and awakening to the influence and power of advertising, The Axemen swore to use advertising to its full extent in future, but only for good (e.g. promotion of The Axemen), never for evil (anything else)." Not exactly a Crass concert, but, hey, be careful what you wish for. Comes with a reproduction of original insert and original cover design, in a one-time edition of 500.

BEYOND THE IMPLODE- THIS ATMOSPHERE 7”EP (siltbreeze, usa)
12.98usd/9.02gbp/10.20eur/1216jpy (approx)

*Incredulous as it may seem, Siltbreeze is proud to announce the release of a super limited 7" ep from the legendary Beyond The Implode; 4 tracks recorded (at home) by the band in 1979. Tracks 1 & 3 ('This Atmosphere' & 'Steel Car') were originally issued on the band's 1979 debut ep 'Last Thoughts' while tracks 2 & 4 ('Disperse The Clouds' + 'Mid Ad Version') have remained unheard & unreleased lo these many years. Astute fans will no doubt hear 'Mid Ad Version' & perhaps "see" it as an alternate take on 'Midnight Adventures' (found on Last Thoughts) & if so, count yourselves among the lucky ones. This project was sanctioned by BTI head honcho Eddie Smith who also provided the master tape & as such making this 100% legit, i.e., NOT A BOOTLEG. Released in a one time edition of 300 copies.

DER TPK- GAMES FOR SLAVES LP (siltbreeze, usa)
12.98usd/9.02gbp/10.20eur/1216jpy (approx)

*Der TPK liken the sound of their second aural onslaught to "[The battle of] Kursk, second day." Who among us cannot relate to the largest tank battle in history? While the comparison may not be an easy nut to crack, the reference, specifically to the second day, is telling: the wonton destruction that unfolded on that field of battle in an attempt to break the Soviet bulge cannot be overstated. For the Germans, it was unmitigated tragedy. So by comparing Games for Slaves to this particular point in the offensive, Der TPK makes clear that album number two is more brooding and melancholy than Harmful Emotions. Bunker Wolf's menacing lupine-schrei is as formidable as ever, but the band has moved from the blitzkreig, almost hardcore-like pace of their Siltbreeze debut to a more Mancunian post-punk sound (angular guitars, rhythmic dirges), crossed with the luftschutszbunker psychedelia of German Oak (especially on the organ-laden tracks). Edmund Xavier's spidery guitar fills recall similar stylings of a young Bernard Sumner, while the bass/drum propulsion of Boy True and Catholic Pat call to mind the underrated talents of Slight Seconds' Mike Shaw and Peter Hibbert. Getting back to Bunker Wolf, there is no one like him. Maybe if Peter Hind (Mittagspause-era) could still squeak while goose-stepping across the squat in a pair of leather trousers, then we might have some trouble. But that ain't likely. No one does it in 2008 like Teenage Panzerkorps. Games for Slaves is more beauteous gas on an already raging and spectacular fire. Edition of 500 with insert and single-sided, silk-screened, black-and-white cover.

THE LOVE IS SO FAST- THE LOVE IS SO FAST LP (siltbreeze, usa)
12.98usd/9.02gbp/10.20eur/1216jpy (approx)

*Exact details on the origins of The Love Is So Fast are vague; essentially, it was a project created by Danyhell and Estrella (currently in Los Llamarada) intended to flesh out bedroom improvisations and act as an inner search for a sense of skeletal (pop) structure amid the morass of postmodern rock effluvium. Performed live and recorded in one take, the five hazy, languorous tracks certainly charge the ions with positive, crystalline zip, creating an electron hole that sounds like alien transmissions from a long-ago Mars. Not the band, friend, the planet! Fans of the debut LP by Los Llamarada (S-S Records) will be downright giddy with the Precambrian narco-menace that comes carbonating off The Love Is So Fast's archival recordings. Or, as the band says themselves: "This is the music we dreamed of but couldn't play." Grab the peyote, I think I'm Frida Kahlo.

RATAS DEL VATICANO- MOCOSOS PATETICOS LP (siltbreeze, usa)
12.98usd/9.02gbp/10.20eur/1216jpy (approx)

*Ratas Del Vaticano ("Rats of the Vatican") are a quartet hailing from Monterrey, Mexico, who assail ears with a most excellent assemblage of punk spew that can best be pitched as "KBD-like." Some of the slicker dicks out there will be familiar with Mocosos Pateticos ("Pathetic Kids") already, as it was available for a short time in 2008 as a download on David Serrano's Nene label. But for those unconcerned with being the emperors of ice cream, Siltbreeze put their money where your mouth is and are making this fantastic release available on the much-in-vogue LP format. Originally formed as a drunken joke (where have you heard that one before?), Ratas Del Vaticano quickly realized they were onto something. With the addition of Violeta on bass (fresh from a quick stint as second guitarist for Los Llamarada), the band felt solidified enough to cut some tracks. And, man, can these guys slice 'n' dice! Guttural, sneering, cynical, sarcastic, Ratas Del Vaticano dish it out in buckets like rancid pozole. Tack on the crude, fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants recording quality, and you've got a monster to rival the likes of Sods, Mentally Ill, Guilty Razors, Sperma, or Tampax in the pantheon of Killed By Death's greatest scuzz gladiators. Pressed in an edition of 700; look for Ratas Del Vaticano to play the Siltbreeze showcase at the 2009 SXSW in Austin, and maybe even a US tour later in the year.

U.S. GIRLS- INTRODUCING... LP (siltbreeze, usa)
12.98usd/9.02gbp/10.20eur/1216jpy (approx)

*restocked… If the alluring moniker used by Megan Uremovich conjures images of volleyball teams or cheerleading squads, forget it. Not that there's any doubt that Uremovich--sorry, U.S. Girls-- couldn't rise and conquer either challenge. Like fellow DIY ingenues Sally Strobelight and Inca Ore, U.S. Girls' approach is deceptively ethereal and delightfully haunting; lithe, lysergic gamma rays of keyboard murk beamed over percussive bonk sort of resemble Diamanda Galas reinterpreting Suicide's Red Star. And dig that cover of Bruce Springsteen's "Prove It All Night," done in such an effortless, barbital lush you'd swear the air was filled with mescaline. Guess what? It's not.

MOUNTAINS- SEWN CD (apestaartje, usa)
14.98usd/10.41gbp/11.78eur/1404jpy (approx)

*Apestaartje co-founders Brendon Anderegg and Koen Holtkamp follow up their critically acclaimed self titled debut as 'Mountains' with this second offering of slowly evolving sound. Recorded over several lengthy excursions outside the confines of the city in upstate New York and Connecticut, 'Sewn' invokes a sense of ease and delicate precision. A beautiful combination of clean crisp texture and warm pulsating harmony that shows a group developing and expanding their sound with an extreme attention to detail that reflects new layers in each melody and texture. Eight tracks that combine acoustic instrumentation (guitar, piano, accordion, harmonica etc..), binaural field recordings and resonant electronic processing to create a wide range of electro-acoustic experience. From the folkish acoustic guitar of 'sewn two' and 'bay' to the densely layered organic din of 'hundred acre' and the psychedelic minimalism of 'sheets', 'Sewn' shows a group as equally invested in melody as it is in experimentation.

MOUNTAINS- MOUNTAINS CD (apestaartje, usa)
14.98usd/10.41gbp/11.78eur/1404jpy (approx)

*Mountains is an ongoing collaboration between Apestaartje cofounders Brendon Anderegg and Koen Holtkamp. Having worked in parallel and often overlapping contexts within their respective solo projects (Aero & Anderegg), 'Mountains' was initially created as an outlet for live performance. After numerous performances they decided it was time to document the experience and this their debut album was born. Four lengthy pieces composed around acoustic instrumentation and field recordings gradually blend with subtle electronics and live sampling to create an extremely dynamic and detailed listening experience that ranges from quiet crackling to dense layers of harmonic texture. Psychedelia, Americana and classical Minimalism are just a few of the genres referenced in this epic suite of resonant frequencies.

MOUNTAINS- CHORAL LP (thrill jockey, usa)

MOUNTAINS- CHORAL CD (thrill jockey, usa)
14.98usd/10.41gbp/11.78eur/1404jpy (approx)

*Mountains is Brendon Anderegg and Koen Holtkamp, friends since their middle school days. The duo were brought together by mutual artistic and musical interests, and both ended up at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. It was during this time that they began exchanging musical ideas and compositions which led to them founding the Apestaartje label in 1999. As their collaborations and individual projects blossomed, they decided to create Mountains as a vehicle for live performance. A love of sculpting sound in front of an audience is at the heart of Mountains. The group’s third album, Choral, (their first self-titled release and second album Sewn were both on Apestaartje), is the culmination of their work to date and a balanced mix of the first two efforts. Mountains is often compared to artists such as Brian Eno and Fennesz citing their extended melodies and their unique broad guitar work. Mountains seamlessly blend pastoral electronic sounds with both field recordings and a plethora of acoustic instruments. The resulting soundscapes are broad in scope and rich in detail. The effect is incredibly sublime and hypnotic as the sounds slowly wrap themselves around each other and alter themselves in the mind of the listener. Choral is a uniquely soothing and addicting listening experience and an aural crazy quilt: warm and inviting with many details to discover and explore. Recorded by the duo entirely in the winter and spring of 2008 at home in Brooklyn, Choral is largely live and performed in real time, with only a few overdubs to create a more “choral” effect. The opening title-track carries the weight of a full orchestra gradually drawing their bows across a field of strings. The subtle undulations produce a warm blank canvas and create an impending sense of what’s to come. As the percolating electronic melodies creep into the track, they’re soon joined by field recordings, organ, electric piano, synthesizer, accordion and then later by the gentle strum of a guitar. This densely layered and textured song contains over 30 tracks of material. On the quiet and more guitar oriented “Map Table”, the band ‘play’ ice water and books by recording the sounds of them flipping through the pages. The calming “Telescope” actually features the sound of an intense thunderstorm recorded in the desert in Arizona. Guiding us through sonic peaks and valleys, the band takes us on a journey through their realm of experimentation, occasionally crossing over into psychedelic and kosmiche (Harmonia, Cluster, Popol Vuh) territory. Choral is the sound of an adventuresome duo, who is equally invested in melody and discovery.

TOWN AND COUNTRY- 5 LP (thrill jockey, usa)
9.98usd/6.94gbp/7.84eur/935jpy (approx)

*The fifth record by Chicago's Town and Country is the aptly titled 5, and while it goes so far as to include a homage to the city's more famous self-titled band's artwork the comparisons stop there. Like many of the innovators who have carved out sub-genre's in music over the last few years (IDM and Post-Rock quickly spring to mind), Town and Country along with bands like Threnody Ensemble and The Rachel's have carved out a niche based around classical and modern classical composition. The members of Town and Country met through participation in a series of weekly improv sessions that included like minded musicians Jim O'Rourke, Kevin Drumm and Ken Vandermark to name a few. The band's debut was released on the experimental label, BOXMedia and the band began to play out at both conventional rock clubs, and in galleries and theaters which lent themselves to acoustic and classical music. Subsequently the band has released two more full lengths plus an EP and toured the states and Europe, alternating between the modern composition and indie-rock worlds, all the while broadening their audience.Their newest record, 5, continues this ongoing evolution and further extends the language they have been working on for the last six years. All of the pieces on 5 were composed prior to recording, though some entered the studio in a more complete form than others. All selections are entirely acoustic, and experimentation continues to be employed in most Town and Country compositions. There are two types of songs on 5. The first being the concise simple chamber pieces ("Aubergene", "Old Fashioned"), and the second being more sprawling trance pieces ("Sleeping in the Midday Sun", "Shirtless"). The recording process is simply four people in a room with acoustic instruments - no studio tricks, gimmicks, computers or samples in fact no amplification at all. The band pride themselves in the ideas put forth creating music of this nature. As music continues to be categorized and fracture into genre's, Town and Country continue at their own pace hoping to put a face on "post-classical-chamb er-rock" or whatever the NY Times decides to call it.

TOWN AND COUNTRY- IT ALL HAS TO DO WITH IT LP (thrill jockey, usa)
9.98usd/6.94gbp/7.84eur/935jpy (approx)

*It All Has To Do With It., the third release from Town and Country and their second on Thrill Jockey, follows last Spring's Decoration Day EP. This full-length is the group's most accessible and succinct statement to date. With two string basses, acoustic guitar, and portable acoustic keyboards (harmonium, celeste, accordian) as its basic instrumentation, Town and Country don't just strip down to the drum/bass/guitar logic of rock, they totally sidestep it. In the studio the standard rock method of recording basic rhythm tracks followed by adding overdubs does not work as well for a band without a rhythm section. Accordingly, the group took a year to compose and arrange the songs on this record and three days to record and mix. The finger-picked-guitar-with-drones approach of the first CD has evolved into a more dynamic, group-composed ensemble playing where no particular instrument carries the water and parts are through composed rather than looped. The first three cuts stand as a honing of the craft of the first two CD's, but in the final 15 minute piece That Old Feeling, layers of interlocking grooves reveal a whole new direction that could almost be described as acoustic techno. Influences are Morton Feldman, John Fahey, Don Cherry, Franco Batiato, Gavia Bryars and Sonny Sharrock. Town and Country features Liz Payne on contrabass, celeste, piano, acoustic guitar, and bells, Josh Abrams on contrabass, celeste, mbira, snare drum, and vibes, Jim Dorling on harmonium, celeste and bells, and Ben Vida on guitar, accordian, trumpet, and bells and everyone on bowed bowls. The four met on Chicago's Wicker Park improvised music scene and began playing as a group in January 1997. Josh Abrams has been playing professionally in Chicago since 1994. He is a member of the Sam Prekop band and the David Boykin Outet, has recorded with Bobby Conn, David Grubbs, Loren Mazzacane Conners, the Spinanes, Tortoise and the Roots. He was a member of Rob Mazurek's Chicago Underground Orchestra and led a trio with veteran Chicago musicians Robert Barry and Ron Dewar. Liz Payne and Ben Vida have made two records and toured extensively as half of the improvised group Pillow with Fred Lonberg-Holm and Mike Colligan. Ben Vida recently released his debut solo record Mpls. on BoxMedia. He has performed a composition by Werner Dafeldecker with Sainkho Namtchylak, Christof Kurzmann and members of Polwechseland and he and his brother sing in the band, Central Falls. Liz plays in a trio with Ken Vandermark. Jim Dorling helped form the free improvisational group Etaoin Shrdlu in 1989. Members of Town and Country have improvised with Kevin Drumm, Axel Dorner, Jim O'Rourke, Fred Anderson, Mats Gustafsson, Milo Fine, Donald Garret, Guillermo Gregorio and many others.

TUFF CREW- DJ TOO TUFF'S LOST ARCHIVES CD (traffic entertainment group, usa)
9.98usd/6.94gbp/7.84eur/935jpy (approx)

*Tuff Crew is known throughout the world as Philly's first Rap super group. They've toured extensively with some of the biggest names in Rap music such as Public Enemy, Run-DMC, Biz Markie, Big Daddy Kane, Rob Base and LL Cool J. The response to Tuff Crew's music has been nothing short of stellar. On a national level, their single "My Parta Town" peaked at #23 on the Billboard Rap charts, while their album Back to Wreck Shop reached #74 on the Billboard R&B album charts. Estimates of Tuff Crew's global sales are in excess of three million units. Tuff Crew's body of work has resulted in a dedicated legion of fans across the world and their DJ Too Tuff has been the recipient of various accolades throughout his career. DJ Z-Trip advised that the technique of DJ Too Tuff inspired him to be a scratch DJ. Three time global DMC scratch champion DJ Q-Bert also notes Too Tuff as one of his inspirations. And A-Trak, Kanye West's DJ, has also voiced his adoration of the turntable techniques of DJ Too Tuff. Although Tuff Crew made an incredible mark on the musical landscape, they unfortunately fell victim to bad management and infighting. It was during this time period that DJ Too Tuff, the man behind legendary Tuff Crew sound, gathered the finest of Philly's underground MC's and began work on a solo project. The new Tuff Crew album, containing the finest of DJ Too Tuff's solo work, is entitled DJ Too Tuff's Lost Archives. On October 21st, 2008, Tuff Crew Productions and Traffic Entertainment Group are pleased to present these recordings to the public for the first time ever.
In support of the album, DJ Too Tuff has extensive radio appearances all across the country. Large music magainzes have also taken a strong interest in covering the album. DJ Too Tuff's Lost Archives will be highly sought after, and is destined to become an instant collector's item. For fans of of Eric B and Rakim, Public Enemy, Ultramagnetic MC's, Run DMC and Wu-Tang Clan, this record is not to be missed.

DUBSTEP AND FUTURE DUB

VON D FEAT. ZHAKEE- BON/SO MANY FACES 12” (argon, uk)
12.98usd/9.02gbp/10.20eur/1216jpy (approx)

*Finish copy promo… Hailing from the suburbs of Paris, Von D's soul soaked sound is an expression of his multi-cultural roots. 'Bon' is a breezy cocktail of soothing pads, crunchy garage rhythms and the angelic tones of French soul sensation Zhakee. On the flip 'So Many Faces' takes proceedings a stage deeper exposing his junglist roots with galloping drums, ethereal strings and a contrasting fuzzy bass. 'Bon' is supported by Joe Nice, Beezy And Bunzero and 'So Many Faces' is supported by Headhunter.

EMALKAY- EXPLICIT/HEROICS 12” (dub police, uk)
12.98usd/9.02gbp/10.20eur/1216jpy (approx)

*Finish copy promo… Emalkay steps up for his debut release for the Dub Police with two tracks that will leave you pleading for mercy. The first of which has been gaining some serious support from Caspa, Benga, N-Type & The Scratch Perverts to name a few and its not hard to see why! Few words can describe the absolute devastation this tune causes to any dance floor across the globe right now with its squelching bassline and tuff beats, not to mention the infectious vocal hook that will have you singing for days: 'I beat mutha fuckers' -- sick stuff! 'Heroics': On the flip the pace doesn't show any signs of slowing down with this monster of a tune, again gaining massive support from the cream of the scene. Pounding beats, dirty, warping bass and dangerous synths all go in the cooking pot to produce one massive track -- this one is a proper ruffneck riddem and just the tip of the iceberg from Birmingham's finest.

KROMESTAR FEAT. F-ONE- FEVER/CRACK 12” (dubstar, uk)
11.98usd/8.33gbp/9.42eur/1122jpy (approx)

*It's sometimes too easy to be harsh on Kromestar and his buddy F-One when they have such a high work rate turning out identikit riddims, but when they come up with beauties like this it's all forgiven. 'Crackpipe' comes in the same lineage as D1's seminal 'Crack Bong', referencing the very hard stuff not out of respect we'd imagine (kids, don't do it!) but more for the connotations of extremity and effect. It's a brutal joint, featuring the pair tucking into a filth coated wriggler with a burrowing synthline feeding back and into itself with a fierce rimshot lead shift to shunt it in the right direction. Heady stuff. If 'Crack Pipe' is the hit, 'Mad fever' is the succeeding after effects with a disorientating reeler truly fitting the 'Mongrel Music' tag applied by Skream to cover the swathes of Wonky electronical gear like this coming from the likes of Ikonika, Zomby and co. Deranged wildout tracks for the party crew.

FANTASTIC MR FOX & RICH REASON- PLIMSOUL/BLEEP SHOW 12” (hemlock, uk)
12.98usd/9.02gbp/10.20eur/1216jpy (approx)

*Very Very limited white label promo. Following his brilliantly odd and celebrated remix of Untold’s “Yukon”, Fantastic Mr Fox returns to Hemlock – along with Rich Reason – for their debut artist 12”. Pitching up their hip hop roots to dubstep tempo, the duo present two uniquely soulful, broken, synth & sub work-outs. a. FMF & Rich Reason – Plimsoul Essential listening for those who like a little light amongst the darkness. Glitchy, broken, house beats,an instantly hummable bassline and unrestrained synth melodies collide with abstracted vocals and layered strings to create a piece of pure musical mischief with a heavy dose of soul.aa. FMF & Rich Reason – Bleep Show Coming on like a drunk Timbaland, Bleep Show lures you into a false sense of security with it’s heavy, headnod beats and bass work-out, before suddenlyexploding into a huge, out-of-control arpeggio, filtered strings and trumpet stabs, that build and build into an electro inspired 808 freak-out with more than a few surprises up it’s (rolled up) sleeves.

JAKES VS. JOKER- 3KLANE 12” (hench, uk)
12.98usd/9.02gbp/10.20eur/1216jpy (approx)

*Continuing his cross-scene pollination Jakes hits us with the fourth installment of the Hench saga. Considered to be the daddy of the Bristolian dubstep scene, he gets big stinkin' nasty with this one. Turn it up! This joint release between Hench and Plastician's Terrorhythm label brings together two previously released heavyweight tracks, namely '3kout' by Jakes and 'Gullybrook Lane' by Joker, to create a killer VIP hybrid track '3klane' : Introing with the trademark Sega soundtrack of Joker we're then treated to the dirty drop of Jakes' mid-range jelly bass to get your rudeboy skank firmly on to. A party favourite, you need this! Flip over and Jakes goes solo on 'Modem,' a firing excursion of gnarly bass surges and indeed modem samples scattered throughout. Watch out for the sub on this one, it'll make your face wince! Healthy dollops of FX and a constantly evolving b-line make this the perfect end to a filthy 12". Big support from N-Type, Hatcha, Scratch Perverts, Youngsta, Pinch, Peverelist, Headhunter amongst others.

BOXCUTTER & KINNEGO FLUX- A FAMILIAR SOUND 12” (kinnego, uk)

*Boxcutter’s work, due to its bass-led and rhythmically 2-step nature, is often categorised as dubstep, although in style and idiosyncracies has more in common with IDM artists such as Squarepusher and μ-Ziq. Together with Kinnego Flux the Belfast based band/ensemble.Funk and soul music with electronics Using instruments, vocals, computers and hardware synths and modules. A Familiar Sound flows seamlessly with stabs of sound rolling over each other without ever quite meeting. It's totally unique, and has been blowing minds after it was first heard on Scuba's Electronic Explorations mix. This track is so creative. Props to Boxcutter for fusing smooth RnB with a deep and dark drop that takes the tune right into the unexpected.

ELEMENTAL- PISTON 12” (runtime, uk)
12.98usd/9.02gbp/10.20eur/1216jpy (approx)

*Finish Copy promo... Here's a trio of fresh tasty beats to get you in the mood. Elemental's forthcoming longplayer. 'Muff Beater' is more minimal than his usual fare, hollow woodblock percussion and tight drum flourishes gathering pace until the bubble bass drops on this funky little bouncer. 'Piston' is harder by comparison, starting off with a tense sub workout that morphs into a staggering breaky roller with grinding bass layered underneath the whining mids. 'Strange Brew', a collaboration with Lohan of Search and Destroy finishes up, slow-mo drums sliding over tubular subs, throwback rave stabs and mouthwatering citrus synths.

11.98usd/8.33gbp/9.42eur/1122jpy (approx)

*Soul Jazz Records are pleased to introduce to you, Kutz! Some of you may not be familiar with the sound of fresh new talent, but Kutz -- hailing from Croydon aka the dubstep mecca!! -- has been a busy bee deep in the studio producing tunes for some years now, some of which have been co-produced alongside his buddies Skream and Benga. Kutz' track 'Twilight Zone' featured on Skream's latest mix CD, Watch The Ride! became one of the highlights of the mix and Kutz recently guested on Skream's infamous radio show The Stella Sessions on Rinse FM to roaring success. Kutz also co-produced the 'Ill Kut Ya' with Benga, which has been blowing up dances on the underground dubstep scene for some time now and appears on Benga's latest offering for Tempa.

KUTZ- TRAVELLING/STATIC 12” (soul jazz, uk)
11.98usd/8.33gbp/9.42eur/1122jpy (approx)

*This is the second of two 12"s from Kutz on Soul Jazz Records. 'Travelling' is a massive party banger with a heavy rolling hypnotic bassline. This bad bwoy will be rolling through your mind all day-catchy as hell! But wait! Don't forget the B side -- 'Static' is not one to be overlooked -- massive shuddering bass bin trembler!

Bunker starts off light and all esoteric.. creating an eerie vibe thats just so DJG. when you hear the dubwise pressure you know its on! one of the finest DJG tunes around! The flip holds another peak in DJG production skills. this one is called Apophenia.. a deep 2 steppin tune that keeps on building building and building till it stops at the epic breakdown.. This one may not be as experimental as the rest of the selection but we feel this is another sure shot tube10 release ready to get bagged on sight!

TORQUX/16 BIT- RELENTLESS: 16 BIT REMIX 12” (wicky lindows, uk)
11.98usd/8.33gbp/9.42eur/1122jpy (approx)

*Grievous bodily wounders from new imprint Wicky Lindows unleashing two snarling dubstep rave variations from Torqux and 16Bit. Obviously influenced by the sound of Emalkay, Caspa & Rusko and all those other unruly dubstep ravers, it's clearly apparant that Torqux likes a good brukkout on 'Relentless', with tongue-in-cheek folksy string orchestrations subsiding to reveal the pits of dubstep hell with blaring rave riffage and crushing halfstep rhythm constructions. 16Bit's remix on the flip again proves the guys to be at the top of their game with severely maximised production knowledge piled into crafting a fractally shifting monster beat for dancefloor animals to let loose to. Try and hold 'em back when this one drops!

HOUSE, TECHNO AND DISCO

12.98usd/9.02gbp/10.20eur/1216jpy (approx)

*The third chapter of the most famous of Alex Under's series, Multiplicanciones, is finally here. Alex takes his sound to a new level with this record, exploring his deep techno obsessions. 'E' is powerful, an amazing peak-time dancefloor killer; on the other side, 'F1' is a mellow and emotional track that takes the listener on a hypnotic journey, while 'F2' hits the clubber's chest with a pounding groove that will delight techno gourmets. Again, state of the art electronic dance music from Alex Under!

SHLOMI ABER- NAMGO 12” (beasone, isreal)
13.98usd/9.72gbp/10.99eur/1310jpy (approx)

*With his 4th release on his own imprint, Shlomi Aber this time takes a slightly housier road, mixing once again different elements from both the techno and house worlds. Something that Be As One has made one of its strong point when delivering the goods. With 'Namgo' on the A and 'Black Title' on the B, expect techno meets house on both fronts, smartly mixed with etchnic flavoured chants, tribal-influenced rhythms and the usual Shlomi Aber productions quality and his imprint.

13.98usd/9.72gbp/10.99eur/1310jpy (approx)

GUY GERBER- TIMING 12” (cocoon, germany)
13.98usd/9.72gbp/10.99eur/1310jpy (approx)

*With his new Maxi on Cocoon Recordings, Guy Gerber, our man for the big emotional moments on the dancefloor, will make our eyes shine bright in Christmas anticipation. After releases for his own label Supplement Facts, the club hits "Sea Of Sand", "Belly Dancing" and not to forget, his album debut "Late Bloomers", the Tel-Aviv-based Gerber could be found rightly in top positions in many newcomer listings in the past year. 2008 was a little more calm for him, but with "Timing", being just in time for the final, he again sets new standards in linking harmony with a hedonistic state of emergency. While "Timing" pleases us like a nocturnal-hypnotic romance in between a disco bass line, "Age of Love" flair and winterly sleigh bells, "Guilty Pleasures" takes back this playful love of details to the benefit of a tropical-dense percussive dub, however without appearing less mandatory on the dancefloor. Consequently, Gerber will be playing together with Sven Väth at Christmas Eve in the CocoonClub Frankfurt.

OBLIO- PRINCIPAL OF DISCOVERY 12” (codek, usa/switzerland)
13.98usd/9.72gbp/10.99eur/1310jpy (approx)

*Oblio's smooth sound and spacious pads fit perfect in to the "so called" balearic vibe. if you're not in a rush and have a moment to listen you will enjoy the typical Oblio melodies and chord progressions. like all Oblio songs there is lot's of synth and arpeggios and no samples.

IN FLAGRANTI/EULER/BRUNO CRIED- CODEK RECORDS PRESENTS SOUNDS SUPERB VOL. 4 12” (codek, usa/switzerland)
13.98usd/9.72gbp/10.99eur/1310jpy (approx)

*The 4th installment of the Sounds Superb series explores further the possibilities of randomness. This time it's a bit more on the Stoner tip. Lot's of editing and messing with the turntable pitch control to generate the depth and exitment we love so much when sampling. we liked it so much that we had to include 20 min. short radio mix of "conservation of momentum".

RUDE 66- SADISTIC TENDENCIES 2X12” (crème, netherlands)
25.98usd/18.06gbp/20.42eur/2435jpy (approx)

*After a wait of 15 years and numerous 12''es, Ep's, random compilation tracks and remixes Rude 66 has finally finished a full length album and dare we say it's his most cohesive work to date? Sadistic Tendencies begins where 2005's Three Faces of Fear EP ended, with 18 tracks that slide like snails on the edge of straight razors, exploring the dark side of the human condition. Thematically connected, deep, dark and mind bendingly analogue, Sadistic Tendencies is both tense and full of release, sometimes brooding and encroaching at other times exploding into throbbing Synth laden Dance Floor Bombs. Superlatives aside, Sadistic Tendencies works exceptionally well as an album and is one of those rare 70 minute journey's that can be enjoyed from beginning to end – like a good horror movie that scares the hell out of you, but keeps drawing you in.

POLYGAMY BOYS- BLACK FLOWER 12” (crème eclipse, netherlands)
13.98usd/9.72gbp/10.99eur/1310jpy (approx)

*Germany’s darkest and most paranoid tinfoil hat brigade is back! Black Flower is a menacing blend of Disco, Techno and EBM, forged in a lead tank in the recesses of the Black Empire. Made for pleasure nor for pain, but as a secretly coded tactic to systematically erode the mind-control set up by the Shadow Government. Infiltration is made easier because of it’s highly DJ friendly nature and capable of blowing the roof off any peak time dance floor. Limited to 500 copies, after that you’re on your own!

JOEY BELTRAM- THE SCORPION 12” (drumcode, sweden)
11.98usd/8.33gbp/9.42eur/1122jpy (approx)

*Adam Beyer's now legendary imprint has reached its landmark 50th release. To commemorate this Adam has pulled in a spectacular 2 track releases from one of the pioneers of he genre - Joey Beltram. Joey should need absolutely no introduction and here for the A side has produced a rave hammer in the form of Scorpion with its twisting metallic riff and immense intenstity. The flipside track - striking distance is a perfect compliment with its subtle, building undertones easily at home at somewhere like Cocoon at Amnesia in Ibiza. This is an absolute bomb. Do not miss out.

13.98usd/9.72gbp/10.99eur/1310jpy (approx)

*The Great Stuff Roots Edition presents another groundbreaking classic with amazing new remixes: The timeless “Tessio” from Finnish producer Sasu Ripatti aka Luomo, originally released on Force Tracks. Since wonderboy Luomo already bewitched world-wide audiences with four full-length albums as well as his critically acclaimed live performances since the early 2000 it’s time to breathe new life into this outstanding deephouse classic from 2001. And one of the most appropriate remixers these days certainly is Stimming, known for his amazing organic house productions on Buzzin Fly, Diynamic, Freerange, Liebe Detail. With his musical sense for harmonies and vocals in combination with his driving beats he proved this choice was more than right. To rock the techno floors the same way Great Stuff asked the duo Spektre for their treatment. Paul Maddox and Filthy Rich from Leeds did what they had to do and turned it straight into a 2009 peaktime techno bullet. Last but not least the original diamond itself, properly remastered by Martin Eyerer, a 12 minutes journey into the most beautiful deephouse.

MIDNIGHT JUGGERNAUTS- INTO THE GALAXY 12” (institubes, france)
13.98usd/9.72gbp/10.99eur/1310jpy (approx)

*A juggernaut is described as an unstoppable force that will crush all in its path. Minus the “crushing” part, the last six months have been non-stop for Australia’s Midnight Juggernauts, who having recently released their acclaimed debut album Dystopia, are now releasing the second single from their LP as they continue to tour the world playing this summer's finest festivals. Already a firm live favourite, ‘Into The Galaxy’ is a shimmering constellation of a track, characterised by the Juggernauts’ rolling synths, thundering drums and future-Bowie vocals.
And the remixes are nothing but dazzling. UK’s finest pop trio Metronomy delivers a stripped down reimagining of the track, moving and disarmingly elegant. French producer Danger delivers a too-cool-for-school, hardcore-gamer mix, the aural equivalent of a hyperspeed powergloved romp through a deadly wireframe maze, at boss level. Chateau Marmont are a Parisian quartet dedicated to make things all better. When I say "things", I mean life, obviously. It's only normal, then, that this remix is mandatory listening for fractured families, PMSing social workers, shell-shocked army troopers and waterboarded undercover operatives the world over. It's a universal translation of "All Will Be Well". Look out for their debut EP on Institubes this fall. All in all, perfect companion pieces to a perfect track.

AUTOKRATZ- 1000 THINGS/LAST SHOW 12” (kitsune, france)
13.98usd/9.72gbp/10.99eur/1310jpy (approx)

The A side, 1000 Things, is a driving, impassioned and relentless electro machine, whilst the reverse is taken up by the melodic electro-pop anthem Last Show which echo’s New Order and Cut Copy.

AUTOKRATZ- REAKTOR/IT'S ON 12” (kitsune, france)
13.98usd/9.72gbp/10.99eur/1310jpy (approx)

*David and Russell are a London based electronic duo in there twenties. Having met through mutual friends, their love of the same music led to the conception of autoKratz. There inspirations are evident in flashes of Kraftwerk, Daft Punk and Underworld, but autoKratz pride themselves on creating something unique. Their debut release, 'ReaKtor' is an electro monster dominated by a vigorous hook with added glitches, bleeps and pulsating melodies. David autoKratz describes the track as being inspired by the films '12 Monkeys' and 'La Jetée': "It's a song that creates a vivid picture in your mind, of panic and confusion," Russell adds "and creating imagery is what autoKratz is about, making you think. And dance". •The other side of the record is taken up by the Daft Punk-esque bleepy stomper 'It's On', with a compulsive vocal hook over a fat glitch funk backbeat that typifies the fullness of the AutoKratz sound. And now that AutoKratz have signed to Kitsuné for their debut album, it looks like this could be the start of something special.

BENI- MY LOVE SEES YOU 12” (kitsune, france)
13.98usd/9.72gbp/10.99eur/1310jpy (approx)

*shop favorite restocked… Beni is one half the electro duet Riot in Belgium who gained a worldwide reputation with their dancefloor anthems "My Love Sees You" is Beni's latest dancefloor panther, a menacing builder of a jam, complete with epic stuttering breakdown, and cooing female vocal sample. The kind of tune equally at home in da club, the cafe or the Caribbean. It's a club staple from tomorrow onwards, and if the forecast is anything to go by, so is Beni. In Flagranti gives to the track a groovy and what we cannot describe otherwise than an inflagranti-esque touch while Etienne de Crecy brings his straight forward dancefloor-killing excellency!

BIG FACE- I WANNA BE A STYLE CRUSADER 12” (kitsune, france)
13.98usd/9.72gbp/10.99eur/1310jpy (approx)

From Paradise Grage dub vibe to a guitar hero noisy and tough remix by the youg parisian. As Bibabidi music blog said it’s “really refreshing to hear something dancey that's not as abrasive as walking on shattered glass or as hyper-active as a caffeinated four year-old.” New Wave from Scotland via NYC and Paris.

CAZELS- SOMEBODY SOMEWHERE 12” (kitsune, france)
13.98usd/9.72gbp/10.99eur/1310jpy (approx)

*Somebody Somewhere is the cracking new single from hotly tipped indie heroes Cazals. With it's strutting guitars, and angular attitudeit's a massive hit in the making and a bonafied top-down Summer anthem. Just check out the huge pogo-inducing chorus and you will understand exactly what we mean. The single is set for release as a 7" and 12" on May 5th (Kitsune). The 7" will also feature the chiming guitars of new track Success, whilst the 12" comes complete with some electronic madness in the form of remixes from Moulinex, Lifelike and Blamma! Blamma! The new release will be followed by their debut album "What Of Our Future" out in May, and comes off the back of a series of excellent live shows that has seen the band really prove their mettle as a formidable live act. Rolling out their brand of guitar and synth indie-rock across the UK for their two week headline tour in March, a Levis" Ones To Watch" tour, supporting Daft Punk in Japan, and literally blowing the roof off The Scala at a recent gig alongside Midnight Juggernauts & Ebony Bones. NME described their recent live shows as "Amazing and streets ahead of their peers", whilst Big Issue simply as "One of the most exciting British bands around". Hailing from the four corners of England, Cazals have built their reputation from the ground up. Both manager and producer of the band are members of Cazals;, guitarist and bass player to be precise. So convinced were Kitsune on first hearing them that they promptly put the band in a Parisian studio with Julien Delfaud (the man who engineered the Phoenix album) and the results have been dynamic. Somebody, Somewhere is an immediate, utterly infectious song that comes laden with enough dancefloor energy to move any dancefloor, and we definitely think you will be hearing a lot of it over the coming months.

Compliment that with some of the most cutting edge electronic dance and alternative and the result is something exciting and very refreshing. The genre breaking sound is causing quite a stir at the “ Streetlife Sessions “ room at Together London night. Gunn Crime is a from the “Theme of Peter Gunn” composed by Henry Mancini popularized in the 80’s with The Art of Noise feat Duane Eddy hit. Their interpretation is a huge dancefloor anthem which takes the amiably sloppy original theme and tightens it up, tweaking the tempo to suitably dancefloor-friendly proportions and throwing in a few choice edits to yield optimum results. The release features a groovy disco dub and a soundsystem mix by the Streetlife Djs themselves.

DAVID E. SUGAR- TO YOURSELF/THE BIG H 12” (kitsune, france)
13.98usd/9.72gbp/10.99eur/1310jpy (approx)

*David E Sugar, multi- instrumentalist troubadour and 8-Bit electronic wonder teams up with Kitsuné for a single and shows two sides of his gifts with a song-writing gem and a dancefloor vitalizer. The single on Kitsuné is full of fresh creative energy coming from one of the most intensely prolific producers in the London scene. ‘To Yourself ‘ and ‘The Big` show how eclectic Sugar’s influences are : “ I’m into Aphex Twin as well as Talking Heads, Jeff Buckley and Tom Waits “; he says. ‘To Yourself’ a chic song tailored by a dance child and gifted voice, the production can do no wrong with those slighty growing breaks and chip solos (sic) ‘The Big H’ is the dance track as imagined by a punk philosopher, “ being innovative and creative but doing it on your own’ says Sugar. A stressed atmosphere with handclaps too ! A compressed bass and the dancefloor is entering a new time capsule through David’s opened door. ‘ The Future is lookin particularly sweet for this 8-bit electronic wonder ‘ Terence The – Dazed &Confused

MATIAS AGUAYO- WALTER NEFF 12” (kompakt, germany)
12.98usd/9.02gbp/10.20eur/1216jpy (approx)

*Three killers, no fillers - Aguayo's new masterpiece. Definitely too sexy for your shirt.... Walter Neff: You'll be here too? Phyllis: I guess so, I usually am. Walter Neff: Same chair, same perfume, same anklet? Phyllis: I wonder if I know what you mean. Walter Neff: I wonder if you wonder. [last lines] Walter Neff: Know why you couldn't figure this one, Keyes? I'll tell ya. 'Cause the guy you were looking for was too close. Right across the desk from ya. Barton Keyes: Closer than that, Walter. Walter Neff: I love you, too. Walter Neff: It's just like the first time I came here, isn't it? We were talking about automobile insurance, only you were thinking about murder. And I was thinking about that anklet. Barton Keyes: Have you made up your mind? Jackson: Mr. Keyes, I'm a Medford man - Medford, Oregon. Up in Medford, we take our time making up our minds. Barton Keyes: Well, we're not in Medford, we're in a hurry. Barton Keyes: They've committed a murder and it's not like taking a trolley ride together where they can get off at different stops. They're stuck with each other and they've got to ride all the way to the end of the line and it's a one-way trip and the last stop is the cemetery. Walter Neff: Do I laugh now, or wait 'til it gets funny? Walter Neff: How could I have known that murder could sometimes smell like honeysuckle? Walter Neff: Suddenly it came over me that everything would go wrong. It sounds crazy, Keyes, but it's true, so help me. I couldn't hear my own footsteps. It was the walk of a dead man. Walter Neff: Yes, I killed him. I killed him for money - and a woman - and I didn't get the money and I didn't get the woman. Pretty, isn't it? Phyllis: I was just fixing some ice tea; would you like a glass? Walter Neff: Yeah, unless you got a bottle of beer that's not working.

DANZCA AKA MAXIME DANGLES & PAUL NAZCA- SPEICHER 63 12” (kompakt, germany)
12.98usd/9.02gbp/10.20eur/1216jpy (approx)

*Speicher returns to form for 2009. Feeling the urge to display a sweetened vulgarity for fully-formed techno -- Kompakt's young starlet Maxime Dangles teams up with Paul Nazca for this monstrous release. "Dark Neptune" is a bass-squelching power-rocker -- thoroughly delivering all peaks and no drifts. "Aquarel" is a more melodic affair, but pulls out all the right punches with a tangible, house-like quality. Definitely a classic approach that meets the Speicher seal of approval.

MINIMONO- STAY AWAY 12” (love letters from oslo, germany)
13.98usd/9.72gbp/10.99eur/1310jpy (approx)

*Minimono delights us once again with two new refreshing tracks. 'Stay Away' is a typical Minimono track, with playful cartoon-like sounds, the aesthetics of minimal and a housy groove. Sounds like fun, huh? In contrast 'El Guapo' could be interpreted as deephouse, but the snappy beats keep your feet moving while the chord-like sounds make you want to close your eyes and just drift away.

RIBN- MINED/BLOSSOM 12” (millions of moments, netherlands)
14.98usd/10.41gbp/11.78eur/1404jpy (approx)

*Manuel Tur and Langenberg (known for his releases on the nice Drum Poet Society label) dropping some delicious tracks on this powerful yellow wax! Deep and slowly building techno tracks that have their roots in the Basic Channel school, but taking things away from the dubby style and bring it back to the club. Dirty morphing synths combined with a warm steady beat create a awesome masculine groove with a lot of tension and a intense and controled energy. Amazing tracks for the club. Techno as it should be! Recommended!!

MINILOGUE- MY TEENAGER GANG 12” (mule electronic, germany)
12.98usd/9.02gbp/10.20eur/1216jpy (approx)

*After the success of their new project Imps, Minilogue return to Mule with two fantastic tracks. "My Teenager Gang" is a bit new-style of them: abstract, percussive house-beat with ethnic voices. It's a perfect tune for spring-time. "Hundraelva" is strong, trippy, hypnotic, minimal-style house. High-quality as always!

PETAR DUNDOV- ESCAPEMENTS 4X12” (music man, belgium)
24.98usd/17.36gbp/19.64eur/2341jpy (approx)

*shop favorite restocked… This is the second full-length release from Croatian DJ/producer Petar Dundov. Dundov is a producer who runs his own Neumatik studio and multimedia company where he works as a sound engineer as well as producing his own take on techno, house and electronica. Escapements is his most accomplished work to date and features beautifully layered techno, hypnotic rhythms and shimmering melodies that make this a real landmark release. The lead single "Oasis" has been remixed by Substance & Vainqueur and follow-up singles will include mixes from Detroit's Echospace, Dub Kult and DFA's Gavin Russom. His last full-length CD release was in 2001, with the ambient album Sculptures 1-3 on Jeff Mills' Tomorrow label that preceded multiple 12" releases on Music Man. Running Man brought attention back to his music and also announced the direction and concept of Escapements. Fusing hypnotic rhythms, bubbling melodies, intricate atmospheres and a soundtrack-like quality, Escapements exists in a nocturnal post-club hinterland where the bass and beats still echo through your ears as night turns into day. Taking the listener from the club to a tripped-out dreamscape, Escapements brings musicality back to techno and shows that minimal need not be one-dimensional. Driving, thrilling and emotionally-charged, Escapements is set to cross the techno/house/trance divide and become one of the essential electronic albums of 2008. The album also comes bound in a beautiful UV-varnished design with a "QR" code (next-generation barcode) printed on the packaging that leads to a hidden web site with exclusive content.

SCOTT GROOVES- DETROIT 808 12” (natural midi, germany)

AK- SAY THAT YOU LOVE ME 12” (pantone music, uk)
11.98usd/8.33gbp/9.42eur/1122jpy (approx)

*AK, aka Akemi Kakihara, has been in the music business since she was 19.She owes her sophisticated musical taste to her father, who gave little AK a steady diet of great music such as Jazz and sound tracks. She showed an early sign of talent by composing her first music at 8 after she heard "Prelude" by Eumir Deodato, and eventually her style shifted to what was called "Cross Over" then, which is the combination of Soul, Jazz, Funk, Bossa Nova and such. AK finally found home in NY in 2001 and with Francois Kevorkian & Eric Kupper production remix of her single "Say That You Love Me" gave her the first big ticket to the world. Even before its release, the promos were heavily played by such big name NY DJs as Francois Kevorkian & Danny Krivit of Body & Soul, "Little" Louie Vega, Kim Lightfoot, Frankie Feliciano, and soon it became a big hit in the US (HOT 97 / Kcrw) , Japan(J-wave / Shibuya FM) & now on it's way too Europe with Dimitri From Paris , Laurent Garnier and Joey Negro supporting the cause. This version is edited by Danny Krivit as AK's voice crosses over R&B, Hip Hop & House freely. She is a global citizen who can treat NY, Tokyo and Europe equally as her playgrounds. AK the artist is starting to be recognized all over the world.

MY MY- EVERYBODY’S TALKIN 12” (playhouse, germany)
12.98usd/9.02gbp/10.20eur/1216jpy (approx)

*Two years after their debut album Songs For The Gentle, My My are back at Playhouse. And you can still fall in love with My My tracks in the club, as much as at home. On the A-side, you get a forceful house groove, warm chords and some old school vocals. With the B-side, My My tie in with their well-known material and deliver a technoid side. My My are deeply admired for their musical variety, and you won't believe the surprises here.

MR. G- MAKES NO SENSE: RADIO SLAVE REMIX 12” (rekids, uk)
12.98usd/9.02gbp/10.20eur/1216jpy (approx)

*Devastating technohouse long cuts from Mr G and Radioslave from the label that really specialises in this kind of stuff, Rekids. G's 'U Askin'?' was an undoubted anthem a couple of years back, a loopy house banger with deadly intent designed for play at big clubs like Berghain or Fabric, but equally as effective in small, dark and sweaty rave holes. 'Makes No Sense' is a lengthy builder made for the all night jacking crew, developing a loose looping technohouse pattern leading to reverbed chords and a sandpaper textured synthline, even dropping what sounds like a Linton Kwesi Johnson soundbite half way through. The full effect of this track won't make sense until you hear it on a big system but when it hits, you know. Radioslave's 'Shaking The Trees' mix reimagines the track as a tribalised rumper quite far removed from the original mix, but effective in it's own right. You can't touch the A-side though, if you're into Dettmann, Faki or Radioslave, or dancing for 12 hours in front of stupidly large soundsystems, this one's for you.

ILIJA RUDMAN/RAYKO & F. PINEDA- WANTING YOU 12” (rare wiri, spain)
13.98usd/9.72gbp/10.99eur/1310jpy (approx)

*The second release on the Spanish label Rare Wiri bring us again two quality club tracks. On A side Wanting You. Ilija Rudman feat. Show B on a nudisco killer tune filled with awesome basslines and cool synths that should make everybody move. On the flip Rayko & F.Pineda hit the floor with an edit of 80´s classic Walk The Nightto complete a really good double header.

LISA SHAW- MUSIC IN YOU 12” (salted music, usa)
12.98usd/9.02gbp/10.20eur/1216jpy (approx)

*Getting massive support from Mark Farina, Johnny Fiasco, Hardsoul, Raul Campos from KCRW, Richard Earnshaw, Audio Whores and Groove Junkies. Salted Music welcomes back the one and only Lisa Shaw with the 3rd single off her upcoming album Free (March 10th, 2009). "Music In You" is yet another solid and diverse dance music package with a little something for everyone out there. So whether you are a deep, techy, funky or soulful kinda music fan, there should be something of quality you can appreciate here. Switzerland's Dario D'Attis delivers two prime time club friendly versions ready to rock the dance floor as well as a deep-tech dub on the minimal tip. (The tech vocal and dub will be available digitally only.) Salted team member Julius Papp takes it to a deeper realm with a bubbly old school bass line, timbale drum rolls and slick sax riffs. Also included is Julius Papp's deeper vocal remix and dub. (Available digitally only.) Next up we have New Mondo's vocal and dub which keep the original version's upbeat energy, while stepping it up a notch giving the song a classic feel good house music vibe.

MOODYMANN- MAHOGANY BROWN CD (sound signature/peacefrog, uk)
24.98usd/17.36gbp/19.64eur/2341jpy (approx)

*Peacefrog come correct with a cd re-issue of one of house music's most pioneering producers 2nd album. Moodyman's 'Black Mahogany' album collates some of his finest moments, utilising soul, funk, gospel, and even hip hop production techniques Kenny Dixon Junior delivers a slice of Black American music that affirms his reputation as a major influence on house music today. Featuring his long term saxophonist and vocalist Norma Jean Bell on selected tracks adds a more soulful live feel (check the sublime 'Joy Part 3'). And grooves is what it's all about with Moodyman, no one rocks like him, and the fervour with which his releases are anticipated should go some way to convincing anyone who has ever thought about buying house music, start at the top and you cant go wrong.

THEO PARRISH- FIRST FLOOR CD (sound signature/peacefrog, uk)

ROGUE CAT AKA CHICKEN LIPS- MAGIC JOURNEY 12” (tiny sticks, france)
13.98usd/9.72gbp/10.99eur/1310jpy (approx)

*Rogue Cat is a new side-project from Dean Meredith of Chicken Lips fame. Here he presents his first excursion under this moniker; a mid-tempo jaunt into the realm of cosmic funk. On the flip Todd Terje (remixer of the moment) provides a truly stunning remix! A lot of love has clearly gone into this mix utilising key elements from the original while adding lots of his own ingredients including his vocals. A proper piece of 21st century disco.
